To all the people thinking I don‘t like NME: I‘m criticizing single points here but I also give him props for what he did well. I love NME both as a friend and artist. My aim with these videos is not to end someone‘s career or make someone feel bad. I give my own opinions on how artists can improve and it‘s up to them, if they want to apply my feedback not. I want to see the community grow and every single artist that is in this community. Growth is not possible without criticism and I try my very best to stay as rational as possible, which is pretty hard when talking about art, because its made to express emotions. @@UnknownUser-zk5sn I didnt even see it bro, but I forgive you. ❤️ By the way: opinion and hate is 2 different things, if you disagree with me, please disagree.
In my opinion, the distorted bass of NME (something that you criticized in NME vs Inkie too) is just his style, yes it could be cleaner but he likes it more like that, also the pitching up for the drop is fine as long as it brings energy with it and moves the crowd, better than no ACTUAL drop (Brez, first round).
Had so many issues with this battle haha (deaf left ear because of acute otitis, loopstation fader problem, mic died before going on stage so I borrowed a mic I never used before, guy spilt his beer on my pants before going on stage so I had to use those grey sweat pants hahaha... ) but happy that you still liked my performance bro ! Also, the timer was wrong, it was going 5 seconds too slow every minute. So when it said 0:15 the 3min were actually over !
I can tell that Madox wasn’t trying to offend NME in his first round analysis. It’s alright bro, we know you are just analyzing and it’s part of the video to point out mistakes. And he knows too, judging by the last analysis with NME you guys don’t have beef and it’s all love in the beatbox community. Always hyped for analysis!!!! Big ups love you boys!
I’ve been waiting for that one too!! I think NaPoM won for sure and even Kenny Urban thought NaPoM won. When they raised his hand he looked shocked as hell and said “you won!” When he hugged NaPoM
finally someone talkin about the NME ist round...personally i thought i couldnt hear his vocals behind all that sound...NME's ist round was bugging me..and now...i can finally let go😪😪😪
Yeah since this battle has been released I always thought that NME's first round singing was barely audible because of the saturation and all the beats playing
@@Alec30 It still was a really good round for sure (Im not a looper not even a beatboxer and I have a basic knowledge on the important judging aspects for a good loop round) but the lyrics were still really faded by the rest
Nme to me has a better way of showcasing emotions and the meaning of music with his beats while a Brez is a true hype performer. You’d pay money to go to a Brez concert for a dope hip hop type of vibe and NMEs music makes you feel thoughtful
The more I watch this battle and more I find the Brez’s 2nd round so underrated!!! 🔥 The battle was very high level and tight, but Brez won for me! Anyway, bravo NME 👏 I expect a Brez on fire for GBB 2021, as he improved a lot since (it helps to be close friend with Saro 😂)
Beatbox is really an art indeed. It's subjective, you can interpret every rounds or routine depending on your taste or how you understand it. That's why its so complicated and like you've said it causes controversy a lot of times.
@@kaloykaloy6343 100% agree, these loopers and beat-boxers are incredibly talented and all have their own style. Each person will like different things and will judge differently from each other, as a person might a judge a performance if it has uniqueness and good flow, while another might judge if the performer can control and hype a crowd and have good technicality.
On some of the loop station battles the timer was broken again but it wasn’t as bad as with Mb14 vs B-Art or Elisii. That’s why many three minute rounds ended with 15 sec left in the timer. You can also see this with So-So vs Beatness.

Hey Bro! sick reaction/analysis as always, always delivering additional insight i'd never think of. I'd like to suggest analysing oldschool battles and compare the beatbox scene from that era to the one we have today. An example of a good battle is Reeps One vs Skiller in the 1/2 final of the 3rd beatbox battle world championship, i was in total disbelief at the judge's decision so yeah, would love to understand the bits and details that gave skiller that win. best of luck moving forward with your content bruder!! Can you please analyse M-Ages Swissbeatbox shoutout? I think its the perfect video of mixing. He made FUTURE BASS on loopstation. He is so underrated. I am so sure that you will like it. Please give it a chance.❤
I disagree with some of the analysis of NMEs first round... the bass texture was definitely an artistic choice to purposely sound distorted and muddy and messy and the voices loud because the entire point of the song is about having an anxiety crisis because you’re stuck in a car with no radio or distractions from your problems, like you can’t stop the voice in your head type of feel. I think the emotional side of NMEs performance is what made the distorted lo-fi/chaotic part of it make sense for the aesthetic but that’s just a personal taste sort of decision on my end because of the original song.
I think NME was aiming for a much more over moded sound on his first round. I think he was aiming for that loud clash to try and fight Brez's epic first round. Bigup Maddox you are the true man of culture. I love your videos. They make me really think about these performances in much finer detail. Thanks so much bro 👊🙏
Yeah I couldn't really get around NME's first round with so many things being so loud and I found his second round lyrics a bit cheap. But that's just my thoughts. I loved both rounds from BreZ, just wished the second round switch was a bit better but the drop made up for it in my opinion.
As a non-professional looper, BreZ's first round was the initial recordings for the longest time til he switched up with less than 40 seconds left. I believe that the judges voted on complexity of the track as one of the deciding factors.
