I was hopeful the space marine was going to become a dreadnought with two new serfs, or a new recruit and his father serving as a serf and personal aid to a dreadnought
@@aurorauplinks you thought a 40k story had a happy ending? The kid not being murder-rape in the control tower was happy enough. The ending was downright heretically hopeful!
@@Vuntermonkey well i mean ify ou think the spacemarine would have enjoyed being a dreadnought, just think of the stories of his bitterness of everything, and how get stories of his faithful human eventually diieing and him becoming even more imbittered but he has his space marine to talk to that became a recruit and he started acting as a older brother or cousin too, and we could have had this bitterness evolve into him basically having these arguments where he finally descends to each battle and he sees it like clock work and starts to question how he used to view the dreadnoughts as he slowly starts to feel more and more like a man of iron and thinking he might know how they feel, but he is still always revered in the monestary, but on the battlefield the enemy treats him the way the imperium would a man of iron and he starts to contemplate whether he should still live... of course he has other friends in the space marines and the serfs perhaps, but he seemed to be bonding with them by the time the shit realy hit the fan, i honestly half expected him to become a agent of chaos with that infection keeping spreading etc would have been cool if the kid was gifted with how to intuitively repair electronics so he had to back engineer the device that could cure his infection after calling for aid and they had to wait for a few weeks maybe im just throwing too much wierdness into it... but iwouldnt call it a happy ending, more like a morose but loyal ending where everyone fights, they falter, they are injured, the father has to have bionics, but he basically becomes half machine himself, a servitor who hasnt had his humanity removed nor his brain... and the sons striving to appease the marines to be allowed to join, and hes constantly fighting to make it while he can recieve the implants... and maybe he is too late... and they cannot finish the process and they force him to instead leave and become a trainer or work for the arbites somewhere with his half implanted marine gifts... or would they make him keep doing it until it killed him... i am not sure if they let people stop midway with the implants if they grow too fast... i guess they rush the implants even if they arent tested fully once they start

I was wondering, how will he be able to join? Or is that on his planet? Or did the Marines take him with them because he proved special and battle hard?
@@JMS118 Imagine when the Dark Hunters get to the planet. A bolt pistol round is not that insane its a bit smaller then a 12 gauge round my 11 year old cousin has shot my 12 gauge granted she has to fire from a mount or from the hip. I'm sure a bolt pistol manages recoil alot better then my 12guage which has pretty much no recoil management at all lol a young boy firing a bolt pistol would not be unrealistic. Especially a strong farmers boy starving or not.
Also not to mention bolters use rocket assisted munitions which we have actually created in real life the gyrojet projectiles were specifically designed to reduce recoil to almost nothing I'm assuming thats why the bolt rounds are rocket assisted as well.
Well a bolt round is intended to penetrate then explode, so it's generally not equipped with shrapnel, after all it's not the high explosive that makes a frag grenade dangerous, but the metal it flings outward.
Loved it. Very cool glimpse of a marine belonging to a rarer Scars successor chapter. I believe these cats were actually created exclusively to go toe to toe with the Punisher crew; which makes for a great rivalry. Nit pick; yeah, the farm kid is going to shatter his hand and forearm the moment he squeezes the trigger on that bolt pistol. Awesome read as always.
Third time, and still one of my favorites. I wish Kearney had given just a little more to the boys story after the return. Just a few words to solidify what we're all assuming happened next to the boy.
I haven't even finished yet, 20min left.. excellent story imo. 1 of my favorite so far. And Inquisitor Prince has brought it to life. Thank you Brother... the Emperor Protects 💪
