Since you can leave every hostile undisturbed except when the game tells you you need to knock a few people out which are usually short and brief sections that didn’t happen all that much it felt like a modernized chaos theory to me. I do miss the darkness meter though. Probably my second favorite after chaos theory.
Actually they have a graphic novel called SC Echoes that ends the story behind Megiddo so they could sort of have a clean slate to have Blacklist. And Kobin wasn't really an enemy, he was employed by Lambert to get a body double for Sarah and was part of Third Echelon before Reed's takeover, so he's more or less neutral
Fisher = Jack Bauer, Grim = Cloe O´Brien, Paladin = CTU... I enjoyed the game. Too bad that the ending was hastily cobbed together. Way too many great games suffer from a bad ending. Maybe dev teams become stressed and sloppy near end due to (time) pressure and publisher demands. However I hope the series stays this way but more stealth less shooting would be appreciated.
To be fair, Sarah was an adult at the time. Not that it makes it better, but she was technically not a child, so that a few points removed on Kobin unlikability.
You're correct. The new VA, Eric Johnson, isn't really bad. He's just not Sam Fisher. Something things about a character you just can't change without ruining them. Michael Ironside is just so iconic that you can't really replace him. That's why I said they should have created a new character for Eric Johnson.
The VA wasn't the root problem. It was the writers. They turned Sam into the exact humorless spec ops guy that Ironside specifically helped Ubisoft craft an antithesis to. As a result, Johnson just isn't given a chance to actually embody who Sam was because the script called for a super serious Sam and not the one we all know and love, which ruined the character in this outing. I could forgive him sounding thirty years younger if the writing team at least got the characterization right.
RatsFunHouse101 His point went right over your head. Ironside's voice brought Fisher to life. Ironside WAS Sam Fisher. This new guy is okay, but his gruffness and heroically sinister attitude is nowhere near Michael Ironside.
- Put me on trial and i will spill every secret i know. I've already won. - There's always another option. *Sam gives Sadiq a big hug and Teletubbie Cells appears from the snow* Best ending ever, you can't deny it :)
Loved this game, and although the new guy who voiced Sam isn't bad at all, I just cant get used to him being the new Sam. You can't have Ironside do his legendary voice for Sam for 5 games and then just decide to change him for no good reason. *sigh* I guess we'll just have to get used to this new Sam Fisher, but it's something I can tolerate as long as they keep making the games as good as they did here (IF they decide to make another, which I hope they do).
There is a good reason. They needed a new voice actor that could also do the physical mo-cap which included facial features. Ironside is too old to do what was required for the character of Sam. In Conviction, they used mo-cap for the physical animations, but there's a noticeable different between the physical performances and the vocal performances.
CH Gorog You can just use someone to do the mo-cap and then have Ironside do the voice. They just didn't want to do it because obviously they just wanted to save the money.
OTBASH Not likely given the production value of Blacklist. They did have mo-cap for Conviction and then had Ironside do the voice, but that's incredibly limiting in terms of animating the character, especially when facial reactions are so critical in character performance.
Uhm what they didnt told they where actually lying about all of this thing and ofc who cant blame ubi for keeping it secret. Irondisde stated that he had cancer and he tought that he would die but he got luck and he is back on top
I have bought this game 3 times on Wii U, 360 and PS3 and finished it 100% online and offline 3 times. I love this game! BTW: I got 2 of the versions with Sam Fisher spec ops watch, figurine etc.
SirLugash : I barely payed full price for all 3 combined. UBI had 50% off on all pre-order games in 2013, so i ordered 6 games and payed for 3. Later i bought Collector's Editions on sale. 70% off on 360, and 90% off. Limited Editions and Collector's Editions always goes on sale after they have collected dust on shelve months after release. :)
I kind of hope Kobin is somehow involved in another Splinter Cell title. I loved the interactions with him. While I do miss Ironside's voice it definitely could have been worse.
Go to Kickass Torrents to see it. Since the game has 3 more days left for the release, they still have uploaded a Splinter Cell: Blacklist on XBOX 360 before the release. I do know that they are pre-uploading. Size: 16.28 GB
Didn't get the shine it deserved. Fisher always felt untouchable but in this there were times were you felt sam was punching above his weight with Sadiq. 10/10 in my book.
Thank u for uploading, one of yhe best games for me on ps3 in 2013. Loved the story, characters, graphics, voice acting and online co op maps.. cant stop playing! Peace from the middpe east! Bahrain exactly!
this helped a lot since random cutscenes had no audio on my copy lol. I would've never known almost anything about the bunker takeover or the virus or some other crap lol
I really miss hearing Michael Ironsides voice for Sam, this new voice actor they have is not working for me...like at all. I don't know, I could be making more of it than it needs to be but I just don't like Sam's new voice. He sounds a little like a bored Anthony Jeselnik..
I don't understand at the end how Sadiq said that if he was dead the 12 nations would go to war with the United States, and yet the U.S declared him dead on national television.
if you go under extras in the pause menu Megiddo is one of the organizations they mentioned, seems like Megiddo is the one pulling the strings on the blacklist attack
The graphics are nice.... But Sams voice... It just doesn't feel right without him. It looks like a fun game. It just kinda... ruins the immersion. I did like how they kept the same actor for Kobin. He's such a cool dude. Even though he's a bad one.
It's funny, when this all started, Grim wasn't much younger than Sam, maybe a decade. Now all of a sudden she might as well be as young as Charlie and Briggs.
Nice work. I had to come here as soon as the cutscene of Sam getting captured in London clipped out on me. I didn't know what was going on and I wasn't about restart that section lol

Great work once again Gamer's Little Playground. I saw your other cut scene of God Of War the new one. Awesome game bro. I wish they had Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist for PS4. By the way I also saw your documentary on WAR. That was a great documentary and keep up the great work. Oh by the way I am one of your biggest fan.
I love your videos! I just subscribed, and for someone like me who can't afford to buy PS4, it's just like playing whenever I watch your videos! Gamer's Little Playground is the best!!
damn well from reading these comments i guess im the only guy that likes the new voice. i mean come on they had to replace ironside eventually and thick about it they wanted to reinvent sam fisher they need a fresh younger sounding voice. i liked ironside as much as you guys but im tottaly happy with the voice acting and general approach of the new sam.
The Engineers knew the troops wouldn't pull out of the countries they were in, so Sadiq used the Blacklist attacks to cause the contingency that would backup all military data. Sadiq would use that data and send it to all 12 nations the Engineers have in their favor and try to get them to rise up and take America
I always died when fighting this boss at the end. When fighting sadiq with a knife click the X button for MASH. i am confused what should i do.... Please tell me how. Just tap the X button Once or Repeatedly or HOLD while shaking the controller? Thank you friend
I don't know why they didn't just call the "Engineers" Megiddo. It's like no one who can make a game or movie has good decision making skills anymore. Or they just don't care about making the perfect game.
Angelmaker44 Sorry about that man, all the old videos got automatic mid-roll ads if you didn't have any manual ones. I usually only but only 1 or 2 in the middle depending on how long it is. Should be fixed now.
TooMuchPac i don think so . i played Blacklist so many times and replayed it over and over again . i only gave conviction one play tru . the game was not that great .
TooMuchPac i really dont see how they are the exact same . once i got done with Conviction i put it away and never went back . with blacklist i beat it ever mission a 3 times already and im still playing the game its so much fun . conviction was of like this .
Agreed. Blacklist has expanded the game play of Conviction and add those traditional delicious good'o sneaky warfare back. Every mission can be played at least 3 times in Blacklist, so many fun things to try. In Conviction you are forced to kill, it will be a bit awkward if you are familiar with the old games. To me the gameplay of Blacklist is almost flawless, apart from the fact that enemies are not smart enough to see your shadows, even in the highest difficulty. They used to be able to in Double Agent.
Nanorisk yeah.. i feel like they dumbed the ai down in blacklist. The game feels a little bit too dimensional and there isn't that seem feeling of stress i used to get in the old games. i actually liked conviction on the first playthrough. It was interesting to play as a badass sam fisher for once rather than someone who can't even hold a gun straight.
Kobin... is, what, a team member now? Kobin the crime boss from Malta, who killed Archer/Kestrel, helped Reed, and murdered some girl to stand in for Sarah's corpse, along with plenty of other people? I feel like I'm going to puke. What next? Sam enlists some war criminals, some serial killers? When do good guys show up and wipe out 4th Echelon to save innocent lives?
Extremely underrated game. Definitely one of my favorites.

Despite the game technically being a sequel to Conviction, it plays out much more like a reboot.

It's like an actual moive I FUCKING LOVE IT!
I love how they made the guy who ran over a child on purpose a comic relief

They have dramatically changed Sam's character in blacklist. He acts like a douchebag all the time
