Oh bummer! Any idea how long 10lb lasts or how many loaves of bread it makes? How do you store 10 lbs of the stuff? Did he mention how long before they get the 5 lbs back In?

I'm trying to visualize a 10lb container, guess I'll know soon. At the rate I make the bread, I'll never have to buy egg white powder for years. Will be inventing different ways to use it 😊.

So easy and cheap to make your own! Whip the whites to soft peak then spread on dehydrator tray . 140* for a couple of hours. Turns out beautiful! I dozen eggs yields about a pint of powder.

I also purchased this. it has fillers so it’s not suitable. I returned it. It’s for body builders shakes. Just really felt they should have a recommendation on its usages. I called, girl said sugar alcohols are naturally occurring and it’s not. She lied. Company is deceitful.
Glad more are reviewing this New World brand. Had a problem with a bag not being sealed properly. Was an obvious manufacturing problem, not shipping issue. After 4 emails I finally got a response blaming FedEx even though I submitted pics and it was clearly on New World. They didn't offer a refund, discount or even an apology. I've since returned to other options. I read numerous other reviews questioning the legitimacy of their egg white protein. To my knowledge the company has failed to provide any sort of documentation as far as guaranteed analysis with that product.
If you bought it on a credit card…your credit card company will refund it if the company won’t reply and misrepresented the product.
The five pound jar is now 95.00! In two months it has gone up 20.00!
Bulk supplements also tastes sweet - it has monk fruit. I called them because it would NOT whip - they said their product is for shakes or supplement not for baking - so sad because it was soooo expensive! They won’t refund or anything
I have the NOW brand and have used it for a while. However, I recently noticed that there are 2 g of carbs per 1/4 cup serving. Eggs don't have any carbs in them and I was kind of suspicious that they may be adding something to the powder to give it those 2g of carbs. I also have bought small packets of egg white powder from the grocery store (which are advertised for making meringue). The ingredients are only egg whites, and they have zero carbs! The NOW brand seems to have a lot of certifications for purity, but I don't understand where the carbs are coming from.
An egg does have carbs. It is very small amount around .4 grams per egg. In the USA if it is less than .5 grams a serving you can label it as 0 grams per serving.

I am so glad you made this video. Several months ago, I bought the New World egg protein powder. I could never get it to stiffen. I kept trying, but there was nothing I did that would make it work. I finally put it on a back shelf and thought I would try again at some later date. It was a 3-pound bag and I just couldn’t throw it away. I am relieved to know it wasn’t that I was doing something “wrong.” Thank you Nili.

The same EXACT thing happened to me regarding the new world egg protein powder. I did a little research and decided to give it a try and I was disappointed. So I decided ( to use it up) to use it as an add on kinda like whole egg powder to the bread and it turned out really great for me . Thank you Indigo for all you do, your egg bread recipes have been life changing for me. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Now brand 5lb egg white powder $68.04 on March 21, 2023. But if you have subscribe and save sufficient to get the full discount, it's only $57.83 with the 15% discount. This is in the United States. Can't speak for anywhere else.

That company caters to bodybuilders who want to bulk up - they drink egg whites like they're milkshakes. But there's no excuse for getting your labels mixed up. The batch you got was obviously stevia sweetened and the added lecithin is what is preventing it from whipping up - it's an emulsifier. I buy their protein powder as it's delicious and use it as a base for keto ice cream but they need to answer their emails. I would have hunted them down and called them...
The smallest they have is a 2 pound bad for $57. No 5 pound bag

About the NOW brand on amazon, companies tend to ditch expiring content at deeply discounted price points. If you have room to freeze it you can prolong that shelf life some.

I've used Judy's quite a bit and it works great. I don't know if Rose Acre Farms is the ONLY supplier, but if it is the same, then great.
To reconstitute (like for scrambled eggs), you can just use a regular spoon and bowl (or pyrex measuring cup for liquids, which is convenient for mixing and pouring), and mix powder and room temperature water. It won't want to mix, but it will slowly do so over 10 minutes or so. As long as you have patience it works just fine, with less to clean up. Until you understand that time plays a role, you might think it is a failure (to mix).
The volatility of egg prices has been so weird. Last time I priced the egg white protein it was almost exactly 2x the cost compared to the last time we stocked our egg protein powder, so instead of doubling the price we decided to let it run out of stock until the costs are back down.
Yeah, it's been crazy. Ryan told me that the rise in prices hasn't been primarily due to inflation but more due to the bird flu. He said that big companies like Walmart and Costco were buying up all the shell eggs and there were just less available because of all the flocks that had to be put down. Then that didn't leave much left over for making into powder. He's hopeful that things will level out as flocks get rebuilt. Have you ever looked into Rose Acre Farms and sourcing your egg white powder from them? They're good people

If you have a need for the powder and have access to reasonalbly priced eggs, it's seriously easy to make your own powder. The cost of having it done makes a lot of these recipes not worth it in my opinion. It takes around 36 eggs to make around a cup of powder, but the cost is far cheaper. And the time and effort is worth it. The prices have climbed far too high now that the demand has risen.

Make your own. It's easy and doesn't take a long time. Whites Of 12 lg eggs makes 2 cups. Don't have to have a dehydrator, you can use your oven.
Chris Cooking Nashville says the Now brand has $40 off on Amazon sometimes and he stocks up when it happens. He says it is usually $40 off for only two days.
I just tried recipe using bulk supplements egg white protein powder and it did NOT whip to stiff peaks at all! I called the company and they told me their egg white powder is meant for supplements only and not for cooking

the powder came from. I went on their website and they resource globally..They mentioned
China. In the first place I want egg protein that comes from the United States. Plus I want to
support our farmers. I don't care that NOW tests it because you can't be sure of where the
eggs are coming from. So to me it's a no brainer. I'd rather pay more to get a product that I'm

Isnt there a difference between egg white powder and egg protein. ? Because I thought the protein in an egg, was in the yolk.
Cage free is better but still not as good as Free Range. The terms are tricky as cage free doesn't mean they are outside. Costco eggs are Free Range vs another brand they sell that is Cage Free. Going to the website of the cage free company, you can see the buildings they are in. I wish I could find the egg white powder in free range, but at least cage free is a step in the right direction.

Have you ever tried Ginger frosting, it's a great replacement for ice cream. It only takes a tiny bit of Allulose to sweeten it just a bit. I make it with home squeezed ginger juice. It's important you don't add any water as that would interfere with the Frosting. I find if you grind up the Ginger, eventually you get juice by itself. I take coconut oil that's been refined, so it has no carbs. Add a little ginger juice, a little Allulose and blend it with stick blender to get it really smooth. Adding some soften butter and whip with a mixer, to add a little air. Until you get a frosting like consistency. This is where the coconut oil really adds a lot to it. As it will set up over time and not be so runny, yet melt-in-your-mouth as you eat it.
Doesn't the finished product have a very strong ginger taste?
@@Survivin2Thrivin you add just enough Ginger taste, to give it a taste. More or less depending on how much you want, same with the sweetener. You can actually use any flavoring you like, but I'm trying to get the ginger into my diet.
Since it list "egg protein" maybe it had egg yolk in it as well since yolk contain some protein.
It listed 0g fat on the label... But that doesn't really mean anything does it!?
"Egg white powder" and "egg white protein powder" are not necessarily the same thing. It seems that besides the addition of sugar alcohol to that brand, the egg whites were hydrolyzed, which breaks down powder into shorter strings, thus easier to dissolve in smoothies, but useless as a cooking substitute for powdered egg whites.
I am considering buying a home freeze dryer to make my own egg white and whole egg powder, since I have an inflammatory reaction to commercially raised eggs, but I can eat unlimited amounts of pastured eggs without issue. It's probably my sensitivity to grains and soybeans that's the problem.

Egg whites are pure protein. Egg white protein powder IS egg white powder
That's not always the case. Some companies will add sweetners and / or emulsifiers. I would have never thought to order egg protein powder from a bodybuilding website to cook with.
At 5:49 when you hold up the ingredient list for New World Egg Protein, I notice on the bottom it says under ingredients - Sunflower lecithin and also Stevia. Now I don't have your knowledge of baking by any means, but it would seem that this is why it isn't beating as it should. I do know in all my years of baking that you can't get ANY grease or oil on the beaters when you whip egg whites - and here it has a Sunflower product in it that must contain sunflower oil! I also know sugar isn't added until AFTER the egg whites are beaten and yet stevia is already in the product! I also don't understand how they can say on the front of the bag that it is 100% egg white! No wonder this product didn't work for you! I would still pursue this problem with the company and include the fact that you would continue to advise your YT subscribers not to use this product because of the misrepresentation and consequent failure of it to work as advertised since it is mislabeled. You may not get a response from them but I can almost guarantee that all their emails are read and nothing negative in advertising or word of mouth is worse for the company - it will get their attention!!! You are too dedicated to helping everyone here perfect your recipes without having to purchase a product like that! Thanks for all you do and have done! Your recipes mean so much to me as I start eating keto and carnivore and adjusting my life! Blessings to you!
I was recently looking at egg white powder and found one that was 100% egg white and a second from the same brand that was labeled as "sports nutrition" containing lecithin. I had the same doubts as you about whipping with lecithin. My guess is that the sports version has lecithin to make it easier to mix into a protein shake while the 100% egg white would be best for baking. Several reviews confirmed this.

Thank you for this post! I have been looking for reviews about the Sport Protein product and haven't found any. Most of the reviews are for other products. I just bought the5# pound box, which has gone up to $87.00 but they still honored the $10.00 coupon! And I like that the chickens are somewhat cage free, which I haven't found in any other company.

Great information. Before I saw this I priced egg white powder on Amazon this morning and 5 pounds of the NOW egg white protein is %70.94. So it is apparently staying reasonably stable. I ordered it because I had not seen your video at that time but will try the one you recommend next time!

Not entirely pleased with my order from RAF or SportProtein or whatever. I placed the order on 4/23- for a 10 lb pail. I have nothing to keep this so I figured the pail was a good idea. I did not get the, I got a bag 10lbs of egg white powder. They are out of the pails. There was not communication with me about any of this. Not the 18 days to get it or the change in what I ordered. Not the same brand. I lost my mind when it wouldn't fluff. I was fuming mad. Worst was the fake reviews on these fake egg white powders with comments like "Great for Keto bread".
When I hear the word “egg protein“ that could be including the yolk, unless it specifically says egg whites. So I don’t think I would’ve purchased a protein egg powder if it did not specify egg whites, because I know that the yolk certainly would keep it from whipping up. Packaging is always tricky and probably meant to be… So, the protein in the bag is 100% egg protein, but it certainly doesn’t specify that it’s the only thing in the bag. It’s just sharing the protein value and that’s it.
However, in the “ingredients“ I see Stevia. Well, if you’re using powdered Stevia of any kind, it often does have an original mix to it, or some other additives as Stevia and its natural state would be like dust. So this is some thing that plays too, “how would we possibly know this?“ I only found out recently, that this is how Stevia and other or healthy choices for sweeteners work…
Someone went to court over a bag of supposed non-GMO product. At least that’s what they thought they were buying. However, once they got to court, the company stated that they never said what was in the bag was going to be non-GMO only the bag itself. Which was true, the bag was definitely non-GMO, because it came from a source that did not have GMO in it and therefore the company won against the people that were prosecuting.
This seems to be very prevalent in our country for some very odd reason. Do you think we would have better control and understanding of the value of anything in a bag that’s being purchased by the consumer. It does not seem the consumer is coming first in this at all.
So let me see if I have this right, you can't buy powdered egg whites in any brick and mortar stores (or at least I haven't found any, and I live in a large metro area), and it starts around $64.00 online??? WOW!
