In the sound recording, I see only 2 options ON or OFF. I am unable to see the options you are talking about in the video.

Thanks, I just purchased an EOS M50 and was was trying to figure out what settings needed to be changed, if any, upon adding an ext mic. Have looked at the user manual, help guide and numerous videos but no where are the setting discussed in adding an ext microphone.

Really helpful. I was connecting mic to camera but sound recording was auto and hence lot of noise.
What about if I connected my external mic but I want to use the camera audio? there’s any way to recover the audio?

Is the external mic TRS jack or TRRS jack? Make sure it is TRS jack and fully inserted in the port. It should work.

I have the Canon R50 using the Fulaim x5 mic system. How do I listen to the external mic recording through my ear buds when playing back 4k clips? Each time, I only hear the darn R50 internal mic!

Hi! Please Help me. I bought Rode SC2 3.5mm TRS Patch Cable for Cannon 700D. I did check its a 3.5 TRS jack but audio is not getting recorded through zoom H1. I kept the audio recordings in Manual mode itself. I did all the settings as you said. Please help ASAP
Is there some other specific instructions to be followed? Try using a Lav mic as i showed, to see if it works. If it does, then may be the Rode is not working. Also try firmly inserting the Rode inside.
@@fundoorajat Thank you. It actually worked. I was able to record the sound. The sad part is that I test the sound recording with local made aux cable with same settings and their was absolutely no difference in sound quality. I then bought a lengthy one and now can take the recorder much closer to the speaker.

I didn't hear a difference either, but thanks for pointing out the menu items to change. What would be really interesting is to do a third recording with the same mic going into a Zoom recorder. I have always wondered if going into a Zoom recorder yields better sound quality than the same mic going directly into the camera. if so, then I can probably leave my recorder at home and just plug straight into the Canon.

sorry super late reply im sure u figured it out but if u put the dial (above the on/off) on M it will bring up more settings when u go to the sound recording menu :)

Once external mic setting is done as mentioned by you, after that will I be able to shoot my videos in auto focus mode with the audio input from the same external mic. Or, is it that external mic like boya m1 can work with canon 200D only in Manual mode?
This question is very important for me as I have to shoot my videos in Auto focus mode only, manual mode is out of question. Pls reply
You can use the external mic with auto focus on video. I shoot my videos using external mic both in auto and manual modes.
Do you have to do the adjustment to manual mode everytime you unplug the mic and plug it back in?

It sucks that I have to set my camera to manual, I relied on having my camera in auto to film 🤣
I'm having trouble getting my yeti mic to sound good, no matter the gain on the yeti there's always static noises in the background. Maybe because it's a USB mic and I'm not using a condenser? Not sure but I'm getting frustrated, might get a Rhode instead.

Hi, good question but i doubt this will work. Why don't you try and if it doesn't work you can return the adapter to amazon or the store :)

I am not sure about that camera model. If the camera have a aux input for mic then you can use it.

brother what about the wind filter option and attenuator option should we enable both of them?
Wind Filter:
When set to [Enable], it reduces wind noise when there is wind outdoors. This feature works only with the built-in microphone.
Note that [Enable] will also reduce low bass sounds, so set this function to [Disable] when there is no wind. It will record a more natural sound than with [Enable].
Attenuator:
The attenuator can reduce audio distortion in noisy environments.However, in quiet environments, it lowers the sound-recording level.

how about the wind filter/attenuator settings?? im just confused with my settings.. It doesnt sound loud enough when im posting my vlog.. btw im using canon 250d and boya mm1 for my mic... tia..
You can play with the settings. if it is low, you can increase it however it may catch more noise. So you can then use noise reduction in post processing.
Or you can record low sound and noise and then increase the sound during post.

Which type of canon is that ?
Does this work on a canon Rebel T7? I tried this and when I plug the mic jack in it tells me that “Still photo shooting is not possible in movie mode.” I am at a loss and it is too late to return this wireless mic.
Which mic jack does the camera have? Does it have a 3.5 mm aux port? If yes then the mic should work.
Rajat Gupta I just found out last night that this version of the canon Rebel T7 has no external mic capabilities. 😫

No i did not, by now i have tried lot of mics and i can say that almost all of them have some kind of background noise. Depends on your settings as well. A good mic has little noise while cheap one has more.

Hi I liked the video and almost turned it off because you did not state at the beginning of the video the sound was not adjusted to show a before and after..please let us know from the beginning..
In order to make it work I guess you need a powered microphone. I have tried with a non powered microphone and it did'nt work.
So the audio from the external mic will replace the regular built in camera mic audio?

Which mic are you using? Is it powered by external power?

I am not sure but if you have an aux port like the headphone jack on your phone, then it will work.

@@vertix6375 hmm in this case i don't think you can connect the mic. By the headphone jack i meant 3.5mm audio jack for mic.
