Listening to you guys virtually everyday since I was 9, I’ve built a strong connection with you guys and seeing you perform live here really changed my life. Dreaming about getting my very own gig and having a band; been doing couple of recording years ago, about 17yrs I think, and it stopped, coz of lack of support around, it did made mego left and right like I am not doing any progress of pursuing a drummer-in-a-band career -seriously, right now trying to pickUp where I left hoping things get better at the right time. Thanks for asking that question Gabe; know what, for me it's like hard sometimes to see drummers like you get straight to the point but you know and you'll feel (the ones who's watching) you're not being belittled but being encouraged to do more stuff we love on the kit, just like on the video you made "10 things .... creativity" something like that lol. Congratulations! Wow! I grew up in Colorado, saw a few (not many) concerts at Red Rocks, and it was always the PINNACLE of what I dreamed of for live performance. Bigger than MSG, bigger than anywhere. And my musical dreams took me away from Colorado and into a band where ultimately the main songwriter/singer/guitar guy told me after 18 months of 100% dedication to the band and it’s common goals, that “if you think you have what it takes to make it, you’re out of your mind”. And they kicked me out of the band. I found out later that they had a chance to get a “big name” drummer in the band and they thought he’d help them get to the next level (at the time, the goal was still mainly to get a record deal. This was a long time ago). But I believed those guys. And I gave up on myself and basically quit drumming. So I would tell every kid who wants to play, if you’re ever in a similar situation, don’t beat yourself up, beat THEM up. Literally. Just smash the shit out of those fuckers because they are trying to kill the most important part of you and deserve nothing but blood and fire. And never quit dreaming and drumming or you’ll be a geezer like me looking at all of your old friends Instagram pages and wishing it was YOU on those stages or in those studios or playing those drums. And there will always be something missing in your life.

@@roniszR yes clicktracks and also backingtracks who are mixed with clicktrack that are some music pieces you can't do live on everyshow, like a orchestra on that track. You can mix those on the ipad. Maybe even some triggers on drums but i'm not sure that would gabe know the best.

Great Video Gabe. I really feel ya on living the dream. Personally I've worked hard for years like you doing the clubs, talking whatever comes up and practising for 20+ years.. Finally getting my chance to push forward.. Touring a bit this summer with a fellow who does Festivals and big cooperate stuff.. One step closer to bigger things :)

Hi Gabe! Wow, excellent! Very excited for you to have reached this goal and dream!! Gorgeous venue! Now....forgive my ignorance.....this is not my genre of music and i am unfamiliar with the band, although i have heard you mention it on DBO (and yes, i am a member!) As I watched the video and heard you say “my band I Prevail”, i had a lightbulb moment, cuz just the other night, literally, my husband and I were talking and he said “google ‘I Prevail’, such and such song” (Sorry, i don’t remember what song it was 🤦🏻♀️)” I totally did not make the connection with that and with YOU until i watched your video here, lol. Gotta say, I am absolutelly in awe that you have the time to play with the band andd put together these videos and put together DBO and all while being a fabulous drummer! Can you bottle some of that energy (and talent!) for me and send it STAT to Richmond, VA!! Enjoyed the video - and enjoyed seeing your excitement and humility for this gig. Congrats again. Tari

Congratulations! Wow! I grew up in Colorado, saw a few (not many) concerts at Red Rocks, and it was always the PINNACLE of what I dreamed of for live performance. Bigger than MSG, bigger than anywhere. And my musical dreams took me away from Colorado and into a band where ultimately the main songwriter/singer/guitar guy told me after 18 months of 100% dedication to the band and it’s common goals, that “if you think you have what it takes to make it, you’re out of your mind”. And they kicked me out of the band. I found out later that they had a chance to get a “big name” drummer in the band and they thought he’d help them get to the next level (at the time, the goal was still mainly to get a record deal. This was a long time ago). But I believed those guys. And I gave up on myself and basically quit drumming. So I would tell every kid who wants to play, if you’re ever in a similar situation, don’t beat yourself up, beat THEM up. Literally. Just smash the shit out of those fuckers because they are trying to kill the most important part of you and deserve nothing but blood and fire. And never quit dreaming and drumming or you’ll be a geezer like me looking at all of your old friends Instagram pages and wishing it was YOU on those stages or in those studios or playing those drums. And there will always be something missing in your life.

Men, can you explain how you use the ipad to play live? what apps do you use?
I trigger the tracks for each song through the iPad. I use an app called Multi Track that connects to Ableton. Hope that helps!
Hi I’m a noob. When you say tracks do you mean click tracks? Have you ever fallen off the click? Haha and what happens if you do?
@@roniszR yes clicktracks and also backingtracks who are mixed with clicktrack that are some music pieces you can't do live on everyshow, like a orchestra on that track. You can mix those on the ipad. Maybe even some triggers on drums but i'm not sure that would gabe know the best.
