Would def recommend trying the legendary cards - it's a must for every game for me (just like the player powers) since it adds some asymmetry and makes every game different!
I had one 2 player go with Newleaf, and we both enjoyed it, and then I had one solo play with Mistwood. Again enjoyed that. I play mostly solo, so these both work for me and I look forward to gradually exploring these two expansions. Thank you for the overview!
I really enjoyed playing Newleaf with Hannah! I love all the little things it adds to Everdell! And I also enjoyed the new solo opponent in Mistwood! 🕷️ Glad those two expansions were a good fit for you! (I'm so glad they're the ones Tabletop Tycoon sent me, too!) Thank you for the comment!
I'm definitely a base game kinda guy as well. But aside from obligatory AFFO, I found Moonrakers' Nomad exp elevated the base game quite a bit, and Newton's new map, Santa Monica's The Long Weekend added some much needed content to beloved games in our household.
Hey there, Tae! Thank you for checking out the video! And thank you for the expansion recommendations! I have the obligatory AFFO expansion (Although I have yet to play with it) but I’ve played Moonrakers and Newton, both without the expansions you mentioned! That’ll have to get remedied! ☺️
Hi, Luciana! Thank you for checking out the video! ☺️ Yes, Newleaf is such a wonderful addition to Everdell that it almost seems like a must-have if you’re a big Everdell fan! I’m so excited for you to give it a try! 🚂
Newleaf is especially good for 2 players. It's a great way to keep cycling through cards so you can find what you need. As for other favorite expansions, i love the both Dune: Imperium as well as all Clank expansions. Viticulture: Tuscany Essential Edition is great as well. And of course the Endless Winter and Unconscious Mind ones. :)
Yes! Hannah and I really enjoyed Newleaf at 2P and seeing more cards (and being less stressed about getting the exact right cards) helped make for a more enjoyable Everdell experience! ☺️ I’ve played with at least one Dune expansion (Rise of Ix, I think) and Tuscany is fun, too! 🍷 And Endless Winter and Unconscious Mind too, of course! (Did you get your copy of UM for playtesting?) 🧠
@@BoardGameDave IX gets all the hype, but I really liked immorality, possibly even more. The graft cards open up all sorts of clever combos, and the research board + another track are great, and the experimentation cards present agonizing decisions between agent and reveal turns. No UM yet, sadly. Been watching the "shipping label created" tracking for several weeks now. Looking forward to Sweet Mess with it too.
Interesting! I've definitely never played with that expansion! Sounds intriguing! 🤔 Sorry you haven't gotten your copy of UM yet! I have to imagine they'll be sending me one at some point but I don't seem to have any shipping notifications! (Not that I know my way around tracking shipments!) 📦
the player powers are actually from Bellfaire. Bellfaire adds 15 character powers, one to go with animal meeple shape that existed to that point. Because Newleaf added 4 more animal meeples, you got the 4 that match your animals that came with it to complete the set. Same way that Mistwood added 4 more animals and the power powers that match them
Thank you for the clarification! Would I be able to use the player powers that come with Newleaf and Mistwood without Bellfaire? (I don’t see any reason why not right?) 🤔 I haven’t played a game with the player powers yet but they seem interesting!
@@BoardGameDave yes you can use them. Bellfaire is all mix and max modules. The only change in the rules for using them is "do not gain a worker when you Prepare for spring." There are also some changes to how to use some of the cards when playing solo against Rugwort in the Bellfaire rulebook. I don't remember if mistwood or newleaf rulebooks include any edits for the powers that came in those sets
I have complete collection so I had never looked at the stand alone rulebooks, but I do see they included these rules in the mistwood rulebook too. It's really fun having all the expansions and being able to get a player power to match every animal
Gotcha! Thank you for the clarification! ☺️ I'm looking forward to trying some of the other expansions for Everdell as well-it seems like they each have so much to offer!
Ooo, that’s a great recommendation! 🍷 I own Viticulture and as much as I’ve enjoyed what the Tuscany expansion has to offer I haven’t bought it for myself yet!
I’ve never played Clinic but I see that the art is by Ian O’Toole on BGG so it went straight into my want-to-play list! Thank you for the recommendation! 🏥

Yeah, I'm curious to try them out the next time I get a chance! Thank you for the suggestion! ☺️

After I saw this video I bought the Newleaf expansion 😅🤭💖 Amazing video, my friend. ✨

That is very kind of you to say, thank you! ☺️
