I love that you can Rush always prided themselves with having the live music sound just like the studio version and I for one Love that. I've been to 8 Rush concerts mostly in the 1980's & 90's. I wish I was able to see them more. Stay Positive & God Bless 🙏

Every Rush fan, and I mean EVERY Rush fan will like this song - "Ghost of a Chance". It even received a couple weeks of airplay in the early 90's after its release. Look it up and be sure to watch the lyrics version because Neil's poetry is equal to his playing! It also has one of the most beautiful transitions I've ever heard in a song.

It's typical for someone nowadays, especially younger people to claim what they like mostly about this song is his voice when it's the worst part of the song because this song comes from the progressive rock instrumental era and the girl reacting was probably born during the dawning of the karaoke era and that was because know one knows how to play instruments (at least not that good anyways anymore) and can only sing acapella.🤪

The machines on stage are dryers. When Geddy began running his bass directly to the PA system, he didn't need a huge stack of amps on his side of the stage, leaving the stage with a very unbalanced look as Alex wanted to keep his amp cabinets. So, in typical Rush-humor style, Geddy decided to acquire some industrial machinery for his side of the stage and bought those dryers in a second-hand store. I think I remember reading they actually disabled the heating elements to eliminate the fire hazard and dramatically reduce the power draw. They used dryers instead of washers as with washers you'd have to have both a water hookup and a drain, and nobody wants water around electronic equipment.
As others have said the dryers would often contain custom concert T-shirts which were not available for sale but which they would toss out to the crowd during a break.

Okay, here's one of their shorter tunes "Marathon" where you will very possibly get everything you always hoped to hear from Rush, that's if you haven't already covered it.
Eddie: Geddy ((all over)) the bass.
Kayla: Geddy's voice reaching a high register.
Huh - what, who will get more excited Eddie or Kayla? Alex singing but very hard to make out his voice.
Jointly both of you digging a little deeper in the rabbit hole: Several layers of syncopated time changes and of course exceptionally tight playing. This tune has an amazing vibe to it while the lyrics really flow.

In regards to Kayla’s comment that this is her “favorite song so far” after saying the same about Working Man… let me just warn you Kayla, you still haven’t heard side two of Moving Pictures, which MANY musicians (mostly drummers, like me) will attest, are the songs that settled it for them, they wanted to learn to play. So influential, the musicianship is just crazy… I musta spent half my teens with the headphones on learning to play those songs.
Anything off side B of MovingPictures would be a great way to get to know RUSH. “Camera Eye” “Witch Hunt” or “Vital Signs” … anyone of those 3 songs … react to them. Trust me on this… you’ll be amazed

Rush is the bad that taught me *never* to ignore the last track on the album - as this example shows. The washing macines were to balance the stage because of all of Alex's amplifiers.

If you like this one the perfect follow up would be Jacobs Ladder from the same album similar but different. 😊

Doesn’t the roar of crowd define something here , I believe a testament, testimony of instrumentally climaxing to expectations of the fans the crowd in sync. Fan power .

The most influential band of my musical journey. Want to try something different but kick ass rock? Maybe try a Japanese band named Band Maid., An all female
    rock band from Japan
    Try Domination live

Someone can correct me but that's Alex on his signature guitar and amps. I'm just not sure when they were released.

the washing machines had a duel pur[pose. 1 they were geddys bass amps andv 2 a fan or stage hand would come on stage and toss vt shirts to the crowd saying "i got this shirt from dryer number 1 2 or 3.

No problem. I see people discovering rush for the first time and I tend to click. For me it like reliving the first time I discovered them when I was 13 in 1985. Bug money from power windows was the song that got me hooked. Keep on down the rabbit hole. And as far as having a favorite rush song the correct answer is yes.
