I have no doubt in my mind that if Russell had not escaped when he did, and the four of them had made it to the property in Arizona, it would've been a death sentence for those kids.

The young girl that was also locked in Jodi's house was so severely indoctrinated that it took police over 4 hours and 2 pizzas to get her out of the house. Ruby was evil LONG before she met Jodi. Ruby even fooled the prosecutor. Ruby even threw Russel under the bus in open court. That boy is a hero! The neighbor had more compassion for him than his mother ever did.
I truly hope that BOTH women have to serve the full 30 year sentence and that Ruby NEVER gets access to those kids again.
The best part of the arrest is that they were taken to a jail with the name of Purgatory!

It's quite telling how, according to Ruby's deranged journal, Russell told Ruby that he would rather have a glass of water than Ruby as his mother. The amount of abuse he must have endured to get to that point must has been enormous. Absolutely horrifying and infuriating

What a slap in the face to abused children giving their abuser a " plea deal". They should not be given any deals when it concerns the traumatic mistreatment and abuse of children.

    • @fiofiofioletta1898

The reason they got plea deals was to spare Elizabeth and Russell from having to testify and retraumatize them. I understand the frustration, but I can’t imagine how terrifying and heartbreaking it would be for the kids if they had to go in there, face her and testify.

Agreed. Their daughter, when legal to flee, called child services and she was ignored. I think how laws are written in the State of Utah raises the legal bar for police and child services to intervene in families where abuse and neglect is present. Remember, Utah is the state that legalized Freerange Parenting - which degrades the standard of care the parent is required to provide to the bare minimum imo.

When I first heard that old man on the 911 call, I could feel him breaking down, and it brought back all the trauma. It's okay. In other words, she’s an educated monster.

@@tundrawomansays694 Exactly. While Jodi technically does have a masters in counseling, in this state, anybody can call themselves a “life coach (they can also call themselves a “counselor”, whether they are trained or not…be careful, folks…). A “life coach” basically means a stranger telling you how you should live your life…and if you’re in crisis, the last thing in the world you want is some untrained, self-help guru stranger helping you.

Exactly, He put the oldest boy at the wilderness camp also. Kevin also didn't express anger at Ruby when you hear the jail phone calls. In fact I don't think he even asked much about them. He definitely knew what was going on. As for him not getting in touch with His kids for a year, he just didn't want the responsibility any more for taking care of them. It was like a vacation for him not to have to deal with the kids. He may blame it on being manipulated, but he definitely knew about Ruby's treatment of the kids and went along with it for years ,and when told to leave he was only thinking of himself. He should be in jail also. The police did drop the ball on following up with him.

Her self projection of how evil she is onto her children is profound. The fact several reports were ignored just enabled the bahviour and validated these monsters that what they were doing was ok. There needs to be strict monitoring of people who pull their kids out of school suddenly after a report and "homeschool" them.
Its the most common tactic abusers use.

Something I’ve noticed as traditional corporal punishment like spanking becoming less socially acceptable and recognised as easily slipping into abuse by child protection agencies is a rise in more insidious forms of physical punishment. These include forced exercise, exposure to extremes of temperature, use of irritants and stress positions. These all cause pain and rarely leave marks for other adults or children to notice and report. They have all be used as methods of torture as well, favoured by states wanting to maintain deniability. At this point we need to outlaw any form of corporal punishment and train those in contact with children to recognise behaviours common in children subjected to these markless forms of abuse.

What’s scary is this is nothing compared to what my mother did to me. Sexually shamed me if she caught me in the shower made me live in a empty room with nothing but the clothes on my back and a camera from 15-18 and the doorknob on my side was gone so only she could open the door and sometimes I wouldn’t make it to the bathroom so I’d have to deal with living in it. I was starved beaten shamed and sometimes I’d be made to dig holes in the property for days on end without food or water or shade and at night it would be cold and I’d sleep cross legged and wake up every 30 mins to my legs falling asleep. If she wanted to be lenient I’d stand in a corner without sitting or moving for hours 12-16 hours at a time till my legs were weak. And when Cps finally asked about me after being treated with bruises everywhere at school, my mom managed to convince them that “I was the problem” just sad. Thankfully today I’ve beat addiction and have my own family raising my daughter to never know a hatred of that kind. I’m breaking a cycle that shouldn’t have been allowed but I chose to be different after I got help. I still have moments where I look at my daughter and think “ how could any mother not love me like I do her, what was so bad about me that I was hated so?”

i just absolutely love Ruby. She was such a legacy of a mom, the best ever and it is so tragic of what took place a year ago. Even straight up until Ruby moved her youngest in with Jodi, all her children throughout their entire lives they had the best life a child could ever want in a family that size in today's economy in middle class since it is getting nearly impossible to hold onto that life style being middle class. For all the alleged claims of child abuse planted on Ruby, she still managed to keep her children looking well fed strong and gorgeously dressed. She never missed giving each of them a birthday party with presents , even all those who pissed and moaned about Eve not allowed to get her ears pierced as Eve was disgustingly rude and verbally abusive to her very own mother who was the one ensuring her daughter have a birthday party to begin with, Eve still was gifted with her ears getting pierced that Ruby eventually allowed Eve when Eve was a little bit older. To this day everything Ruby did on cam that various of youtubers commented on their channel accusing Ruby of C.A. based on what Ruby did on cam in regards to her children, turns out not one thing she did on any of those videos Ruby originally posted was not even remotely abusive towards her children. Yes even her taking away christmas gifts from her youngest two , that is not abuse. That is her right to ground or discipline a child so they learn and grow with respect for mom, dad, siblings, self and others. Gifts for Christmas is a privilege not a legal right. Everyone has the right to worship who they want but it is not a legal right to be entitled to someone buying you xmas gifts each year yet people on youtube somehow see that as abuse that Ruby did not buy gifts for Eve and Russell one year. They all forget that Ruby reminded her youngest two children throughout the year that if they did not change their behavior and learn to listen to their mother and father, they would not get christmas gifts that year. That is a very basic and easy warning to adhere to for their age range. It also was a great incentive to work for at the end of the year reward and clearly shows that mom was very invested into each of her children's lives on a daily basis. Ruby was at her wits end with Eve being so vicious in her nasty words, constantly arguing her mother, never doing her chores, always singing rebellious stupid songs to offend her mother for a reaction so Eve could then cry to others about her mother being mean to get others on her side so they would hurt her mother for her own enjoyment. Eve wasn't the nicest child nor was she a tender innocent helpless soul either. She was a compulsive liar that caused so many lives serious harm and grief. Eve even would hit bite scratch and harm other peers her age, it got so bad that teachers from school would call Ruby and Kevin furious and in desperation for something to be done about Eve's behavior or else she would be suspended or even kicked out entirely and not allowed to return. Yet everyone on youtube in the comment sections and these very videos on this channel encourages Eve to be rebellious, rude, use curse words on mom and dad, encourages violence on parents and siblings as a fun joke. And everyone claimed it was child abuse for Ruby denying her children to have or use online electronics.... well gee i wonder why that is .... hmmm could it possibly be due to all the disgusting encouragements for Eve hurt and harm their parents all the time???? AND tragically did we all forget that Russell struggled with things i rather not mention, that he involved his little sister with .... and for the love of all why would you want both of them with an online electronic device where sexual predators lurk , YET MANY ACCUSED RUBY OF CHILD ABUSE FOR NOT GIVING EVE AND RUSSELL ELECTRONIC DEVICES .... she was being a good mother for that and you all accused her of signs of child abuse..... how the hell does that make any sense at all.
