Sunshine Radio Shropshire, UK ‘AM Closedown’ - 19/01/2024

A recording of the last few minutes of Sunshine Radio (South Shropshire, North Herefordshire and North Worcestershire) broadcasting on 855kHz AM. This ‘Sunshine 855’ montage was played out, followed by Bruce Hornsby and The Range “The Way It is” (Sunshine 855’s launch track) with the AM transmitter switched off at 13:10 GMT.

The AM transmitter was located at Villa Farm in Greete (between Ludlow and Tenbury Wells), a site that was used for many years, including during Sunshine's Pirate Radio days of the 1980s. Sunshine Radio continues broadcasting on FM, and soon to be on Small Scale DAB in the area.
