    I bought a condo and just cleaned this. It's obvious it's never ever ever ever been cleaned. Omg there is gunk on the gunk 10x over. So nasty. And I paid for a cleaning lady to clean before I moved in. Thanks for your help!

    Thanks for this video. You saved me a lot of repair-technician costs! I'll also say that once I dismantled the assembly per your instructions, it was a pretty scary scene of all the gunk that was hiding in there from the last 10 years of my dishwasher. Yikes!
    Thanks again!

    The one in my apartment is slightly different - a model fbd2400 but your video was a huge help. By seeing that the grey bowl is held by the base sprayer arm unit, I was able to take it all apart.
    I pulled off the blue sprayer arm which is very different to this model, and under it was a white disk that held down the gray bowl. I twisted the disk and it unscrewed, then i was able to remove the filters and scrub them clean under running water.
    I removed the black grid and the cover plate held with 3 torx-20 screws but they were clean and there was nothing under them to clean.
    I did not see any instructions to do this in the owners manual and I had forced the big dish up and couldn't get it back in place.
    Thanks so much for this.

    Been there, done that. Thank you though. Frigidaire dishwashers just seem to be bad products overall. I have to keep babysitting mine. The _single_ spray arm somehow stops spinning mid-cycle, but I din't know why (not catching on anything). And its door pops open several times per cycle ike there's built-up pressure inside. It's super weird. But I'm through with it. It's only five months old but is a bottom-of-the-barrel model that came new with this place. Replacing it with a midrange Whirlpool tomorrrow.

    Thanks for the tutorial, dude! It helped me out a lot. I took the drain and spinning arm assembly apart completely, but I didn't pay attention to how to put it back together. Oops! I fumbled around with the draining mechanism for a little bit and through a process of trial and error I figured it out. I just could not for the life of me figure out how the spinning arm connected to the drain. Apparently it _twists_ back into place, rather than snaps back into place. You saved me the humiliation of my wife making fun of me.

      The waste hose to your drain may be clogged. It's normally a pretty thin pipe and can get pretty gross. I assume the main drain isn't clogged, or your sink wouldn't be draining.

    Can a dirty filter prevent the water from filling the machine? My dishwasher runs, but VERY minimal water gets in. Dishes SLIGHTLY wet, but still dirty. Soap pod is barely dissolved. It pops out the compartment, soaps gone, but plastic sits at the bottom by the door.

    • @DIYwithCam
      @DIYwithCam  Рік тому

      If there is a water in the bottom of your dishwasher then that could be why, which is normally due to a dirty filter or clogged waste pipe. Other than that the jet holes could be clogged, I have had that happen too and the dishes come out with food splatters on them

  • @jliu2488

    How do we clean it if it’s clogged and water is sitting there after taking off the parts?

    • @DIYwithCam
      @DIYwithCam  4 місяці тому

      Use a carpet cleaner, wet vac, or another method to get the water out and remove the debris stopping it from draining. If there is t anything in the bottom, look at the drain pipe as it may be clogged or the drain pump is bad

      Did you line the washer arm back up with the top of the slot. It can only fit in one direction because of the t shape on the shaft.

    Where do you put the salt

      I don't add salt or any drying aid to mine, just the detergent.

    It's funny how companies like #Finish tell you Not to Rinse the dishes off Before you put them in. The food has to go Somewhere...

    What do you do when it won’t turn to the left?

      Maybe you have a different model or it is jammed.

    Your screen is warped and could allow junk to slip under the edge. So is mine, and looking for a DIY fix.

      I don't think there is one. It's just a thin piece of plastic in a hot dishwasher. It makes sense why all the junk gets caught underneath the screen and not on top.

      Something could be jamming it or you have a slightly different model.

      Line up the pin with the washer arm and turn.

    I have water sitting in the space under the filter :(

      @DIYwithCam  Рік тому +2

      Mine sometimes does that. Try clearing any debris out that may be preventing the water draining fully. Some kale or lettuce could be stuck in the bottom.

      @@DIYwithCam Turning the dishwasher on and off helped drain the water. The drain hose, however, seems that little dirty; I’ll probably have to drain it, and clean it out someday

      I had the same issue. I used a turkey baster to suck the remaining water out.

      @DIYwithCam it was a thread of r/askreddit about little known facts that you are supposed to know. One of the posts said that you're supposed to clean your dishwasher filter regularly.
