      Make sure you are using .080" line and good quality string line. Honestly, you might not be able to fix it, as it's a bd design.

      Try straightening the string out as much as possible and re align the arrows. It can be challenging sometimes.

    How do you replace the head? I took it off to replace the string (which had a tiny bit stuck in the head). Now I can't get all 4 sides to properly attached. VERY BAD design!

    I ultimately found that I had a little trim stuck inside the head. Had to remove it to get it completely clear and now I can't get all 4 sides to stay connected to reattach the head!

      I just responded to your other comment, but make sure to apply a lot of pressure and turn. It's not easy, so have some time set aside for cussing and wondering why you bought such an awfully designed string trimmer.

      Are you using .080"? I have had cheap string cause issues, so I prefer something like the ugly twist brand.

      Tried a few thicknesss it just doesn’t release I always have to dismantle it and adjust it manually maybe it’s too compressed when I wind it on ? And needs to be looser

    One bad thing about this device is you can't use rechargeable batteries. Normal alkaline batteries will leak.

      they recommend .080" and the best brand I have found is Ugly twist. It lasts much longer than the Ryobi string line and cuts through thicker weeds with ease

    Energizer ultimate lithium batteries are the best way to go. They aren’t cheap but they are worth it.

    I bought this trimmer and honestly, it’s been nothing but trouble. Recently replaced it with an Echo and couldn’t be happier. To anyone looking for a trimmer, spend a little more and get a better a better one. You won’t regret it.

      Agreed. I now have a ryobi 40V and really like it but recently I just got a Bad Boy 80V and it's awesome. The craftsman was a workhorse for years but too many issues with it.

    oh my goodness, I have been looking for a solution as this. Sir, you have no idea how frustrating it was for me to not knowing how to feed the whacker with the string. I thought I had to open it and wind the string in it, then close it. I just did it this way as in the video and I have so much accomplished in the past two hours. Before, I had to stop every 5 minutes to restring my weed eater with my method. I was ready to buy a new weed eater, I am so excited I didn't have to. You have a new subscriber! Thank you very much.
