I have to say that your videos were some of the first ones I watched when I got my Instant Pot and now every time I use it I tell myself “sealing, not venting.” I am sure I’d forget to put it in sealing but because of your saying I check each time! Love your videos even as a non meat eater!

Good basic stuff, thanks! On whole chickens: I suggest pulling the giblets from the body cavity prior to freezing. That way you don't have the nasty bag of goop inside the cooked bird.

    Hi , a little trick I do I learnt in the restaurant business is to use a 2 , - 4 , - or 6 cup empty measureing cup .
I then open the storage bag and put it in the measuring cup using my fist .
You can then lift the measuring cup over the cooked ingresients and spoon them into the bag .
The maesuring cup keeps thr bag completely open and no mess :) Have a great day Bill

Do not stir anything with tomato sauce, tomatoes, or marinara sauce. The tomato product needs to go on top, water at the bottom, everything else in between.

I’m so happy I found this video for beginners. I’m still learning with my insta pot. I’ve done a whole chicken n u r so right it’s sooo tender I haven’t gotten to make to many meals with it as yet. My husband doesn’t eat veggies n he can’t have any green ( ex. green beans) as he is on a certain blood thinner. We like out meals very simple nothing fancy besides he’s more of a meat n potato man n definitely no hot sauce or any to spicy. I appreciate u showing how to do ground beef. Thanks for that. ♥️😊👍

Happy New Year Kristin!!!! You are truly amazing! Thank you so much for more great ideas with the Instant Pot, loved all of them. It is people like you that help people like me that don't think out of the box, so to speak. Love you and your ideas. I have a question on the hamburger, does it have to be frozen, and if not frozen, does the time change? That is a wonderful idea for hamburger, and the best part is all the grease remains inside the bottom of the pot! Simply wonderful. I am so looking forward to all the recipes you will be sharing this year. Thank you so much for all your work that you share with all of us. Big big bear hug to you! Claudia

Thanks for this review, it was very helpful. I still haven’t bought an Insta Pot but I’m sure it will be in my kitchen soon. What pushed me over the edge is seeing the grease that drained off the ground beef! That was amazing. I’m thinking that seasoning your food before you cook it should not be a problem, correct?
I’m so glad I found you, your videos are wonderful. Thank you and Happy New Year.

Hey! I’m so glad that I found your channel last night. I’ve been wanting an instant pot and been wondering if there was many easy and quick things that I could cook in it and have been looking online to find some easy instructions to teach me how to use it if, I bought one because I have been saving for one. I did take the money that I’ve been saving for one and get me one today. I hope I bought the right one for my family but by listening to your video on that , I think I did.I just had back surgery on Dec.28 and I can’t do a lot right now so these easy recipes of yours are going to help me out a whole lot.I subscribed to your channel just by watching these 6 recipes that I will be trying. And I love those bear claws, do you know where I can get me some? Thanks again for what you are doing, please keep it up! Have a good day. Hey I just wanted to come back on here and let you know we had the whole chicken recipe tonight for dinner and it was great. My chicken was already seasoned and it was 8 lbs. but it was falling off the bones after cooking for only 60 minutes. Thank you again!

I caved and bought one of these. Now know I am a farm wife of many years and can cook from scratch on a wood stove. I personally do not see some of these recipes and being easier or less clean up truthfully in many cases, however, I bought mine specifically for making yogurt from our dairy animals...ie goats, sheep and cow. For that, I hear good things. AND we raise pinto and navy beans as one of many crops on our farm and found this to be, at least in this case a potentially less time-consuming way of making beans. I am sure this item will have many uses. I bought accessories and plan to try them out. Thus far I seem to have more stuff to wash. No different that if I prepared these meals conventionally.

To take it a bit beyond basics, you can cook quinoa perfectly in one, and just add a bit of ground cloves, and it turns out soooo good! Just don't put too much water in it. You need to first rinse the quinoa, and then soak it several hours, or overnight. I even add apple cider vinegar to the water to break it down more. All this is because it gets real bitter if you dont do all that. Believe me it works!

BrianOnTheGo Hey, I received one for Christmas. A couple of things she doesn't mention in this video:
1.) The time you set isn't the total time. It can take like 10 minutes to come up to pressure before it starts cooking for the time you set. So, 1 minute steamed vegetables actually take like 11 min. And a 30 minute meat dish actually takes 40 minutes plus steam release time. Etc. I didn't know that ahead of time, and then I felt disappointed.
2.) The steam valve is scary the first few times. I actually left the room because I was afraid it would explode in my face. 😂 you can either use a spatula to smack it to "venting," or lay a folded kitchen towel over it to keep the steam from getting all over your cabinets.
      Good luck!

LOL I was thinking the same thing ;) no seasoning? I figured she was showing more Instapot technique than actual recipes. I have not used my Instapot yet so the video is a great help, I can swing the seasoning ;)

My favorite way to shred chicken is with my hand mixer. It's so fast!

I just made the best corned beef. 4. Lb corned beef pressure cooked at high for 90 min. With the usual spices. It was soft evenly ad cut nice. The veggies were pressure cooked for 10 min. In the same stock later and they were firm but fork tender.
I may forget how to make this on the stove top that took many hours.

: )Hello, Thank you for the video. Quick question for you, what model of insta pot is that you were using
    Thanks
    : )Tyler
Reason I'm asking is I'm looking for one with stainless steel and silicone parts only no plastic inside the cooking vessel.
I just ordered the 2nd gen insta pot blender wondering do you have one if yes are you happy with it thanks again ✋💋🌬

I'd love to see mre complete meals. I feel like veggies are so quick to cook that I wouldn't bother using an instant pot.
