THE DRAGON KNIGHT SLAYER64 idk anymore I keep seeing this guy for sale at $800 to 549 all over the place it’s driving me nuts just give me a solid price that’s not ridiculous
Awesome and extremely thorough review! I watched the whole video! Man, this Prime is PACKED with tons of accessories and features! Even though the transformation is pretty crazy, all the parts look perfectly whole and solid in the end. Kudos to the makers of this Prime because they seemed to have thought of EVERYTHING! I definitely would love this, but at that price point, I'm sticking with my MP-1 Prime.
Wow. You haven't changed, Emgo. And I think that's a good thing. Recently, I've been coming back to Transformers for some reason and after watching some Tfp clips, I immediately thought of your channel. I'm so happy that you haven't changed. Keep doing what you're doin', dude.
Dammed and here I thought the TE-01 and the Ultra Maxmax had complicated transformations. So this is the 2 no for me: Expensive and Hard to transforme.
A Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime listing has been found and people are expecting the figure to look exactly like this MP Optimus Prime figure but shrunk down to a commander class.
As a kid watching emgo do these reviews and knowing he still makes them makes me happy always enjoyed watching his reviews and it’s because of emgo that I even found out about the leader class version for DOTM megatron and got it for my birthday and watched his review once I got it to help me transform it
He doesn't say "Till all are one"? It's probably because they used Peter Cullen's lines from the Bay movies and the quote doesn't exist there, but it's unfortunate none the less. Oh well, I guess I should be happy that they included him at all, that's already a big improvement over MP-36.
Its a beautiful figure, i love the cartoon design a lot....but the price point is absolutely unacceptable imo, i will never ever spend that king of money on a Transformers Masterpiece toy, its just insane and not worth it imo. Ffs, you can get a high quality Transformers figure from ThreeZero for half the price of this one!! Edit: i never thought i would say this, but the more that i look at it, the more i think that the MP-10 is the better version of the 2!! Im really surprised because im a sucker for cartoon accuracy, but for some reason this one doesn't do it for me, its a beautiful figure but its missing something for me...
The truck side-panels folding into the legs is the weirdest transformation I've seen. Also, the inside trailer could have used some stickers for additional details. Other then that, this a superb masterpiece Optimus Prime with great articulation! Awesome review, Emgo!!
Transforming him looks like it’s a pain, but he looks absolutely incredible in big forms. I didn’t think they could have possibly topped MP-10 Prime, but what do you know they did.
While my engineering background applauds what they've been able to do in going from a toon accurate truck to a toon accurate bot, this is ridiculously over-engineered. Takara has gone completely overboard with the toon accuracy. I always looked to MPs for the toon/comic silhouette, but with the real-world deco and details, and this is why they're losing me more and more to 3P stuff. I'm more than happy with MP-10, not only for his (relatively) more direct transformation, but the truck-y kibble and non-hit on my bank account. Still, happy for those that this satisfies. And jealous of some of those trailer features!
The problem with MP-44 is that they had to add their stupid gimmicks like opening doors and a voice feature, which not only made the transformation more complex, but less accurate to the cartoon.
Yeah, in my opinion this is too toon accurate. I’m not the biggest fan, I love the g1 cartoon designs, but too see it as a 3D toy looks weird. I prefer mp10’s more realistic vehicle mode and more detailed robot mode. As of now I’m not sure I’d buy any of the newer masterpiece figures because of the cartoon aesthetic.
I think this does a really, really good job of capturing the cartoon look, much better than MP-10. But MP-10 does SO MANY OTHER THINGS better. Not in the least its price...
I honestly enjoyed the transformation. I felt rewarded when I saw Prime in his epic G1 robot mode. I ended up leaving my MP-10 in his truck mode after getting a few comparison pictures.
Imagine if you were part of the engineering team that had to design how this all came together Wow the leg complexity I can’t imagine how much of a sadist the design lead must be
11:04 That's a welder, not a gas pump. Nobody seems to know this. In Diaclone World, when the trailer is in repair bay mode (vertical), the claw arm uses it to repair the robot mech suit (Convoy/Optimus Prime).
@@zookdom3347 I love my MP-10, but the big thing about MP-44 is that cartoon accuracy, and I *really* like how posable this guy is. You can really do scenes from the movie as well. I grew up with G1 in the 80's, so that's a big nostalgia point for me.
Top review as per usual. I love this figure (show accuracy, nice & fun transformation, though back to cab mode I struggle with the final steps having the gaz tanks alined). My only gripe is the fragile grey paint around the chest.. From now on, I'm off to blooshing !

I am so surprised I made it through this video. 😂 very long BUT NECESSARY AND WORTH IT! Thanks Emgo as always for being so honest and thorough with your reviews. ❤Looking forward to hopefully get this guy someday as I'm still proud of my MP-10 but Jesus this new one is screaming for me to get it! 😄😂
I think that I still prefer MP-10 for a couple of reasons. One, the vehicle mode looks too plain. There is no white stripe around the cab, and the trailer looks too dark, with no blue stripes through the white highlights. And Two, I would prefer that the backpack did not have the electronics, I would prefer to have the weapon storage done in the same way as it is for MP-10, seeing as the Ion-Blaster still has the fold up feature.
The metal parts on the trailer for the little figures to stick to it is a call back to the original Diaclone Battle Convoy. It had the same feature which Hasbro took out when they imported the toy line to the United States. That was a nice touch of Takara to put it back on the new version of Optimus Prime since it was in the original version.
Looking back at MP-10 his articulation wasn’t that great, if you want a better affordable op, I suggest magic square prime, they have MP 10/MP 1 colors aswell as animation accurate colors

Good stuff emgo...i love transformers...when i was a kid...my father cannot affort to buy these toys for me...today,..i have collected almost every figures..🤩😚
Nobodyasked
@@cray1243 thanks bro...what im tryin to say is 'one day, i must have these toys no matter what' and i did...
Been there.... I still can't afford every toy bit there is always a new optimus in my Target
Not gonna lie,no matter how good these masterpiece figures are,the r waaayyyy too expensive so if I'm gonna buy a couple I would just buy KOs
Just want to say that you walking through this _insanely_ complex Optimus Prime transformation in a single take, with no cuts or flubs, is impressive. Respect. ✊🤖
The bad thing is if I were to get this figure I would be paying almost $900 just to own this 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
THE DRAGON KNIGHT SLAYER64 but how much would that convert to Australian cause with the current price on BBTS converted to Australian dollar almost $900
THE DRAGON KNIGHT SLAYER64 idk anymore I keep seeing this guy for sale at $800 to 549 all over the place it’s driving me nuts just give me a solid price that’s not ridiculous
Agreed
For something called a masterpiece, they sure do suggest otherwise with all their remakes.
41:22 The Starscream head is basically a teaser for Masterpiece 3.0 Starscream
Snowflake Playz MP-03 ver1.0, MP11ver2.0
@@famyemil I meant 3.0
For months they called him a mad man!
It has a *clean* ass back
Awesome and extremely thorough review!
Second only to the upcoming Unicron, the most expensive TF figure ever. Thanks for sharing. :D
Nah this figure is $500 and several stores has it for $800 so thats more expensive
**Laughs in Fans Toys Fortress Maximus**
Optimus Prime actually had the rocket pack on top of his trailer flying in truck mode to face Lord Chumley ! On the episode Prime Target.
Really?! 😲
Ah, the boobies episode. (Yes, OP did say that there is video proof on UA-cam)
Your reviews kick arse ! Gotta give you props Emgo !! You did it justice
You can’t retire MP10. He’s almost as iconic to this channel as mascot!
You may be right about that, but the only downfall about MP-10 is that it is not entirely cartoon accurate, despite being in the right scale.
As a kid watching emgo do these reviews and knowing he still makes them makes me happy always enjoyed watching his reviews and it’s because of emgo that I even found out about the leader class version for DOTM megatron and got it for my birthday and watched his review once I got it to help me transform it
Can't wait for the 400 K special. We all love you Emgo!
Really hope it's released in the US at a lower price. Totally worth $250.
Well MP-49 has good news for you lol
Honestly, still glad I got my TE-01 Op leader, much cheaper and still as great. Even better in some aspects.
The Magic Square is also a really good one, but I wish that someone further elaborated on the real truck grill.
Only true g1 fans will understand the starscream head
It’s from when the decepticons stole oil disguised as the autobots and starscream pulled off his optimus mask and his intakes pop out
He doesn't say "Till all are one"? It's probably because they used Peter Cullen's lines from the Bay movies and the quote doesn't exist there, but it's unfortunate none the less.
Oh well, I guess I should be happy that they included him at all, that's already a big improvement over MP-36.
i was thinking it sounded like bay movie clips but i wasn’t sure if anyone else noticed
I know this sounds weird but I'm going to have a lot of fun coming up with ways to use the starscream head
How long until MP-10 is precious
Wylde Bill until they release a 4.0 😂
35 years
Great review. Thanks for showing about the knees problem. Will be careful 👍
Awesome video, thanks so much for great transformation instructions...I’d never have made it through without your Masterpiece wisdom! 😁👍
the leg alone is a deluxe class transformer
The truck side-panels folding into the legs is the weirdest transformation I've seen. Also, the inside trailer could have used some stickers for additional details. Other then that, this a superb masterpiece Optimus Prime with great articulation! Awesome review, Emgo!!
Transforming him looks like it’s a pain, but he looks absolutely incredible in big forms. I didn’t think they could have possibly topped MP-10 Prime, but what do you know they did.
Great review. Im still on the fence on buying or not, but always makes a point to watch your reviews!
Agreed on your opinion concerning Mp-10. That toy is the very definition of timeless.
Eh, I still think MP 10 is the best Prime Takara has produced. Even today that Prime still looks great. But that's just my opinion.
Mine too. It's just perfect. This guy, while extremely complex, has a huge chunk of backpack that I just don't dig
I think this does a really, really good job of capturing the cartoon look, much better than MP-10. But MP-10 does SO MANY OTHER THINGS better. Not in the least its price...
Really the only appealing thing to me at this point for MP-10 is his price. And even that guy's too much and is beaten out by the new 3P options imo.
I love this overly complicated transformation. It looks satisfying
Emgo, as always, you’ve outshined yourself. Great review.
Finally! Thank you emgo, for giving us a review of this thing that’s actually quality lol. Like my man said, we don’t deserve you
I just don't ever see myself replacing my mp 01 2004 masterpiece optimus prime. Great looking figure tho.
I love the inthusiasum you put into your reviews
Emgo, do you have a shelf dedicated to your Optimus Primes?
Vaguecrawdad at this point, he probably has a shelf for every character that showed up in the cartoon and each combiner team.
I do
At this point he probably has one MADE of Optimus Primes.
If you look on his twitter he sells a lot, I'm guessing to make room and more money
Why would he? He only has like 2 primes (sarcasm)
I honestly enjoyed the transformation. I felt rewarded when I saw Prime in his epic G1 robot mode. I ended up leaving my MP-10 in his truck mode after getting a few comparison pictures.
Imagine if you were part of the engineering team that had to design how this all came together
Wow the leg complexity
I can’t imagine how much of a sadist the design lead must be
11:04 That's a welder, not a gas pump. Nobody seems to know this. In Diaclone World, when the trailer is in repair bay mode (vertical), the claw arm uses it to repair the robot mech suit (Convoy/Optimus Prime).
This review is gonna determine if I decide to get this 😁I've been thinking about it, but I need a really good review 👍🏻
The Second ZedRies You misspelled “Transform Element Op”!
Honestly seems like a rip off to me, Takara must be making giant profit off this. I think MP-10 looks better.
@@zookdom3347 I love my MP-10, but the big thing about MP-44 is that cartoon accuracy, and I *really* like how posable this guy is. You can really do scenes from the movie as well. I grew up with G1 in the 80's, so that's a big nostalgia point for me.
get it from amazon japan, its around $350-$360 shipped. Better than paying $460 at bbts
@@zedries wish it was available

Top review as per usual. I love this figure (show accuracy, nice & fun transformation, though back to cab mode I struggle with the final steps having the gaz tanks alined). My only gripe is the fragile grey paint around the chest..
From now on, I'm off to blooshing !
The 80's were the best god do i miss it oh well it life and it will go on
dude that ending skit was funny as hell especially when megatron said so was that i lol'd so much
Yow been waiting for your review on MP44
Endo if you see this I am glad your still here after all this time and I am glad I have been watching this channel since I watched the 2007 transformers movie I loved it btw I hope everyone has enjoyed watching your videos as much as I have
People think Unicron is too expensive yet buy this thing with no hesitation.
I would think that it wouldn’t as bad as those that collect MP or 3rd party since the MP game is in the expensive side. But, for some those that only live the CHUG life had a rude awakening.
Great review! I loved the engineering on this, at least from truck to bot mode. Haven't done the other way yet. I have a tab that won't peg on the arm tho, so it's time to get some Pledge revive it!
Prime collecting could be a hobby in itself.
Well. It is for me!
My father and I probably have 120+ primes including the original. Just prime.
I have 4 figures on my shelf
@@ShodaiGojira-xn3xk I don't even target Primes specifically or collect that many transformers and I have seven red and blue Primes (including one Orion Pax) a Primitive Skateboarding black Optimus Prime and my one and only MP figure is MP-10B Black Convoy.
Thanks for these videos. I just watched a bunch of these while I transformed all my MPs for display. Very handy because the instructions are sometimes terrible.
As a power Rangers fan, I never realized just how lucky we were to have simple transforming sequences! O_o
I would KILL to get my hands on one of those Takara toy cards.
This is an amazing figure, the proportions are pretty accurate. I just hate how takara adds so much extra stuff that beefs up the price
55 MINUTES!?!?!, hold on let me grab my popcorn
wow
The chest transformation sort of reminded me of the way the chest transforms in the Bay movie in 2007, it was a nice treat
‟ what's in the bottom of your trailer?‟
‟ oh just my extra heads‟
I think that I still prefer MP-10 for a couple of reasons. One, the vehicle mode looks too plain. There is no white stripe around the cab, and the trailer looks too dark, with no blue stripes through the white highlights. And Two, I would prefer that the backpack did not have the electronics, I would prefer to have the weapon storage done in the same way as it is for MP-10, seeing as the Ion-Blaster still has the fold up feature.
That trailer is awesome :) I'm not so fussed on the Prime, I prefer the MP10 design, but that trailer is very nice indeed!
It's nice, but MP-10 is still the best imo.
Why?
@@petergianakopoulos4926 not overpriced, doesn't have a gigantic backpack and has a better transformation
@@557deadpool nah your just cheap
@@Viometrix-Designs "i discard your opinion because it's a cheaper figure"
Idiot.
Looking back at MP-10 his articulation wasn’t that great, if you want a better affordable op, I suggest magic square prime, they have MP 10/MP 1 colors aswell as animation accurate colors
