Programming closedown of RTÉ Radio 1 on 252kHz Long Wave. This took place at 0003 UTC+1 on 15/04/2023. Regular closedown and retune announcements were played out after 0003 (including the ‘O’Donnell Abú’ interval signal). This aircheck contains the last few minutes of programming on 252kHz, including the midnight news bulletin.
The station previously announced the cessation of programming would take place at 0900 UTC+1 on 14/04/2023, but continued. This may have been due to the ongoing RTÉ coverage of the US Presidental visit to Ireland.
