IMO, this is the best lightbar design to date. Given halo, strobe or LED, it's the smartest bar. Don't understand why they aren't as popular anymore. Cost should have nothing to do with safety!
yeah im kindof hoping what that one company did for fedsig with the LED vector they could do with the aerodynic lights in the circuit boards with rotators spreading the light out from there with different colors selectable.
no, you can still get a new streethawk - it's the Vista rotator and strobe series that they discontinued in the US, but they still sell it in the European market.

With the new SLR the strobe and halogen lightbars are now and out dated, obsolete now with LED even brighter and uses are basically limitless the new vision SLR is the same great lightbar as the vector but just been given a upgrade form halogen to LED and now u can have up to 4 colors in one pod, not even the newsy lightbars led can compare to what Federal Signal had done truly amazing.
they may be outdated but they are still widely used, especially by volunteers like myself. i would love to have a SLR but they cost way too much for me to afford. right now i use a rotator bar along with 2 LED TIR4 heads on my license plate. just the bar alone gets me noticed enough to get me where i need to be. couple that with the LEDs and even people on the other side of the road move over.
oh yea. its been on the market for a while now. problem is they are wicked expensive. i think even for a mini you'd be paying close to $1k and it only has LED's to the front and sides. no rear warning unless you have it custom ordered with 360 LED's
yeah an aerodynic SLR on an ambulance with the different patterns and the ability from the microchip technologys SLR system that has the ability to direct lighting to the front or rear would be great. imagine an all white dome aero with LED's and rotators that can direct the light, change pattern and color and light up accident scenes.
They finally remade this bar! It has led's and it does the same things this one does but the lights in the pods can change color and they have more functions. check out Federal Signals website
@Ryan Wagner, we want to be seen, we want the most standing out pattern, the brighter kinda means the better. That’s why, and LEDS are much more modern, nicer, and easier.
i actually got an email back from the president of fed sig and he says they are going to use the SLR system in other bars they havent decided which ones yet though he says they will get back to me if they use it in the aerodynic.

i guess it goes to show when you have a product that works it makes good sense to make it work even better longer and brighter.

best lightbar out there... but it costs a fortune though, like 3 grand i think
i see what you are getting at here and thats a really good idea. that would be something i would submit to Fed Sig about that see what they think

they do sell LEDs - my city uses their Legend. (MUCH too bright! i like their older Vector better)

uh.. they did.. about 2 years ago. check out fedsig.com and you will see that they have updated it
