I put a power cam in my 2018 FLTRU, have about 50,000 kms on it. As mine is a long distance cruiser I don't do block to block quick starts. Only differences between the 2 is the power cam makes more hp at higher rpm's. Mine now redlines at 6400rpm. The power cam comes on big time after 3500 rpm.....right up to 6400rpm. The power cam good for city and short rides, quick starts. But big difference to stock cam, unbelievable!

Yeah man that's exactly right. They couldnt have missed that noise when they fired it up.
when I rang harley I was told they just got the bike put back together 30 mins before knock off. I'd say they rushed it out the door hey.
That being said thankfully they werent difficult and they came and got it off me the next day.

I had the torque cam fitted here in the UK . They wouldn't fit the ajustable push rods too much trouble , fitted cam with the standard push rods dyno jet power map , bike fast as fook can't fault ! no top end noise.

    • @TheGingybeardMan
      @TheGingybeardMan  4 роки тому +1

Even with adjustable push rods their should be no difference in valve train noise.
I would have preferred the standard pushrods being used as there is no room for error but the reason why they didnt reuse the standard ones is because it's much quicker for them to cut the standard pushrods out and put the adjustable ones in without having to take off the rocker covers and rocker assembly to reinstall the pushrods after putting in the new cam.
      Thankfully Harley

Could you please add another video of the sound close to the engine to see if it picked up any other sound? I just installed the torque cam and everything seems like is running right, but I can hear the “sewing machine” noise a little more after the upgrade, yet it doesn’t sound anything like yours did at the beginning of the video, I had a little ticking noise like before the upgrade just a little louder or noticeable now, I was told that was part of the new m8 engines the “the sewing machine noise” great channel by they been following your videos since before I even bought mine.

Hey mate the ticking noise my bike had was because the mechanic didn't put the spark plug cap all the way onto the spark plug. So the noise which could be heard was an electric arcing sound.
I had a 10 cubic inch softail street bob and the valve train noise was about as loud as the ticking in my video. The Milwaukee 8 engines are no where near as loud as the twin cam 110.

Hey Man, great vids cheers. Just a question, I am getting SE Torque Cam up grade soon (2020 slim), I already have the SE stage 1, slip ons and air cleaner, but the tuner is a Maximus tuning dongle key, Maximus seemingly being industry standard now. I don't have the black box tuner, just the usb dongle. Err I don't even know what my question is! Lest try anyway, The HD dealer I now have access to says they don't have the software to tune the dongle as "no one uses them" WTF. Do you know anything about the Maximuss tuning key dongles? Cheers Bro.

    • @TheGingybeardMan

I bought the $720 maximus unit. The unit I have is a black box and not a dongle. I found some info on this website.
      hdforums.com.au/Thread/674718/1
      One fella says.
Essentially for $400 you’re buying a licence and USB for unlimited tunes on that particular bike. The shop has a master key and equipment to perform the tune itself and has it backed up on your dongle along with OEM parameters to revert back to stock if need be.
If you want to have a play yourself, you need to basically spend double for a stand-alone tuner with cables for DIY adjustments

It was fixed the next day man, I've done loads of vids on the bike on my channel since. It was an easy fix, as the spark plug lead was loose on the plug

You may want to wear gloves riding the smaller softails are particularly vibratory. Harley engineered some vibration into all (?) their bikes 🏍️ the smaller ones give you even more.

Good video but I hate seeing people ride with no gloves. First thing to touch down if you bin it and id much rather have hands with skin on them 😂
