I actually got sucked into this group back in 2014. I bought it hook, line and sinker...for a time anyway. But then about 6 months in I started asking too many questions and wound up mass blocked by every single member and group page on FB. Apparently never outgrowing the "why phase" is all that stands between me and religious indoctrination. I can see know how wild and out right ridiculous this all is, but through lived experience I can also understand how/why seemingly smart/strong folk get sucked in. They get ya when ya are weak, at a low point full of instability and isolation. This is why college campuses or other transitional places are fertile cult recruiting grounds. I actually got sucked into this group back in 2014. I bought it hook, line and sinker...for a time anyway. But then about 6 months in I started asking too many questions and wound up mass blocked by every single member and group page on FB. Apparently never outgrowing the "why phase" is all that stands between me and religious indoctrination. I can see know how wild and out right ridiculous this all is, but through lived experience I can also understand how/why seemingly smart/strong folk get sucked in. They get ya when ya are weak, at a low point full of instability and isolation. This is why college campuses or other transitional places are fertile cult recruiting grounds. I imagine the move from college to NFL ball is just as, possibly even more, disorienting and confusing as the move from home to post secondary.
