So true regarding just a downpipe for the MK7 GTI. As a 3 year owner of my 2015, I have to say, the stupid amount of money spent on different exhaust variations versus having just purchased a quality downpipe from the get go stands as the biggest frustration I had early on. Then, on the same setup, I thought res delete. This resulted in further dissatisfaction, except now I didn't even have my stock catback to utilize anymore. Long story short, after having most recently had a catless downpipe and some version close to just a basic resonated catback, I finally got it right, with a catted USP downpipe on a stock catback. @@89dungey I have bsr stage 1 Ecu tune and resonator delete. Everything else stock
So after watching this im actually about about to pick an oem one up and possibly do an ecs res delete with my boost dynamic crackle tune. I figured from everything i read the oem exhuast actually flows better than most afternarket ones and lasts forever and will sound miles better than my 2.25 stock exhaust with a tiny resonator wayyyyy to raspy lol
Thanks for the advice man. Just got an AP w/EQT tune and considering what's next. Looks like it's gonna be a down pipe xD
What kind of down pipe would you recommend ? Just bought my first gti. Its a 2017 autobahn edition
Ooooo ima buy a down pipe but need a tune too
Yes yes! Thanks for watching!
MedicMagic Thanks for the vid my dude
Took your advice and installed a CTS Turbo Catted DP on my 'Thanks
How does it sound?
Aye been watching/subscribed for a while. Love ur videos man, goodluck with everything.
Thanks so much!! I appreciate the support! And as always thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tip, dp will be my first exhaust mod.
No prob man! Thanks for watching!!
Hell ya man sounds good af to me
What’s up man! We have the same car, same year and everything except mines gray! Been watching your vids for a while now, good stuff.
So cool!! Thanks for watching Bryant!!
Wait is he saying get a downpipe w/o a Stage 2 tune? I always thought that was a bad idea and would prob thow O2 code? I just bought an Mk7 GTI w Unitronic S 2 and catted downpipe but need to de-tune to 1 or 1+ to pass emissions as 2 turns off too many OBDll monitors and all I've been reading is that a downpipe is ONLY good w a Stage 2 or above. If I have to go to a 1 and buy a stock pipe--WAY less performance and more money--I'm gonna be PISSED lol
Aftermarket downpipe with stock mufflers and resonator?
Yes sir! Thanks for watching Leo!
Siickkkk
I have two huge mufflers and a down pipe but the down pipe made no sound difference except for the turbo
but u did not tune this up right?
Sick video🤘Definitely getting a cts downpipe for my mk6
Yes yes yes!! Thanks for watching!
I’ve been on edge about getting the Maperformance catted dp for my Mk7 and this video might have just sealed the deal
you won't regret it!
Fully open..sawed mine off 😂 no lights, free, and the perfect purr🥰😎
haha savage!! Thanks for watching!
Hows the highway drone? This car is my daily and I take lots of road trips with it... I want a nicer sound but dont want to go crazy on long drives.
I’d like to get a downpipe and tune for my mk7 one of these days. Been trying to build a computer so that’s took most of my time and by time I mean money lol great video man!!
Lmao I've been thinking about building a sick computer for video editing! Thanks for watching!
The one I’m building is about $2300 so far 😓😂 I’ve been going a couple parts at a time but it’s slowing coming together. Should be done before the new year ” i hope”
Good video! Just have a question, what is better to delete resonator or muffler? thank you.
