Yea but see that's where the top loopers are seperated and u can clearly tell which ones really work on their craft compared to others soso round sounded like my 4 year old playing with the electric keyboard it was whack and rythmind was enjoyable and brought back memories of the song still dre
I feel like soso's style is like that super energetic hard exaggerated noises but he fits them in well. That's why that last drop hit so well with the crowd and some of the judges because that is Soso you know. His over exaggeration in loudness is kinda his style. Also like in the first round against beatness the exaggeration of the distortion but it works for him. Love you brez.
I love these popping in my feed still. So muck love for all of you guys. The loops box yall had vs the stuff now just isn't the same. I almost wish they would make a new category for it.
So-So’s last round with Inkie still blows my mind to this day. This set with Rythmind was definitely the roughest. Props on So-So for at least trying to bring something to the table against the great Rhythmind
Soso's rounds sound very unprepared. I dont think he thought he would make it this far. Would like to see a rematch, soso has leveled up so much. Would be legendary!
Your reaction to soso was so funny. The worst thing for me is that soso"s drops feel like alarm clocks!!I think he used his best rounds against beatness because he was the defending champion but would he be in semi finals if he kept them in reserve and used these two against beatness? not sure...
I think So-So played it well. Using his strongest routines against a defending Champion to make a name of himself. Doesn't matter if he lose his other 2 battles, he already made an impression on everyone and for me that's a win.
that was the point, he used his aces immediately to make sure he was heard. If he didn't, nobody would hear his bangers. For his first ever year, it wasn't about winning, it was about getting his name out there. now people know his style and his potential, and they loved him too - you see his 7 to smoke?
So-so does this for fun! He does it to please the crowd and that’s what I love about him!! He gives a good show for the community, nothing more nothing less!!

Brez these days I've been observing alot about mixing in loopstation so, can you make a tutorial or a guide video where you tell more details about mixing.
I remember watching this battle for the first time and was instantly stressed out by So-So's rounds. It's not my taste, but maybe his style will evolve. Rythmind's rounds are just perfect! 🔥
The issue with SO-SO is that his rounds in my opinion were a little bit off time and his snares are too quiet. That could have made a difference if he fixed those
I think soso round 2 from 14:26 to 15:10 was his remix of some traditional japanese music, the drum and and melody is funny but it like japanese instrumental
The first problem of So-So is he doesn't make an introduction stage of the round like his rival, Rythmind makes an melodic introduction before the drops. The second, the japanoise can't support the hype of the people after the start, and he make mistakes. Greetings from El Salvador, my dear Brez :)
I actually really enjoyed so-so's second round, although there were definitely some mistakes with timing and some mixing. A lot of it comes down to taste, really. If he can improve his drums and mixing then he's definitely world champion material from an objective standpoint (the same can be said for so many loopers though, really hyped for next world champs!)
SOSO's creativity is off the charts, Rythmind is still one of my favourite but I just enjoy what creativity and unexpected beats and loops he(SOSO) brings.

I agree with you. It is fine to have a bit of a longer buildup but you have to give the crowd something reasonably interesting to listen to while you do it. The only exception to that is if the sounds you are building up are interesting and you can do it quickly. A good example of this is Inkie performing "strange" in 2018. SO-SO has really good sound design and some of his drops are insanely hard but he lacks structure and flow imo. I hope that makes sense.
Aaaand an extra technical question - most of the snares I've heard seems to be some kind of outward (breath out; exhale) ones. And my main snare is the opposite of that... I'd call that inward S (based on Spencer X terminology). Anyone else is inward mains?
I thought I was the only one that thought this an soso's rounds but tbh soso's last drop was not all that bad but the execution of it was pretty bad and build up the transitions soso has alot of potential
SOSO has such an amazing personality, I completely understand why some people don’t like him and prefer Rythmind as soso is different but im here for it! Both super talented
fun fact: did u know rythmind 1st round, the rap that rythmind use, it was on a song called "go get the strap ft. 6ix9ine and 50 cent" (i may be wrong on the title cuz i cant remember anymore)
no I totally agree with you. I literally don't understand what So-So is trying to do. I didn't enjoy so-so's track either [at all], because it's sharp, blaring. I kinda felt bad for So-So since everyone had high expectations for him after his rounds against Beatness, only to landslide lose two consecutive rounds, so I rewatched and tried my best to find silver linings, and I came to the same conclusion as you did - the crowd at least seems to enjoy the "bad" music.
Personally I love this battle, and it is obvious that Rythmind won. But I really love SoSo's second round, idk, i personally don't find it as headache inducing or painful as many. I feel that after all this time since GBB 2019 we forget that SoSo's style was very new to the GBB scene and his sounds/drops where things no one had really heard before on that high level of a stage. And that in the moment, everyone could mostly think "WTF IS GOING ON, HOW TF IS HE DOING THAT". Now, it was still an obvious win for Rythmind, butIi think less and less credit is being given to SoSo as we continue on that i feel is entirely unfair. Just my opinion though.
Also another thing about So-So, I love him but sometimes he uses extremely loud sounds that would almost bust your eardrums! Does anyone relate ?? If you watch LaydBakFR he explains it so well Edit: just finished the vid and read comments so now I know 😅😅

Firstly, when that snare hits, you instantly recognize it as Rythmind's signature sound. That's unmistakable. However, I'm here primarily to grasp why people appreciate So-So's performances. No disrespect to him; despite his charm and high energy, I've struggled to connect with his music, except during the elimination round. I appreciate hearing your take on this. Over the years, So-So's style has evolved, but I'm not sure if he initially intended it for battles.
Im with you right there... at times i feel like soso's style is just earrape. Even comments compare it to alarm music. Atleast to me, the only enjoyable soso round was the second round against beatness. (But even in this case there are parts that arent pleasant to the ear
His beats was very strange and difficult to do from another looper, and soso was unique he played the loop for fun and the music was like an alarm, even though it was far from musicality taste but i know what soso meant hehehehe
SO-SO does a lot of music that is straight out of the Japanese EDM scene, with like speedcore and some of their J-Core type stuff with these off beats and crazy high pitch sounds. It's fairly niche, and likely sounds insane to the crowd which is why they had those kinds of reactions, but it may not sound great to most normal listeners. Rhythmind's performances are very methodical and well executed, though. In terms of cleanliness, clarity, and structure, he had it by a long shot. That second round was unbeatable. Only other round close to that in my opinions was Inkie's second drop vs. SO-SO in small final. Crazy house beat.
For the lyrics of rythmind's first round, it's taken from 50 cent's verse from the song "Get the strap" by Uncle Murda It says: I am not gang-gang, I do not gang bang Don't play me like I'm pussy, I will pull up and bang-bang That's the third time you've been got, second time you was shot Your man just ain't your man, he saw us first and fucking ran We on a different type of time, you on some different shit Now n*gga, don't you play with me, play with a bitch I ain't ran into a problem that I can't fix Hit your ass upside the head with a full stick

Am I the only one that thinks that soso is the chillest guy on earth.
For the lyrics of rythmind's first round, it's taken from 50 cent's verse from the song "Get the strap" by Uncle Murda
It says:
I am not gang-gang, I do not gang bang
Don't play me like I'm pussy, I will pull up and bang-bang
That's the third time you've been got, second time you was shot
Your man just ain't your man, he saw us first and fucking ran
We on a different type of time, you on some different shit
Now n*gga, don't you play with me, play with a bitch
I ain't ran into a problem that I can't fix
Hit your ass upside the head with a full stick
@BreZ Beatbox you said best loop round. Bro you didn't saw SARO versus MB14?
I did
Have you ever heard "opinion"?
