  • I have wondered for quite some time if analog synthesizers could be useful in Hardstyle music. Analog synths are not common (afaik) in Hardstyle, due to their limitations (low polyphony, limited modulation capabilities etc). But you can actually use analog for Hardstyle, especially if you go for oldschool styles of Hardstyle. The Alesis Andromeda A6 is a great example of a powerful analog synth, since it has 16 voices of polyphony and it is also multitimbral. I know that Showtek has (or used to have) one, which can be seen here (although it is only used as a midi controller to control the Virus TI in this video): • FM Synth Tip: Walt Jen...
I use the Behringer DeepMind 12 analog polyphonic synthesizer. To create the "supersaw" sound, I simply just set the synth to unison-6 mode and then I applied a lot of detune. It is not a supersaw per say since a supersaw operates in a single oscillator (thus it only uses 1 voice per key, despite that 7-9 detuned sawtooths are playing simultaneously), but the sound is very similar. I can definitely see the DeepMind 12 being great for early Hardstyle (as you can hear at the end when I, albeit very poorly, play a simple melody that captures the early Hardstyle feel pretty well imo).

I didn't even know that the Deepmind can also do polyphony...i miss that on the Neutron!
The Sound is not original Supersaw, but can be used for Hardstyle/Trance
