Wanted to comment on something. 8:01 could be a reference to Friend Inside Me, but could also be a reference to Undertale Yellow. Knowing Toby, it's probably the first option. Though I like to imagine it in some part due to the latter.

This sounds like a stretch and it probably is but hear out my thought process. Mike ->Mic -> Microphone -> (Radio) Tenna -> Antenna -> Old Box Tv -> (Video) And as sung by The Buggles, "Video Killed The Radio Star." It would explain why Spamton seems sad whenever he mentions Mike and also shows his disposition towards Tenna. And as seen by king and queen it is possible for darkners from other worlds to have some form of interaction. I might be crazy but dawg imagine.
I don't think by that logic Tenna would have killed Mike, radios also use antennas so does wifi modems so I feel like if they are really connected like that it would be more fitting for Tenna to be an agent or a talent hunter
@@Gabriel-lh7gy While this could be true, I am mainly Going Off of the Spamton Sweepstakes/Deltarune Website secret url d_a_m_n_y_o_u_t_e_n_n_a that has an Image of a TV with a red X on it and Spamton Rambling about how they will pay and how everything is their fault. And on top of that, In the Q&A someone asked about who mike was and in response Spamton asks if they are one of that [Cathode]'s Crew and refuses to give any information. And I believe by Cathode he is refering to CRT(Cathode-Ray-Tube) Displays that can be used on Tv's. Oh and my guess is that since Mike and Tenna are always being differentiated that Tenna Should be a TV given all of the previous Information. Sorry if this is all over the place lol.

Even though Susie’s waking up sprite fits so well in the Green Room, I think the dark world will start with the monster movie. It was a 12 hour marathon when Susie first turned on the TV, and that was the last channel on the TV before everyone went to sleep.
I have a theory for chapter 3 of Deltarune If toriel joins our party she might not want to listen to Kris as the leader unlike Susie and Noelle and she will instead take up the leader role and the game could give you the option to listen or not and the weird route in chapter 3 could be based on how often you listen to toriel
An NPC being the leader of the party is such an interesting idea. I'd honestly be surprised if Toby DIDN'T explore this idea because it plays into the themes of control and freedom in Deltarune perfectly.
The Shadow Guys are likely related to the mafia and jazz, while Elnina and Lanino's names are based on the La Nina and El Nino atmospheric oscillations. It's ironic because El Nino brings wetter weather conditions to the southern US, while La Nina brings warmer and drier conditions, contradictory to the "make it rain" statement. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a jazz cafe for the Shadow Guys. I have no idea why their socks are being knocked off but I'm sure it'll become clear later. ALSO, I think Napstablook is the more likely option because Toby seems to be focusing more on characters who haven't had a lot of screen time and development in Undertale, but who knows. I'd love more interactions with Undyne, however, her character was much more fun to me when she was a knight.
It's optimistic, but given Undertale came out Sept 15 2015, Deltarune Chapter 1 on Oct 31, 2018 and then Chapter 2 on Sept 17 2021, I think we could see a release around September 15th of this year
@@scarm_rune If I remember correctly, didn't Toby say he got his friends to playtest chpt. 3+4? Normally when he says that, it's a few months before the Chpt releases (ex. Chapter 2) so it's possible, but pretty unlikely imo.
Just something to say Lanino & Elnina Are actually spanish, "La" is a femal pronounce and "El" for males And nino (or niño) is boy, nina (niña) is girl I think its funny how he mixed them up

9:38 I think it makes sense with that argument that the character of "Tenna" would be the secret boss because no one uses Antenna for their tv anymore and also we know that the secret boss talks about the main villain of the next chapter (Jevil talks about the queen) and so Spamton talking about Mike means that mike is probably the main villain of chapter 3 and Tenna the secret boss
well of course, jevil alreayds et a precedent of the bonus bosses setting up foreshadowing for the chapter's big bad, the question is whether its Mike, who seems important to spamton and may or may not have betrayed him depending on theories, or Tenna, who spamton clearly hates and associates the most with TV (thus lending credence that they're the big bad of the chapter). Personally I feel given the tv association being stronger with Tenna via SPamton, Tenna will be the big bad and Mike will instead be the secret boss, mirroring his presumed friend Spamton.
2 things I wanna add to this... 1. Toby saying to please look at the cup... Why the connection to the church? It seems to be a close equivalent of the catholic church... They don't do cups... But fast food restaurants and Cafés do... I'd think that hintsbat Ice-E more than the church. 2. Many people wonder about the villain in chapter 3 not fitting the chess theme. From king to queen then rook and so on. In some countries like Germany, the rook is referred to as "Tower" perhaps like a broadcasting tower... With... Antennas?
From what I can tell from the "somethings:" - For the first somethings, there were originally going to be 4 but is now 3.5 - And for the other somethings, there were originally going to be 3/6 (connected in some way I can't really guess), but now the last one of the 3 has been reduced while still keeping the 6 (idk if that makes more sense)
Actually, I think the secret might be a (probably female) fish chef from some cancelled educational cartoon that Asriel and Kris used to watch as Kids, and I have a reason to believe that: in chapter 1, when you talk to Catti's dad a second time he says he hopes that Asriel will remember hometown after he becomes a "Big shot", and chapter 2' secret boss, Spamton, is heavily related to this expression to the point it's his theme's name; Then, when you do the same thing in chapter 2 he says one of his favorite meals is the fish with bones that seems from a cartoon which, given the TV theme of the next dark world, is very on the nose (plus Toriel loves cooking, so her trying to convince her kids to like it through a cartoon is possible). Not only that, but the bones could be a reference to the undead, which could be connected to Undyne the Undying or the Amalgamates (which would also confirm the theory that says that the secret bosses are connected to the Genocide/one-route exclusive bosses of Undertale, like Sans and MTT neo to Jevil and Spamton) and reference the idea of a "show's revival (that Is like being brought back to "Life")", which would the boss' main goal.

That being said, it's infinitly more likely that Asriel's game will end up being connected to the next secret boss, as it was forgotten and and abandoned, never being able to see the light of day. @@Bossfanboy First, i noticed that about catti's dad because someone mentioned that his chapter's 1 dialogue was a reference to Spamton and being curious about what he said about chapter 2 (and also because i thought that,since the main bosses are somewhat foreshadowed by the secret bosses, it was very likely that the secret bosses were also foreshadowed in some way, and the best way would've been in plain sight in a place no one would search for). As for the unfinished game being the secret boss, i highly doubt that as it's clearly a reference to Undertale and I imagine they would reserve a secret boss Asriel-expy for one of the last chapters (though it's still possible, no one knows how Toby thinks), while I said that Jevil and Sans are connected because thats how many people in the community thinks and they are both somewhat demonic figures (a skeleton and an imp/devil jester) that don't care about the world anymore and are fought before a king (but the whole "my world is a fantasy so i'll see it as my playground" gimmick makes way more sense for flowey), plus he's the first boss and Toby always wanted to make sure official sources didn't reference Sans' fight, so it would explain the weaker connection.

Still going with the idea of Mike TV (a character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and Anne Tenna, who will be related to him. Possible a mother or daughter. Also since few of the new chars seem to defy classic gender def I don't think we can guess the gender of any char. The weather people could both be female.
You have a point! They're obviously plays on the weather phenomenons of La Niña and El Niño, which are Spanish for girl and boy respectively. HOWEVER, Toby swapped the definite articles, using the male article for Niña (a feminine word) and the female article for Niño (masculine). So I think you're onto something with their genders being hard to guess!
I started considering this world where Mike is actually the cancelled Cowboy show character. Would make sense, considering some Spamton quotes from the sweepstakes seem to imply that Tenna did something to wrong him. I would think cancelling his show would be a reason Tenna would wrong Mike right?
@@nickfarace9339 To me, it wouldn't make sense for a cowboy to be the next secret boss, as it would only make sense that it would use the justice soul, not chapter 2. But what do I know, anyway.
A few predictions I have based on these: 1. I think the shadow guys's socks being removed is a reference to the phrase "Knock your socks off" Maybe at one point, a character is going to say something like "This performance will knock your socks off!" 2. This is a little more out there, but based on what we have, I think chapter 4 will have the Knight create a dark world in the church. There's what looks like the fruit juice cup as a darker, and the fact that chapter 4 will be "more standard" than chapter 3. The uniqueness of chapter 3 will likely be due to the fact that a new person is creating the dark fountain (Assuming Kris isn't the knight) Which would imply that a dark world more similar to chapter 1 and 2 would also have the same creator.
Oh dude. If all the secret bosses of the last chapters have been things that have been discarded, then what about the flowers that Asgore gives Toriel??? Some of the sevret bosses have had links to undertale characters in terms of their themes and leitmotifs, so are we about to see a flower superboss with Flowey/Asriel/Asgore motifs??????
Viva Veritas actually made an interesting video of trying to find what discarded item could be the secret boss with the flowers from Asgore being a candidate
Something I didnt really see people talk about is, well the secret boss from chapter 1 (Jevil) told us and therefore predicted the main villain of the next chapter (chapter 2), that of course being Queen. Now, why wouldn't chapter 2 follow the same logic? If it is following the same logic, the secret boss of chapter 2, spamton predicts Mike to be the main villain in chapter 3! As of Tenna, I think it's not that likely that she will be in a team with Mike. Maybe Tenna will be a former allay of Mike, and be a secret boss like Jevil and Spamton? Who knows.
I HIGHLY doubt tenna is a secret boss, it makes no sense for toby to reveal the name of the secret boss before the next chapters release,also while spamton did mention mike first he also mentioned tenna in the spamton sweepstakes so the villain of chapter 3 really could be either one of them.

But also putting it is a main villan would also go out the window because I really think Mike is the main villain (probably the only one), but I can't see Tenna being anything in-between. Maybe chapter 4 main villain? Also probably no, but hey, we're probably overthinking the whole thing anyway hahahaha.
I think it's more likely that both Mike and Tenna would be the main bosses of the chapter (maybe as brothers who have the surname "rook", as a reference to chess theory and the fact there are 2 rooks), with Mike as the more redemable one due to the fact Spamton references both of them but hates Tenna and cares about Mike.
3:59 issue, both names are both masculine and feminine in spanish. La is feminine abd supposed to go with the feminine niña, but the name is instead Lanino, and vice versa for elniña. So given the names have both masculine and feminine parts why do you think laniño is the male presenting character and elniña the female presenting character? Personally i thought the opposite lol
In my opinion I think the theme of the 3rd chapter will be of twos. Think about it, kris and susie, 2 kids, toriel and undyne, 2 adults, Mike and Tenna, 2 bosses, lanino and elnina, 2, the green room couch we saw was split into 2 colors on the left and right.
That also makes sense with the something comment. When Toby says "3(6?)" it makes me think that there's three pairs of somethings, which is six total somethings.
My theory on the cowboy show is simply just that it's the penultimate area of chapter 3, and it being canceled is something that will happen WHILE we are in it, causing us to enter a sort of backstage that we couldn't get to because of Mike, but now that the show he put us in was canceled, most likely not of his own volition, he has essentially lost sight of us as we fall into the backstage and can finally finish this
ok i have a “theory” or speculation i just wanna put out there. in chapter 2, near the end of the game the moon was shaped like a baseball, which a lot of people picked up on and are wondering about. this scene has a lot to do with noelle, which could be a reference to dess’s sports interest, as in her plastic bat. now away from all that, regarding chess theory- i think that the main antagonist in chapter 3 will NOT be called the rook, but instead called the rookie, having been just created by Kris in the dark fountain.

I dont think undyne or nap will end up in the dark world. Im more seeing that it will be revealed Asgore got his job back as a police offier and he's the one answering the call. Because, chap 4 seems to take place the next day and susie calls kris's family weird. Plus personally i feel kris is attempting to mend the relationship between toriel and asgore with this dark world.
this is grasping at straws for sure but what if the next chapters secret bosses are all something to do with smiling ? hear me out. jevils a smiling jester and spamton is a grinning businessman. the basement face is a big grin as well. gaster also has a theme of being connected to smiling, and its almost implied that gaster is partially responsible for the way that the secret bosses act.

Also, cards on the table (intentional pun), we've seen the King card, the Queen, Jevil is the Joker card, we've seen hearts (Kris), spades (Lancer), clubs, and diamonds (Spartan). Perhaps we will see a secret villain based on the club?

There's an idea with the ch3 secret boss that was always really cool! And it could work lore-wise too! Remember how Toriel always "discards" Asgore's flowers? And she puts them in the trash can, emitting "a strange floral scent" I feel like the secret boss would be something like Flowey, for first of all, a reference to Undertale, but also maybe the secret boss could have a personality similar to Asriel that would I dunno have Toriel undergo character development It seems like an interesting concept and I wonder what they would do with the trash can even if they didn't do it
I also thought the sticks the weather duo uses are thoes school pointer sticks you buy from the school store or a teacher uses it. But yeah it can also be referenced as a weather person pointing at the board
My dumbass theory is that since Asgore is a "retired police chief" maybe he gets called in or hears the house being attacked and then it's him in the dark world so we get a chapter of annoying relationship drama which leads to asgore being an opposition (like Berdly in Ch2) until they make up at the end

That's exactly what I was thinking too. Think about it, why make an entire chapter about the Dreemur house if there is going to be nothing about Asgore and Toriel's relationship? Also, if my theory is correct, the Pacific route will end with Asgore and Toriel making peace and starting their relationship again while the "weird route" will end with Asgore being arrested or something like that.
@@KorrupKopia Oh yeah and another piece of evidence Assuming Toriel gets the Noelle treatment in Ch3 and torches a bunch of enemies in the weird route, in a similar vein of Noelle killing Berdley. someone she actually knew and was friends with, wouldn't it be a better climax for Toriel to kill Asgore rather than some random police officer? Now I'm not actually sure if every genocide route will follow the same formula but if it does I think it makes more sense for Asgore to be involved over Undyne. Also "Pacific Route" lmao

While I doubt Chapter 3 is just 2 sections total, I can't help but feel like the doors in the Green Room lead to two separate channels basically. Like being the confirmed Weather and mostly confirmed Cooking sections. If the TV channels really do represent chapter sections, those two would match up with two doors. I could even see it being like, you chose which way to go and there is no set requirement on the order (making Chapter 3 very much not a standard chapter btw). But the whole somethings thing, I could also see the 0.5 being whatever section was supposed to have the sneaking part, being cut to half because the sneaking was removed. If that was the case, then there would be four sections and that section was just shorter. Of which I would think it would still be weather, cooking, whatever shadowguys and sneaking was, and then whatever the "final" place is. I can't decide if the Rouxls and Lancer text is part of the cooking channel, or them in the green room. There is both a vending machine and the serving plate between the TVs that could be referenced by them there. Since they are in Kris' pocket still, this likely would be where they went if the Green Room is where we start (which it makes a lot of sense to start there, since they are asleep on the couch and thus, wake up on the couches.) As for Chapter 4, I am on team Church. Too many hints toward it, and it just makes sense. But man, if Rudy DOES go and ends up being a dark world character in that chapter, I worry for him. Imagine a world where the "rudy dies" prediction comes true, and its a key point of the ending of Chapter 4. That could be our potential cliffhanger once they get released and we are waiting for Chapter 5. Let THAT sink in :(
The thing that surprised me the most was that he did not address the Spanish pun with Elnina and Lanino and managed to confuse "bambino" and "bimbo" as Spanish despite the fact that the words for "child" in that language were right there staring at him the whole time lmao
I’m really excited to see how Toriel contributes in chapter three, because we might get more information about Asriel and Asgore. It would be interesting to see how her dark world self compares to her Undertale self as well. I also wonder if there will be any Mettaton references in chapter 3 because of the tv theme.
The one thing that intruigues me about the recent Chapters are the secret bosses, we always ponder who could be next to appear. Some of them have a form of connection in a way, which is probably in a sort of abandonement, rejection, or perhaps a certain tragedy. Jevil has been locked away due to his sudden breakdown of his own reality being nothing but a plaything, meanwhile Spamton had relied on the phone calls he's been receiving by an unknown individual who first led him to success, but once those calls had stopped his fame had plummeted and left him alone. These Darkners reflect to their real life non-living counterparts in some form. Since the next Chapter will center around TV Media, alongside small additions in the Dreemur Household, what if the next boss will be connected to the various flowers Toriel throws away in the trash? She always objected Asgore's attempts at reconciliation as he sends her flowers and doesn't hesitate to throw them away. It is a form of rejection which is a type of tragedy, which is something the most recent bosses we've seen had dealt with. Though- I may be overthinking this.
we have a chance of this meme being referenced in ch3 or another chapter since Toby has already referenced the meme about ralsei and guns in ch2 (the dialogue in Pop-up fight)

The Cowboy part, it's a Undertale Yellow reference, Clover will appear whit North Star, Ceroba, Marloth and Dalv and make the best preaquels crossover of all time
if its one of the town's police who get involved in some way in the plot i doubt it'd be napstablook. sure subverting expectations and all, but 1) nap is TOO socially anxious to even leave the police office when someone knocks on the door, let alone answer a call for help frokm toriel and 2) you think Undyne WOULDN'T just rush over to fight a criminal, AFTER already espousing how bored she is without any real crimes to solve AND the fact she''s been eager to rush into EVERYTHING in the town so far?
I would also like to remind you that toby doesn't subvert using bait and switch unless it makes sense, flowey's personality is a subversion because of his role in the story, and even then it's not a huge one. Undertale itself isn't actually that subversive, rather the concept of gameplay is diagetic and shenanigans ensue, if the game reacts to your choices like that it's not subversive but rather it's simply reacting to your choices. Toby does not subvert for the sake of subversion, so he definitely wouldn't go and use napstablook for chapter 3
I convinced myself that the Shadowguys themselves are the human shaped cookie cutters that are referenced in the house, or were at least cut out by them. Since this is a Dark World and all, the empty space within the cutter would be filled with darkness instead, and maybe that's why they have a white outline, since most cookie cutters are depicted as silver? I already thought this before the recent newsletter, but seeing the equipment info about the GingerGuard directly after the Shadowguy info made me raise an eye. Anyways, great video! I've been loving watching these while I sit in anticipation and go insane from theory crafting!
i've always had the theory that we (the soul) are controlling Kris, and preventing him from doing what he's trying to do, and when our soul shatters, he has control, meaning he's trying to give us a harder challenge. proof/evidence? not much, just that Kris can rip his soul out and move freely, and when he puts it back, we have control, and on the first ending, we could still control him (my thought is that our soul wasn't shattered, other evidence is that there is a somewhat red stain near the bird cage.) another thing is that we can't see what happens after the soul shatters, and we only have the options to continue, or give up. another theory is that they are actually just playing in the closet, and stuff, considering that there is an abundance of stuff in the one room, and a bunch of stuff on the computers, meaning they could have just went in the room, notice all of the board games and stuff, played there all day, and "pretend" they didn't know what was happening, as for jevil, he was discarded, but maybe used as an extra card for a missing piece. and for the computer room, they were using the computers, as for [[HYPERLINK BLOCKED]], and the snowgrave route??? no evidence, except kris was telling Noelle what to do, but no evidence as for how Nerdley dies. and for this video, i feel like toriel will be a character that can join us, but will likely be a pacifist, and maybe undyne will be able to join, considering napstablook is a ghost. (you get the idea) and also maybe asgore? (he's trying to get back with toriel, tright? so maybe he notices something at the house, and would want to save them, trying to look cool and get toriel back.) also another theory for the new dark world, is it won't have anyone from chapter one, (except ralsei ofc, considering she came from nowhere in chapter two, when there was no evidence of him being able to enter, which adds onto my second theory...) and remember about how susie mentions other things? (but doesn't switch the channel to it) you get the idea. [THESE ARE ALL THEORIES]
I think its going to be undyne who arrives at the house due to the tires being slashed since firstly its just in character and secondly kris has been trying to tell undyne about the dark world
It's possible for this year or the first couple months of next year. Chapter 4 was basically done content wise, it just needs localized and bug tested, which is much quicker to do than everything else. The largest lag introduced is the fact that it's a paid release and that console is being released at the same time as PC. Which does impact the amount of time it will take, however.. I don't know by how much. Many of the things that need to be done in relation to those two new points of lag can be done at the same time as everything else. Getting the game rated isn’t much of something that Toby has to do, localizing is an entire different company, bug fixing is definitely the most notable but still not horrible, trailer can be made at pretty much any time at this point, etc etc. So there is a lot to do, but much of it is done by others and the things dome by Toby and his team aren't that bad. Console porting and bug fixing seem like the biggest hurtle. So like. When it releases will be not that long from now. Whether or not it would be this year is hard to say. I'm personally a proponent of the first couple months of next year, but it definitely isn’t impossible for it to be this year. It just depends
@@CuantumQ console porting isn't difficult since gamemaker has the tools for it + they did it multiple times. the biggest time eater right now is localization more than anything so i doubt we'll see it this year. maybe mid-february or early march?
My observations are that the smile on the TV looks like the sprite that appears temporarily in the basement... and also Jevil and Spamton are both smiling. The sea-side scene of Susie and Kris is quite telling... it looks like onion-san is emerging from the water but Susie either threw or is about to throw something in the ocean. That fits with the general trend of Susie being less and less under the control of the player. It's almost as if all those hometown characters want to join some kind of revolution against the player. But do so without just reproducing cut-scenes. In a way to be free from the author and the player, or free from the author and the audience.
as much as i love seeing little snippets of the future chapters. i’d like for people to stop snooping and to just let Toby and his team cook the upcoming chapters because i assume he’d want the fans to be surprised with everything. if we dig too far , i’m afraid that Toby will not want to put out any further chapters.
23:43 I hate the combination of the facts that there's no school the day after chapter 2 AND there's church the day after chapter 2 because that implies chap 2 was a friday but church is being held on saturday for some reason i think it's probably more likely that ch1 was a monday, ch2 was a tuesday, ch3 takes place as tuesday turns to wednesday, ch4 is on wednesday and there's just some random reason there's no school that day, like a holiday or something. this lines up better imo bc a lot of churches do wednesday service, then ch7 would be saturday. idk if we have any info about how far away the festival is but if it's on a saturday then maybe the roaring occurs during the festival?
Some religions have Saturday as the holy day of rest, such as Judaism. And in Spanish, Saturday is called "el Sábado", or The Sabbath. God supposedly rested on the 7th day after creation. There's other examples out there too. Even though the Angel worship has parallels with Christianity, it's not a complete analog, due to Alvin noting that they don't believe in sin, so their Holy Communion (sick fruit juice LOL) is done for a different reason that has yet to be explained. So to many in the world, Saturday being the church day makes more logical sense.
But that said, you still make good points, plus Deltarune seems to be mostly American- & Christian-based since that's what Toby's familiar with. Though this IS unusual, you're right that those are possible explanations for this unusual event sequence too.
@@ZaCloud-Animations___she-her Saturday services are also in some christian church services in the US as well, normally Saturday night services, I just think it makes less sense for Rudy to say he might be able to go to church "tomorrow" if the chapter after would work just as well as the church while also presumably being a sunday. not to mention if Alvin is the knight like a lot of people think then it would make sense for that to be revealed in a church dark world and that being revealed in chapter 5 would make sense as a cliff hanger with Toby's original plan of releasing 3 4 and 5 together
I also think that ralsei wont be in chapter 3 even though he could somehow travel into cybers world i dont think that he will be able to travel into this dark world

It would explain why Spamton seems sad whenever he mentions Mike and also shows his disposition towards Tenna. And as seen by king and queen it is possible for darkners from other worlds to have some form of interaction. I might be crazy but dawg imagine.

And on top of that, In the Q&A someone asked about who mike was and in response Spamton asks if they are one of that [Cathode]'s Crew and refuses to give any information. And I believe by Cathode he is refering to CRT(Cathode-Ray-Tube) Displays that can be used on Tv's. Oh and my guess is that since Mike and Tenna are always being differentiated that Tenna Should be a TV given all of the previous Information. Sorry if this is all over the place lol.

I have a theory for chapter 3 of Deltarune
If toriel joins our party she might not want to listen to Kris as the leader unlike Susie and Noelle and she will instead take up the leader role and the game could give you the option to listen or not and the weird route in chapter 3 could be based on how often you listen to toriel
An NPC being the leader of the party is such an interesting idea. I'd honestly be surprised if Toby DIDN'T explore this idea because it plays into the themes of control and freedom in Deltarune perfectly.

The Shadow Guys are likely related to the mafia and jazz, while Elnina and Lanino's names are based on the La Nina and El Nino atmospheric oscillations. It's ironic because El Nino brings wetter weather conditions to the southern US, while La Nina brings warmer and drier conditions, contradictory to the "make it rain" statement. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a jazz cafe for the Shadow Guys. I have no idea why their socks are being knocked off but I'm sure it'll become clear later. ALSO, I think Napstablook is the more likely option because Toby seems to be focusing more on characters who haven't had a lot of screen time and development in Undertale, but who knows. I'd love more interactions with Undyne, however, her character was much more fun to me when she was a knight.

It's optimistic, but given Undertale came out Sept 15 2015, Deltarune Chapter 1 on Oct 31, 2018 and then Chapter 2 on Sept 17 2021, I think we could see a release around September 15th of this year

@@scarm_rune If I remember correctly, didn't Toby say he got his friends to playtest chpt. 3+4? Normally when he says that, it's a few months before the Chpt releases (ex. Chapter 2) so it's possible, but pretty unlikely imo.

well of course, jevil alreayds et a precedent of the bonus bosses setting up foreshadowing for the chapter's big bad, the question is whether its Mike, who seems important to spamton and may or may not have betrayed him depending on theories, or Tenna, who spamton clearly hates and associates the most with TV (thus lending credence that they're the big bad of the chapter).
Personally I feel given the tv association being stronger with Tenna via SPamton, Tenna will be the big bad and Mike will instead be the secret boss, mirroring his presumed friend Spamton.
2 things I wanna add to this...
1. Toby saying to please look at the cup... Why the connection to the church? It seems to be a close equivalent of the catholic church... They don't do cups...
But fast food restaurants and Cafés do... I'd think that hintsbat Ice-E more than the church.
2. Many people wonder about the villain in chapter 3 not fitting the chess theme. From king to queen then rook and so on.

Actually, I think the secret might be a (probably female) fish chef from some cancelled educational cartoon that Asriel and Kris used to watch as Kids, and I have a reason to believe that: in chapter 1, when you talk to Catti's dad a second time he says he hopes that Asriel will remember hometown after he becomes a "Big shot", and chapter 2' secret boss, Spamton, is heavily related to this expression to the point it's his theme's name; Then, when you do the same thing in chapter 2 he says one of his favorite meals is the fish with bones that seems from a cartoon which, given the TV theme of the next dark world, is very on the nose (plus Toriel loves cooking, so her trying to convince her kids to like it through a cartoon is possible).
Not only that, but the bones could be a reference to the undead, which could be connected to Undyne the Undying or the Amalgamates (which would also confirm the theory that says that the secret bosses are connected to the Genocide/one-route exclusive bosses of Undertale, like Sans and MTT neo to Jevil and Spamton) and reference the idea of a "show's revival (that Is like being brought back to "Life")", which would the boss' main goal.

@@Bossfanboy First, i noticed that about catti's dad because someone mentioned that his chapter's 1 dialogue was a reference to Spamton and being curious about what he said about chapter 2 (and also because i thought that,since the main bosses are somewhat foreshadowed by the secret bosses, it was very likely that the secret bosses were also foreshadowed in some way, and the best way would've been in plain sight in a place no one would search for).
As for the unfinished game being the secret boss, i highly doubt that as it's clearly a reference to Undertale and I imagine they would reserve a secret boss Asriel-expy for one of the last chapters (though it's still possible, no one knows how Toby thinks), while I said that Jevil and Sans are connected because thats how many people in the community thinks and they are both somewhat demonic figures (a skeleton and an imp/devil jester) that don't care about the world anymore and are fought before a king (but the whole "my world is a fantasy so i'll see it as my playground" gimmick makes way more sense for flowey), plus he's the first boss and Toby always wanted to make sure official sources didn't reference Sans' fight, so it would explain the weaker connection.

Also since few of the new chars seem to defy classic gender def I don't think we can guess the gender of any char. The weather people could both be female.
You have a point! They're obviously plays on the weather phenomenons of La Niña and El Niño, which are Spanish for girl and boy respectively.
HOWEVER, Toby swapped the definite articles, using the male article for Niña (a feminine word) and the female article for Niño (masculine). So I think you're onto something with their genders being hard to guess!
Spamton calls Tenna a "he", so I doubt he's called Anne. Even though it's a very cool theory.

Would make sense, considering some Spamton quotes from the sweepstakes seem to imply that Tenna did something to wrong him. I would think cancelling his show would be a reason Tenna would wrong Mike right?

A few predictions I have based on these:
1. I think the shadow guys's socks being removed is a reference to the phrase "Knock your socks off"
Maybe at one point, a character is going to say something like "This performance will knock your socks off!"
2. This is a little more out there, but based on what we have, I think chapter 4 will have the Knight create a dark world in the church.
There's what looks like the fruit juice cup as a darker, and the fact that chapter 4 will be "more standard" than chapter 3. The uniqueness of chapter 3 will likely be due to the fact that a new person is creating the dark fountain (Assuming Kris isn't the knight) Which would imply that a dark world more similar to chapter 1 and 2 would also have the same creator.

Something I didnt really see people talk about is, well the secret boss from chapter 1 (Jevil) told us and therefore predicted the main villain of the next chapter (chapter 2), that of course being Queen.
Now, why wouldn't chapter 2 follow the same logic? If it is following the same logic, the secret boss of chapter 2, spamton predicts Mike to be the main villain in chapter 3!
As of Tenna, I think it's not that likely that she will be in a team with Mike. Maybe Tenna will be a former allay of Mike, and be a secret boss like Jevil and Spamton? Who knows.
I HIGHLY doubt tenna is a secret boss, it makes no sense for toby to reveal the name of the secret boss before the next chapters release,also while spamton did mention mike first he also mentioned tenna in the spamton sweepstakes so the villain of chapter 3 really could be either one of them.

I think it's more likely that both Mike and Tenna would be the main bosses of the chapter (maybe as brothers who have the surname "rook", as a reference to chess theory and the fact there are 2 rooks), with Mike as the more redemable one due to the fact Spamton references both of them but hates Tenna and cares about Mike.

In my opinion I think the theme of the 3rd chapter will be of twos. Think about it, kris and susie, 2 kids, toriel and undyne, 2 adults, Mike and Tenna, 2 bosses, lanino and elnina, 2, the green room couch we saw was split into 2 colors on the left and right.
That would match the theme of the chess pieces
I mean, at least that explains the part of the "somethings" being 3(6?). If all bosses were in pairs lol.
That also makes sense with the something comment. When Toby says "3(6?)" it makes me think that there's three pairs of somethings, which is six total somethings.

My theory on the cowboy show is simply just that it's the penultimate area of chapter 3, and it being canceled is something that will happen WHILE we are in it, causing us to enter a sort of backstage that we couldn't get to because of Mike, but now that the show he put us in was canceled, most likely not of his own volition, he has essentially lost sight of us as we fall into the backstage and can finally finish this
ok i have a “theory” or speculation i just wanna put out there. in chapter 2, near the end of the game the moon was shaped like a baseball, which a lot of people picked up on and are wondering about. this scene has a lot to do with noelle, which could be a reference to dess’s sports interest, as in her plastic bat. now away from all that, regarding chess theory- i think that the main antagonist in chapter 3 will NOT be called the rook, but instead called the rookie, having been just created by Kris in the dark fountain.
Real question is will this include more moss?

I dont think undyne or nap will end up in the dark world. Im more seeing that it will be revealed Asgore got his job back as a police offier and he's the one answering the call. Because, chap 4 seems to take place the next day and susie calls kris's family weird. Plus personally i feel kris is attempting to mend the relationship between toriel and asgore with this dark world.

gaster also has a theme of being connected to smiling, and its almost implied that gaster is partially responsible for the way that the secret bosses act.

My dumbass theory is that since Asgore is a "retired police chief" maybe he gets called in or hears the house being attacked and then it's him in the dark world so we get a chapter of annoying relationship drama which leads to asgore being an opposition (like Berdly in Ch2) until they make up at the end

That's exactly what I was thinking too. Think about it, why make an entire chapter about the Dreemur house if there is going to be nothing about Asgore and Toriel's relationship?
Also, if my theory is correct, the Pacific route will end with Asgore and Toriel making peace and starting their relationship again while the "weird route" will end with Asgore being arrested or something like that.

Assuming Toriel gets the Noelle treatment in Ch3 and torches a bunch of enemies in the weird route, in a similar vein of Noelle killing Berdley. someone she actually knew and was friends with, wouldn't it be a better climax for Toriel to kill Asgore rather than some random police officer? Now I'm not actually sure if every genocide route will follow the same formula but if it does I think it makes more sense for Asgore to be involved over Undyne.

It's quite possible that we meet toriel in the cooking section, Because you use fire to cook. And guess what? Toriel's power is fire.
While I doubt Chapter 3 is just 2 sections total, I can't help but feel like the doors in the Green Room lead to two separate channels basically. Like being the confirmed Weather and mostly confirmed Cooking sections. If the TV channels really do represent chapter sections, those two would match up with two doors. I could even see it being like, you chose which way to go and there is no set requirement on the order (making Chapter 3 very much not a standard chapter btw).
But the whole somethings thing, I could also see the 0.5 being whatever section was supposed to have the sneaking part, being cut to half because the sneaking was removed. If that was the case, then there would be four sections and that section was just shorter. Of which I would think it would still be weather, cooking, whatever shadowguys and sneaking was, and then whatever the "final" place is.
I can't decide if the Rouxls and Lancer text is part of the cooking channel, or them in the green room. There is both a vending machine and the serving plate between the TVs that could be referenced by them there. Since they are in Kris' pocket still, this likely would be where they went if the Green Room is where we start (which it makes a lot of sense to start there, since they are asleep on the couch and thus, wake up on the couches.)
As for Chapter 4, I am on team Church. Too many hints toward it, and it just makes sense. But man, if Rudy DOES go and ends up being a dark world character in that chapter, I worry for him. Imagine a world where the "rudy dies" prediction comes true, and its a key point of the ending of Chapter 4. That could be our potential cliffhanger once they get released and we are waiting for Chapter 5. Let THAT sink in :(

It would be interesting to see how her dark world self compares to her Undertale self as well. I also wonder if there will be any Mettaton references in chapter 3 because of the tv theme.

I took a long break from Deltarune and now I almost forgot everything. I have to play Deltarune for my 4th time with a fresh memory 😭
The one thing that intruigues me about the recent Chapters are the secret bosses, we always ponder who could be next to appear. Some of them have a form of connection in a way, which is probably in a sort of abandonement, rejection, or perhaps a certain tragedy. Jevil has been locked away due to his sudden breakdown of his own reality being nothing but a plaything, meanwhile Spamton had relied on the phone calls he's been receiving by an unknown individual who first led him to success, but once those calls had stopped his fame had plummeted and left him alone. These Darkners reflect to their real life non-living counterparts in some form. Since the next Chapter will center around TV Media, alongside small additions in the Dreemur Household, what if the next boss will be connected to the various flowers Toriel throws away in the trash? She always objected Asgore's attempts at reconciliation as he sends her flowers and doesn't hesitate to throw them away. It is a form of rejection which is a type of tragedy, which is something the most recent bosses we've seen had dealt with. Though- I may be overthinking this.

if its one of the town's police who get involved in some way in the plot i doubt it'd be napstablook. sure subverting expectations and all, but 1) nap is TOO socially anxious to even leave the police office when someone knocks on the door, let alone answer a call for help frokm toriel and 2) you think Undyne WOULDN'T just rush over to fight a criminal, AFTER already espousing how bored she is without any real crimes to solve AND the fact she''s been eager to rush into EVERYTHING in the town so far?

I would also like to remind you that toby doesn't subvert using bait and switch unless it makes sense, flowey's personality is a subversion because of his role in the story, and even then it's not a huge one. Undertale itself isn't actually that subversive, rather the concept of gameplay is diagetic and shenanigans ensue, if the game reacts to your choices like that it's not subversive but rather it's simply reacting to your choices.
Toby does not subvert for the sake of subversion, so he definitely wouldn't go and use napstablook for chapter 3

I convinced myself that the Shadowguys themselves are the human shaped cookie cutters that are referenced in the house, or were at least cut out by them. Since this is a Dark World and all, the empty space within the cutter would be filled with darkness instead, and maybe that's why they have a white outline, since most cookie cutters are depicted as silver? I already thought this before the recent newsletter, but seeing the equipment info about the GingerGuard directly after the Shadowguy info made me raise an eye.
Anyways, great video! I've been loving watching these while I sit in anticipation and go insane from theory crafting!

i've always had the theory that we (the soul) are controlling Kris, and preventing him from doing what he's trying to do, and when our soul shatters, he has control, meaning he's trying to give us a harder challenge.
proof/evidence?
not much, just that Kris can rip his soul out and move freely, and when he puts it back, we have control, and on the first ending, we could still control him (my thought is that our soul wasn't shattered, other evidence is that there is a somewhat red stain near the bird cage.)
another thing is that we can't see what happens after the soul shatters, and we only have the options to continue, or give up.
another theory is that they are actually just playing in the closet, and stuff, considering that there is an abundance of stuff in the one room, and a bunch of stuff on the computers, meaning they could have just went in the room, notice all of the board games and stuff, played there all day, and "pretend" they didn't know what was happening, as for jevil, he was discarded, but maybe used as an extra card for a missing piece. and for the computer room, they were using the computers, as for [[HYPERLINK BLOCKED]], and the snowgrave route??? no evidence, except kris was telling Noelle what to do, but no evidence as for how Nerdley dies.
and for this video, i feel like toriel will be a character that can join us, but will likely be a pacifist, and maybe undyne will be able to join, considering napstablook is a ghost. (you get the idea) and also maybe asgore? (he's trying to get back with toriel, tright? so maybe he notices something at the house, and would want to save them, trying to look cool and get toriel back.)

It's possible for this year or the first couple months of next year. Chapter 4 was basically done content wise, it just needs localized and bug tested, which is much quicker to do than everything else. The largest lag introduced is the fact that it's a paid release and that console is being released at the same time as PC. Which does impact the amount of time it will take, however.. I don't know by how much. Many of the things that need to be done in relation to those two new points of lag can be done at the same time as everything else. Getting the game rated isn’t much of something that Toby has to do, localizing is an entire different company, bug fixing is definitely the most notable but still not horrible, trailer can be made at pretty much any time at this point, etc etc. So there is a lot to do, but much of it is done by others and the things dome by Toby and his team aren't that bad. Console porting and bug fixing seem like the biggest hurtle. So like. When it releases will be not that long from now. Whether or not it would be this year is hard to say. I'm personally a proponent of the first couple months of next year, but it definitely isn’t impossible for it to be this year. It just depends

the biggest time eater right now is localization more than anything so i doubt we'll see it this year. maybe mid-february or early march?
My observations are that the smile on the TV looks like the sprite that appears temporarily in the basement... and also Jevil and Spamton are both smiling.
The sea-side scene of Susie and Kris is quite telling... it looks like onion-san is emerging from the water but Susie either threw or is about to throw something in the ocean. That fits with the general trend of Susie being less and less under the control of the player. It's almost as if all those hometown characters want to join some kind of revolution against the player. But do so without just reproducing cut-scenes. In a way to be free from the author and the player, or free from the author and the audience.
Thay would be very great if toriel and undyne looked the same in undertale as the dark world

as much as i love seeing little snippets of the future chapters. i’d like for people to stop snooping and to just let Toby and his team cook the upcoming chapters because i assume he’d want the fans to be surprised with everything.

23:43 I hate the combination of the facts that there's no school the day after chapter 2 AND there's church the day after chapter 2 because that implies chap 2 was a friday but church is being held on saturday for some reason
i think it's probably more likely that ch1 was a monday, ch2 was a tuesday, ch3 takes place as tuesday turns to wednesday, ch4 is on wednesday and there's just some random reason there's no school that day, like a holiday or something. this lines up better imo bc a lot of churches do wednesday service, then ch7 would be saturday. idk if we have any info about how far away the festival is but if it's on a saturday then maybe the roaring occurs during the festival?
Some religions have Saturday as the holy day of rest, such as Judaism. And in Spanish, Saturday is called "el Sábado", or The Sabbath. God supposedly rested on the 7th day after creation. There's other examples out there too. Even though the Angel worship has parallels with Christianity, it's not a complete analog, due to Alvin noting that they don't believe in sin, so their Holy Communion (sick fruit juice LOL) is done for a different reason that has yet to be explained.
So to many in the world, Saturday being the church day makes more logical sense.
But that said, you still make good points, plus Deltarune seems to be mostly American- & Christian-based since that's what Toby's familiar with. Though this IS unusual, you're right that those are possible explanations for this unusual event sequence too.
@@ZaCloud-Animations___she-her Saturday services are also in some christian church services in the US as well, normally Saturday night services, I just think it makes less sense for Rudy to say he might be able to go to church "tomorrow" if the chapter after would work just as well as the church while also presumably being a sunday. not to mention if Alvin is the knight like a lot of people think then it would make sense for that to be revealed in a church dark world and that being revealed in chapter 5 would make sense as a cliff hanger with Toby's original plan of releasing 3 4 and 5 together
