@@dozenbuzzard2662 there are 2 bugs in it. Bankrupt AI crash and AI camera at end turn crash. Only other bug I know of is in ships and it's rare for me to get it.

I can understand normal shogun 2(Because factions only have like 1 or 2 unique units and there is no unique or different ways to complete the campaign) but fots doesn't make sense for me
I feel that he cheated though because he claimed to rank campaigns but actually ranked games. Napoleon has multiple campaigns, and it's main 2 campaigns easily beat many campaigns like Caesar in gaul, and Wrath of Sparta.

The Court System would work nicely with a Medieval III due to the decentralization of the Kingdoms during Earlier Stages of the Middle Ages. Though we need games set in different periods as well, ones we haven't seen yet for sure.

Altough my favourite campaign is hands down Immortal Empires, I remember spending an obcene amount of hours in Medieval 2 (with Total realism mod). It was a treat. CA please make Medieval 3. No need to change any mechanics, just do M2 with better graphics
The only problem that Med II is lacking is the fact that it has no naval battle. And if they add new features for Electral counts of Empire from Warhammer III and Republic system of Empire i guess it would be nice again.
I played the fuck out of Shogun 2 espeacally fall of the samurai and i dont think the campaigne is anywhere near as in depth plus the battles after a while become laughably easy and in the end its just one steamroll, espeacally if you exploit the fleet bombardments. Pharao feels much more like a challange to me .

I would place Attila ahead of Pharoah just because of the time period, but I totally agree with you on number one. No other game (especially its mods) has held my attention for longer than this game has. Still going strong in 2024 and into 2025. I can't see myself not playing this game well into the future.
Medieval total war 2 hat some of the best troop variety ive seen apart from the fantasy one, if you unlock all the factions. I cant velieve they had so many good systems and discarded em in more modern ones

Having played Rome TW and Medieval II on release I'd say that Rome TW was better. But I understand that's a personal take. Can't talk about Pharaoh though since I haven't played it yet.
I thought that every campaign meant all those mini-campaigns as well. Like the Italian, Egyptian and Peninsular campaigns for Napoleon Wrath campaign for Empire DLC campaigns for Med II ROTS and FOTS for Shogun 2 etc.
Bro I enjoyed Dynasties so much, I truly don't get all the hate it recieved, like holy hell, it was one of the most immersive tough and brutal campaigns I've done in Legendary, and I played Stainless Steel on Medieval 2, of course it doesn't have the depth of Medieval but it was such a good trade off for all the things that does right.
Attilas Campaign aren't really fun. Probably the best land battles in the franchise but the Campaign is so punishing that it sucks the fun out of it (maybe it's a skill issue).
Medieval 2 total war Vanilla beyond mode fixes many of the problems. Bigger map and more factions. More traits to characters and more in-depth units to every faction.
They can be higher than one another based off of what you like. If you prefer historical scenarios and neat battle lines and conventional tactics rome II is just way better. If you prefer insane unit variety, bombastic effects, and a quicker pace game warhammer III is way better.

I agree with shogun 2 being quite low, I love the game and think its awesome but its designed in a way where you have to use all of the features and mechanics at all times every time. In that its very well balanced and interesting but very linear in campaign possibilities. shogun 2's campaign reminds me more of a well designed board game.
I know Warhammer 3 is a solid game with quite a visual spectacle but as a total war fan, and an old school one at that, you managed to convince me that Pharaoh is above Rome 1, but you didn't manage to convince me that Warhammer total war is above Rome 1. Id say that's your biggest error, that and whatever people are saying about shogun though I haven't played it so can't pretend I'm worthy to comment on that aspect.

Love Medieval 2 for the mods. Imo its campaign map is an ugly mutated malformed mass of green and tan tissue. It takes mods like Tsardoms or DaC with custom textures to make it look nice. Attila's great too, my favorite unmodded TW campaign, though I'll admit I've never finished an Attila campaign to 450AD. I usually get to 420AD or kill Attila and call it quits, there's no challenge left afterward.

gonna be real I really just think campaigns should just serve as context for the tactical battles, and I think this video misses that whole point (and why there is a big stink over NTW's low ranking). The point of NTW's campaigns were to replicate and relive the actions of the man himself, and I think the European campaign does a fantastic job at that. The actual Napoleon never really thought about Anatolia or Egypt and so on post 1800, because he saw himself as a European monarch focusing on European things. The NTW campaigns force you as Napoleon in a way to focus on the big threats of Britain and then later on Russia, and given how utterly wonky and broken the ETW/NTW campaign AI could be, I think it's actually a case of "less is more" here.

You greatly seem to overvalue family trees when the majority of the community feels like that mechanic has always felt forced and a major deterrent to players. Most asked question on most TW foeums is “how do I turn off character aging” total war warhammer doesn’t have that annoying bullshit and is much more popular because of it. If I play a Lu Bu campaign, I want to play as Lu Bu longer than 20 turns before he dies and I am stuck playing his historically insignificant son… Population system? Warhammer does have a population system…have you played it? Also building fortifications was always so exploitable in every game that included the feature. I honestly started not using it because it was so easy to win using it. Agreed we need medieval 3

They put up with it at best but every single time CA has asked players about the feature it’s been largely regarded as a major negative feature in every game where it’s been included…also the top mod for most of those games is a mod that disables it…so where have you been the last 20 years?

Most people hate them, because we all just love having lords we spent 3 hours building up, just to randomly die and all your work is lost. pharaoh is 2nd really? I thought most of TW community skipped on this one. I don't doubt that you can like it but to me numbers indicate weather something is succesful or not and for instance people still play Rome 2 or Medieval 2 today even tho they're old games. However Pharaoh has less daily numbers than these old games on steam charts. I have been refraining myself from buying the game. If you say the campaign map mechanics are good then perhaps we should just wait until they implement them in a time and place that most of us care about. It's time for another Medieval game.
There's just no way that the map-painting exercise that is the Medieval 2 imperial campaign is better than 3K or even Shogun 2. I would barely rank it above Rome 2. There's literally nothing to do in the campaign - no goals, no endgame crisis, just nothing but map-painting. Yeah Mongols and Timurids will show up, but unless you're in the Middle East you can just ignore them. Also the worst campaign in any TW game is the Rise of the Samurai DLC. Just the main Shogun 2 campaign but way shorter and with shitter units.
I just want a new empire total war... They moved so far away, and they kept leaving games with bugs. I just wish the Empire 2 mod got an update.

Empire Total War, the masterpiece where you can destroy France on turn 1 as England.
France having only one province is a bit stupid in that regard, Its the same with the netherlands and its economy being 100% nukeable on turn 1
Fall of the Samurai campaign where you create your own Republic is still one of my favorite challenges. Amazing video idea!

MEII also had weapons and armor upgrades that looked cool as heck when going up the tiers!

TW3K was made for fans of romance of the three kingdoms and dynasty warriors, which i am, so its one of my favorite ones.

pharaoh is 2nd really? I thought most of TW community skipped on this one. I don't doubt that you can like it but to me numbers indicate weather something is succesful or not and for instance people still play Rome 2 or Medieval 2 today even tho they're old games. However Pharaoh has less daily numbers than these old games on steam charts. I have been refraining myself from buying the game. If you say the campaign map mechanics are good then perhaps we should just wait until they implement them in a time and place that most of us care about. It's time for another Medieval game.
There's just no way that the map-painting exercise that is the Medieval 2 imperial campaign is better than 3K or even Shogun 2. I would barely rank it above Rome 2. There's literally nothing to do in the campaign - no goals, no endgame crisis, just nothing but map-painting. Yeah Mongols and Timurids will show up, but unless you're in the Middle East you can just ignore them.
Also the worst campaign in any TW game is the Rise of the Samurai DLC. Just the main Shogun 2 campaign but way shorter and with shitter units.
