Expert Interview: Seasonal Allergies and Migraine with headache neurologist Dr. Dana Ionel

When I first met Dr. Dana Ionel in Washington DC at Headache on the Hill this year, I fell in love with her positive energy, easygoing nature and deep commitment to advocating for headache and migraine patients.
Which, as you probably already know, is not all that common among neurologists. 😜
She was so dedicated to the cause that she joined us in meetings that she wasn’t even assigned to, just to be able to lend her medical expertise and make a bigger impact.
I’ll share my 20 minute interview with headache specialist Dr. Dana Ionel on Seasonal Allergies and Migraine.

Dr. Dana Ionel is an assistant professor at an academic hospital and a headache neurologist. She completed her medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, followed by her neurology residency and headache fellowship at the University of Kentucky. She is passionate about headache advocacy and improving the lives of those living with migraine and other headache disorders.
She was a participant in the Palatucci Advocacy Leadership Forum through the American Academy of Neurology (a program to equip providers with the tools necessary for patient advocacy), and was a participant in this year’s Headache On The Hill. In her free time, she enjoys cross stitching, playing board games with friends, and spending time with her family.
