At least it has not been labeled as "total war destroyer". It looks good as a game and I personally have already got it. I also am looking forward to, another roman city builder, Nova Roma.

I’ve got around 12ish hours and I love the heck out of this game. I’m glad your making a video to show other about it. Simple, total war esque combat. Amazing city building fun. 9.5/10 for me. Two nit-picks are the gods are kind of hard to deal with in the beginning of the game. As well as combat could use just a tiny bit more polish and depth I feel. I really like how late game becomes a designer almost. Tons and tons of fun. Thank you for this awesome video Andy!
Nice going to try this out, seems like a great game to sync some time in! Battles and combat in the city looks so fun, an aspect that usually is not the best in these citybuilder genres.
@@ReadingOcelotl I was honestly surprised by the field battles! They’re not super deep or anything, but the visual spectacle makes it much more fun to recruit the units and it feels like you’re actually leading an empire more
Those small square villas did make me think about Populous 2. Not that Populous 2 actually looks like that and I think its single tile terrain deformations that a little like the roofs but well played devs thats a super positive connection my brain just made. Will be checking this one out I think
I really like playing Citadelum, good graphics, good city building system, decent resource management system, and both the trade system and gods interactions are refreshing. But overall, I think it deserves a C+, or at best a B-. The city builder is a bit too simple, watered down, and lacks flexibility. In general, it lacks a feeling of immersion, and many aspects of the game seem two-dimensional, limited, straight forward, and tedious. But I'm still going to keep playing it, with the hope that the devs really push ahead and make this a game to remember.
Co-op version where you have your own cities but can work together with trade, diplomacy and maybe even visit and work on each other's cities. Additionally research and technologies learned would be cool rather the the typical you just get everything.
@@TheKingofRome1 you should definitely check it out, I don’t find it cartoony at all compared to other city builders, many who are way more cartoony than this!
@Andy's Take Hi will you be making vods on the new Distant Worlds 2 Shakturi DLC? There's been a huge amount of changes since your last vod(which I really enjoyed btw). Would be great to hear your thoughts on it.
I think they could imrpove the game by just adding some exstra stuff to make the map more clean and also the battles look at bit rough with how the Ai works also there should be units doing clashing against another(like 1 on 1 clashing during battles)
Tbh this has come close to civcity rome which is arguably the best roman city builder but still hasnt topped it. Interiors, yes, finally, but lifeless, in civcity each civilian had a name, walked to get each resource and left it in a spot on the house. Lifeless house upgrades and 2 house types, upgrading only gives a "new paint" and "new interior" with a stat boost which is that more people live inside... While in civcity the whole house upgrade tier are different and in depth, with insulas that can be placed ON TOP of store stalls (i have never ever seen this repeated) and domus, villas and palaces all starting from a sack... Plus the people that "live inside" on civcity grow organically (lone civilian-marriage-child-slave buying). The only place thats more developed on citadelum is combat except the part where you receive an attack... The "guard" system... Dude, i want to receive the attack of an entire army... But yeah, it has more troop types, map battles and more military buildings. Oh, and also the god thing, which is new. Thats it, on the rest civcity is superior. Man i wish they remastered that game or remake it...
Btw, some people believe civcity Rome is a trashy 2000 Roman city builder but man, firaxis were cooking, COOKING back there, I know some of the things I say on the comparison are unbelievable, try it out, it's as in depth as I just described, even Andy which I'm sure hasn't played it should do a spotlight on it following citadelum. I'm sure not even 10% of your subs have played civcity rome
I cant tell you how many hours iv put into Grand Ages Rome over the years. You must have also played Imperium Romanum gold i somewhat perfered over grand ages rome. Its been awhile since i played them or anything like them... get in L#### we're going shopping

This game is radiating Caesar IV vibes and I love it!
@@TheRealKenobi the music is great too, something I forgot to mention in the video!

Yes! Good choice by Andy:) Evers time other Channels announce "TW Killer" its like a prophecy for the downfall.
Bought this after watching your video. Completed the campaign and started the sandbox mode. Realy enjoyed this game! Thank you for that!

Black and White was a lovely tech demo, but a terribly tedious game.
Gods walking around is very "Lord of Olympus, Zeus" and "Lord of Atlantis, Poseidon". But that game have mythological creatures and heroes too.
The combat looks surprisingly fun! Its not trying too hard to be more than it is which is appealing. Nice overview!

Impressive. Leagues better than some AAA & "AAAA" dev teams 👌🏼
I bet they’re happy they dropped this before the new Anno game set in Rome
This game looks like something that would be possible for ios integration I’d be so made if they haven’t made plans for something like that

"An indie dev made this..." makes me think of one person, not an indie game studio with several devs. Looks good anyway!
