Wonderful job. I'd love more Peter Green and old blues.
Oh yes!! Absolute ridiculous piece from the late Peter Green and you did it justice.
More old school blues? Yes please!!!
Why has this never popped up on my feed? Pls continue the Peter Green/ Kirwan lessons
I absolutely love that man’s playing. Peace for Peter Green. Very splendid homage to this amazing jam. Great playing. Love it when you pull out your les Paul. Good looking instrument. And even better tone. ✌️
An the topic of John Mayall, he turned 90 this past week.
You're my favorite teacher, looking forward to your follow up course I would love to see you break down,,"see my jumper hanging on the line" by R L Burnside. So far no one has gotten the rhythm right.
If you are fond of the British blues scene there are a couple of fantastic compilation albums realised in the early 80s called The Great British Blues , Barrelhouse and Boogie Bonanza (1962-1968) which has a lot of Cyril Davies, Graham Bond and Alexis Koner tracks
I got the first two volumes when they came out and found so much that I loved.
The most surprising thing is a very young Elton John who is sublime and caused me to forgive his later material
Thank you for featuring the Green god. Love him; may he RIP.
Great stuff ! As far as some of the newer blues artists go, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Lang, Robert Randolph, Gary Clark Jr., are all fantastic. I’ve seen them all and you can’t go wrong with any of them.
Well done Adrian.
Your playing and teaching is top notch along with really well done backing tracks
Thanks for your time and effort
More vintage blues. I still play Jigsaw Puzzle Blues (Fleetwood/Danny Kirwan) that I learnt from here. Look forward to learning this. Love a good blues workout.
This was terrific! I’m a big “old school” Blues fan as well. Any of the three Kings, SRV, Albert Collins, Otis Rush would work for me.
"Put me in the Band John...Im better than Eric!"
Peter Green.
The one the only.
Love them both though.
Great tutorial Adrian. There are some real gems from Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Clapton on the Beano album, Greeny on A Hard Road and not forgetting Mick Taylor on Crusade and Blues from Laurel Canyon.
Well done, from the most eclectic teacher on the net out comes the blues and you nailed it (obviously) thanks a lot.
Cool! This is great! I always liked ZZ Top's Apologies To Pearly and never realized it's The Stumble
Love that turn around, awesome job
Great choice of Blues song - Peter Green is a legend and an early part of Fleetwood Mac.. Very tasteful and smooth solo.
Great !! 😃 I really love all Peter Green stuff...thanks ! 🙏💜
Love your humilty. So many teachers are full of hype and try to impress. Your true talent impresses effortlessly.
Great lesson, approachable and challenging.
Brilliant as always, the best teacher on the planet. Adrian, now is your moment to cover the ferocious and beautiful Geordie RIP. Gutted. 'Primitive', would be good.
I only heard y'day!!
Shane AND Geordie!! Blown out!!
Requiem, Psyche any early Joke ld be up for!!
I’ve been trying to learn this for ages! Time to start again! Thank you so much.
Dude you rocked that. Brilliant.
always interesting choices & never boring! Thanks!
Well, just made my year! Thank you.
What a masterclass of blues soloing - thanks Adrian
Damn man, your improvised part was really good
Brilliant track.
Thanks, Adrian. I´m studying this one. More blues please! Cheers.
Fantastic playing. Lovin' it.
Great song and brilliantly played, well done!
I was just listening to A hard road album few days ago and thought - i want to learn The Stumble. ❤
Great choice Adrian. Thanks
As always cool stuff❤
You Really killed it my friend kudos to you!
21:53 ish: "I'm all for a little bit of stylistic inappropriateness from time to time." when unleashing one's inmost Yngwie. LMFAO Adrian! Love that 😂
Can't go wrong with tasteful 💙 blues! 🤘
Thank you! I'm "into that kind of thing".
Thanks Adrian for tackling what I think is probably the best Freddie King instrumental piece (and that's saying something)! BTW, Sonny Thompson was the piano player in Freddie King's band and also R&B and gospel singer Lula Reed's husband. A rather obscure figure, even if he was a bandleader and songwriter in his own right.
Great chops 👌👍
wow great playing
awesome lesson adrian. This is a really fun song to play and a great intermediate to advanced blues song to learn. The trickiest part of this song is definately the turnaround it seems easy but to get it in time and cleanly is actually pretty difficult.
Robben Ford mixes blues and jazz in a sublime way!
Love it!
Black Magic Woman by Peter Green, who wrote it, not Santana as many think.
Incredible rendition that Peter created. 😎🤓
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thanks!
You are a smooth player. Really nice.
We have to get you a shabby bluesman hat for Xmas! Great job. Thank you.
Thanks 😊
Thanks great session. Peter Green is the very best. Modern blues - give Laurence Jones a go. He's a really great guitarist and singer, in the style of Peter Green?
I have it on Freddie King's Hideaway album !
I prefer the older blues too.. BB, Howlin & Hubert, even some 30s big band...but you nailed the phrasing & tone well Adrian.. strange how good music leads us into more good music!!
Thanks mate, best lessons on utube!!
Sonny Thompson was a great keyboardist and arranger.
Thank Adrian! I am a fan of Peter Green also. Some great old school would be any of the "Beano" album. (Clapton)
More blues!
Adrian, you’re one of the best. If you haven’t heard it yet, check St. Louis blues by Danny Cedrone. Virtually unknown today, but absolutely one of the best versions ever. Plus, the bridge section makes this an unparalleled masterpiece in blues, imo (of course).
GA-20 are phenomenal
Great lesson as always, Adrian. I'd love to see you do a lesson on Chuck Berry's Merry Christmas, Baby. It is the season.
🔥🔥🔥
John Mayall pioneered rock music. Freddie King pioneered the life of doing it
ZZ Top Billy Gibbons plays part of this solo in one of his songs. 👍🎸😎✌️
Thanks Adrian... Awesome foundational blues lesson, great work! And where can it lead? Contemporary blues 2023 for your pleasure maestro... Check out the title track Peace Machine by Philip Sayce... Wow! He's playing his 1963 Strat. Enjoy any of his contemporary blues performances!
Have a listen to Marcus King - Wild flowers & Wine. He is a wonderful guitar player & also has a great voice.
You could try Gary Clarke Jr. and Eric Gales for a modern take on blues. Gales plays his guitar left-handed and upside down; he doesn't reverse the string order either, so it's completely upside down.
So good! Hadn't heard this but Apologies to Pearly by ZZ Top sounds very similar, wonder if Billy Gibbons was paying homage.....🤔🧐
Highly likely an homage. (Miss) Pearly (Gates) is the name of The Reverend's sunburst Les Paul
I Feel So Good by Joanna Connor is a great modern blues song.
Anything on the Fat Possum label. Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside etc etc.
Yeah mate!!!
Huge Peter Green fan. Had a reel to reel back in the day and bought A Hard Road on tape! Any original Fleetwood Mac song you like will be appreciated.
Freddy King❤
Pete Green had some work done to his guitar and the pick up was put back the wrong way round hence the unique sound, not sure which pick up, great lesson Adrian, more Pete Green would be great.
It was the neck PU. The magnet was put in the wrong way, so the 2 PU´s are out of phase. It only affects the middle position, and you need to wind down one of the volume
controls to get a fuller, but still out of phase sound.
Anything other than the sv20h with the ox attenuator? I have the same amp with a rivera rock crusher and in the cab are 1972 vintage greenbacks but i dont know how to get a tone quite like that
Nice and smooth, not stumbling at all, but I prefer Freddie Kings jump blues style version.
Check out....
Jared James Nichols
Samantha Fish
Francis Dunnery it bites! Got a blues project Tombstone Dunnery
Great video as always 👍
Gary Moore live is one of the best version, very fast. Another one is the Jeff Beck greate version with slade
Adrian what are the finger positions for the A# diminished chord.I’m confused by it
Hi, check out Love Sculpture's racing version from their album Blues Helping, Dave Edmunds is playing a 1959 Gibson 335.
I was lucky to see Peter Green play in a pub on the Fulham Road in 1982, flawless performance!
Lonnie Mack
do sonic youth
Could you do anything from moby grapes debut album.
Led zeppelin owes a lot to them imo.
More rock/ blues please Adrian like Rory Gallagher
Yea hill country all day.
Is Ariel Posen a blues player? Probably not, but worth a listen if you haven't yet.
Like deployed 👍
Check out latest by Popa Chubby
John Mayall lived in a treehouse😀
Non traditional blues eric gales circa 2017
Your welcome
Gary clark is great
you're doing fine with this "old" stuff , not much worth studying of "new" stuff ..yet and theres a few more of Freddy's or B.B.'s tunes we might have a look at first , to start with the Kings
Love it!
