I'm a liberal and I thought American Sniper was great. I don't care what Chris Kyle did, or wether or not the movie was accurate. The film raises a good point. War isn't quite as black and white as people like to assume it is. It's a shame that soldiers who have seen so much violence don't get the help they need when they come back home.

***** Because most liberal leaning people I know dislike the movie for some reason

Should we treat the Nazi's the same, they were soldiers. What about the soldiers that fight against an illegal occupation of their country, shouldn't they be also glorified

Question dumb arse, did America invade a country in an illegal war, question, did America kill innocent people, question, did America torture people, question, did America lie about weapons of mas distruction, question, do you want me to continue about the similarities... History lesson, lol

How is that the point of the movie? It's the definition of black and white. Terrorist versus our good ol' boys. It only shows he didn't necessarily enjoy shooting children but he managed anyway (his books say otherwise but none of you read so I guess you don't care.)

SalivateMetal You understand that Chris Kyle in Eastwood's movie could very well have been a Waffen-SS soldier, right? But Eastwood is a German-Hater and American Supremacist and he doesn't see how similar the War-Heroic dogma in a 'FREE' (...?!) country in 2001/2006/2009 is compared to Europe and Germany in 1933/1939/1942...? Total failure of Intellectualism

America is closer to National Socialism (without the bloodlust against the Jews) today than ever before and it's a sad thing. What Chris Kyle fought for was anything but. He fought to defend the values of what America is supposed to be about, that which is in our Constitution, the oldest in practice of it's time.

America murdered more then half a million people of which more then 150k civilians, that is 50 9/11's just civilians only.
And the country only got worse, since US interference, this war was the main reason IS could strife in this region. So please tell me, who are the real savages here, the people defending their families, or the man killing about 200 of those people and then bragging about it in a book and on tv....

I fought Stateside against some things that were infiltrating our country on the border. How's that for lies. First, A 👍 to many on these comments... For me, Who he was, & his story, It really didn’t click until I saw the movie quite some time after the movie came out in 2014... I watched and thought it was an excellent movie that gave many of us just a little hint of what he and ALL the others who served over there had to deal with...
The hardest part for me, was the tail end when suddenly you hear what starts out like TAPS , then flows into the beautiful closing theme, Along with the LONG FUNERAL procession coming down the Interstate with all the LIGHTS & FLAG bearing Bikes driving down through the Hundreds of people lined up alongside the highway & the bridges in the rain to pay their respects to a true American🇺🇸Hero ; And I was in tears, and then the picture of COWBOY STADIUM where HUNDREDS were gathered to say goodbye... They don't need to be in afghanistan to protect us. Hell, they don't even need to kill anyone. Sometimes it's better to react than to act. All this hatred the Al-Qaeda has for the USA is because you interfered. Your government saw a threat where there was none. Why do you think more and more people join the Al-Qaeda? It's because western countries invaded their lands. There is no need for soldiers fighting in afghanistan, they are just increasing the hatred towards western countries. This is another pointless war like vietnam, the Al-Qaeda is no threat to the USA. Don't come with 9/11. Yes it was horrible, but in afghanistan that much people die every month and that is because of the war. US military could protect the USA on their own ground too, you know. You don't always need to invade other countries. And I'll repeat myself, all I said now is just true for certain situations, and I'm sorry, but people like Chris kyle aren't necessary to protect your homeland. And before you ask, WW2 is another story, because Nazi germany was WAY more powerful than Al-Qaeda and north vietnam.
I'm willing to discuss this topic with you and no, I haven't been in a warzone, but you don't need to have combat expierience to know that this war is unnecessary.

These comments are ridiculous. The men and women of the armed forces didn't sign up to fight for oil. They signed up to serve the country and protect it from terrorism. If you think a war in iraq was bad, then that is a failure of politics and politicians, not the servicemen and women of our country.
Also, people who think oil somehow is only valuable to rich people are idiots. Oil is literally the lifeline of the global economy. Without an adequate supply of it, the world economy would literally grind to a hault. Oil is the heat in you house during the winter, the cold air in the house during the summer, the food on your table, your job, your everything. It is connected to everything we have and everything we do, and when you consider all the material resources nations have gone to war over in history, oil is probably the most significant resource to fight for. This is why we should become energy independent, and import the oil we have to from politically stable regions of the world. At the same time we should be working on alternative sources of energy in the long run in order to protect our planet.

The rustler of Ramadi understood it perfectly: "This is where I can unleash my psychopathic drive on humans, after having done it on birds, deer, etc."
May the cosmic justice be merciful to him.

I have another word TRAITOR and liar In his FICTIONAL account of a book, Chris Kyle says he punched out Jesse Ventura.....Why wasn't he arrested for attacking a fellow seal member in front of COPS? Why didn't Jesse Ventura mop the floor with him? Why did he loose a nearly 2 Million dollar judgement suite brought upon him by Jesse Ventura? BECAUSE IT NEVER HAPPENED! HE made it all up to sell books and him BOOK of fiction!

Rich Smith I just read the book. He didn’t punch Jessie Ventura. He insulted him though.
