      Lol...Thanks Bro! My intention is to show new boat owners that there are many things that can be done by DIY, and the less you have someone else touch your engine the better it is. By my experience they will always mess something up, you saw the bent on the old fuel pump...this shows you that no one cares to be careful inside the engine compartment. Thanks again for your support! Blessings!

      Thank you for watching our video! Its is hard to find, but this is the one I bought on Amazon Vikter Low Pressure Electric Fuel Pump Compatible with Mercury Mercruiser Marine Boat 4.3L 5.0L 5.7L V6 V8 Replace# 861155A3 935432, or you can go to www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/parts-and-accessories/parts-catalog, and click on Launch Parts Catalog. there you can look up by your engines serial number. 10 to 1 the guy who replaced that fuel pump hit it pretty hard to push it back into that grommet and it bent the neck on the fuel pump. finding a good mechanic in the keys is practically impossible nobody wants to pay them enough to keep a good one living in the Keys seems to be a problem all throughout in most businesses in the Keys

      Hi Allen! Thanks so much for watching our video! Yes, some people just don't care. In the FL Keys it is a big problem, and after covid, its been even worse. Peace from the Keys!

    Any idea if this is about the same for the 7.4 mpi

    • @KeysBoatingChannel
      @KeysBoatingChannel  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, thanks for your comment. It should be the same. But check the parts catalog at Mercury.com to see if the fuel pump assembly illustration has the same components as ours. Thanks for Watching! Peace!

      Ahoy!
      The 2000 2855 with the 7.4 MPI is very different indeed!
      The pump has the cool flow set up. The 7.4 pump and cooler are buried under the right side of the engine (port side of the boat). It’s a nightmare in the 7.4 MPI 2855 Bayliner. It’s an in-line pump, they could have put it anywhere! The pumps are the same other than the outlet being threaded for some applications and smooth for others.

    How reliable are those chinese pumps? just put one in my boat and it died in less then 1 year.

      @KeysBoatingChannel  2 роки тому

      Hi Dawson, the pump has been working perfectly so far...but only time will tell. I saw the reviews and some said that it worked fine, and some said it lasted months. Thanks for your comment and support to the channel. Peace!

    That obviously was not a new fuel pump, mechanics that pull that crap need to go away !!!

      Hi, thanks for your comment! Yes, I noticed that the fuel looked the same as my old one, they charged me $430. They will pay for their dishonesty! More and more boat owners are doing most of the work themselves, and they will soon be out of business. Especially in the Florida Keys, its a very small place and the word will get around pretty fast. Thanks again for your support!
