Just a quick note, and a pat on the back. I just recently found your channel, and I really enjoy it. I've been in R/C since about 1985, and just recently gotten back into it with motor gliders. I appreciate all your views, tips, and flights. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work.
Nice compact TX. I think Spektrum are missing the boat by not getting into the 'game controller' style market. Young people aren't going to want a huge box to hold when they're used to hand sized controls.
Interesting review an quite tempting for the money, I understand that the Radiomaster T8 Pro will be released in a month or two. I think that I will wait until then, as Radiomaster tend to make a better transmitter. All the best and keep up the good work
@@AndrewNewton I'm not even sure if I need one, but as you said it might come in handy for times when you don't want to take all your gear just for a quick flight
I've got a few eachine an XK rc models would they work with this transmitter? Have ended up with multiple tx which is good if you're flying with friends but a pain when you're out for a few hours by yourself. Advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have just received my transmitter so keen to check your review again. All good, than thank you for the thorough presentation. I will be excited to use this and I think handy for small planes and my assortment of tiny quadcopters as well. Just wondering if any significance with your epilog to the video with your running the thing outside along with the garbage bin? I would hope no inference with that??
I was wating your review before i click purchase ... Did you try a frsky vario on this radio for gliders. Or other frsky sensors such amp meter for example?
"I need glasses to read that screen" and "that bright LED gives me a headache!" Sounds like you need to find yourself an optometrist mate! 😜 No reverse polarity protection on something that uses easily reversed 18650s!? Sounds like a great "programmed obsolescence" feature! How much does a 1N diode cost these days? Nice flying weather down there though. Beats the winds, storms, tropical lows, mosquitoes and midge up here at this time of year.
I'd buy one, but it just looks stupid. Maybe appeals to those who like holding a pair of truck nuts. Teeny tiny screen, no reverse polarity protection and no JR bay means... it's a real
Have you got a link to set up T-Lite for fix wing. I would like to use this unit for my DLG and mutiple fix wing planes. It is very differant to my 7C and FR-i6 tx. Your help would be much appreciated. Cheers Colin
Good suggestion Colin. I have done lots with the Taranis Q X7 but the T-Lite and RadioMaster TX12 are just a bit different to warrant basic setup videos. It's on the list.
Would you recommend this or the jumper t12 pro for fixed wing? I’m just starting out and am yet to get a radio. I was wanting a small radio that has 4 in 1 so I can also bind to my t720. So far I prefer pinching over thumbing. I wasn’t sure if I really needed a slider which the t12 pro has but I’m open to suggestions
Hi new to rc remote's just balt the jumper t lite will it fly the new micro a10 warthog Spectrum receiver and thanks for the video and very informational
Hello, thanks for the review. I am waiting on the same radio and because of thatI was looking for the link for the audio files but i couldnt find it. You did mention you would drop a link but i just cant see it.
Hmm... So it'll fit in a pocket, eh? Well, as one of those 'woman' things I don't generally go in for big baggy pockets, so I carry my Tx on a neckstrap. The problem with something as teeny as this, though, is that I'm rather top-heavy and the dear little thing would disappear into Cleavage Canyon and never be seen again.
Download the "t-12" version of the SD card contents from here downloads.open-tx.org/2.3/release/sdcard/ and copy over to an SD card then insert into the T Lite.
Got it working thanks for the help. Now if I can figure out why I keep getting “all slots full” message not sure how to stop that or which button acts as the “exit” hot key. Thanks again for your help

Power limitation is not the 18650 battery itself, but the DC to DC step up on the radio.
Nice Demo of the TX Andrew! I love seeing all these Multi-Protocol Transmitters coming out in all their various form factors ;-) See you in the Air!
Right on mate . I was gonna e-m you n ask you to review this. Bravo. Thx mate
FPV Wheelie bin..... Now there is an idea for rainy bin nights
The bin was to signify where all the other radio's ended up...
That's right, all the non OpenTX radios

Hi Andrew, at 9:30 that's because the 18650 cell is a 'flat top' hopefully a 'button top' (from a vaping shop ??) will fit better.
Aha, that would work

Most likely yes. But some individual models are not supported.
Nice one👍❤

Oh no, it's great little radio. The RC bin driving was a poor attempt at humour
Playing games in the field 😊
Really big pockets, indeed!
I was wating your review before i click purchase ... Did you try a frsky vario on this radio for gliders. Or other frsky sensors such amp meter for example?
Checked vario and lipo sensors today and yes everything works same as any OTX radio.
@@AndrewNewton Cool. thats what i need to know
Andrew, can it be programmed withOpen TX Companion?
It will be included in the next update I expect.
Amazing 🤗👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Andrew, great review. Can't find the link to the Amber sounpack in the comments ... Any idea where to get that ? Thanks, Paul
open-txu.org/home/version-2/v2-2-resources-2/
just use a black pen to reduce the led light ;) or put it inside the case it and stick a strap holder in its place
Strap holder is a great idea

I actually see Flysky AFHDS3 protocol on it... was that a typo? or are there actually plans to make it work?
Just means the Multiprotocol firmware supports the AFHDS3 external module, but not necessarily on this radio.
I'd buy one, but it just looks stupid.

hi! what kind of receiver did you use for the planes? I use this radio on my quads but I'd like to restore my easystar and a custom made plane!

Different firmware?
Would like to setup fixed wing also has any one setup a delta for this controller?
Yes someone definitely has.

I would go for the T12 for full fixed wing functionality
@@AndrewNewton Hi Andrew, thanks for your review. Could you please elaborate what do you mean by full fixed wings functionality ?
New to this type radio do you use a controller board on like beta flight for everything?
Normal RC OpenTX transmitter that will work with many different protocol receivers
Hi new to rc remote's just balt the jumper t lite will it fly the new micro a10 warthog Spectrum receiver and thanks for the video and very informational
Depends which RF module is in your radio. The JP4IN1 version will bind to more different receivers than the CC2500 version.
@David Godleski If you bought the Jumper T-Lite with the JP4IN1 Multi-protocol then yes it will connect to your micro a10 warthog Spectrum receiver.

but will it support r9 or r9m

Oops sorry, I'll add it now. Have to use the T12 SD card contents - downloads.open-tx.org/2.3/release/sdcard/opentx-t12/
Thank you
@@AndrewNewton forgot to ask: How to proceed? Just dump all the content to a SD card?
Unzip the downloaded folder and copy the contents of that folder to the SD card
Does this transmitter have mix to use flaperon, elevon and Vtail with planes?
There is a plane setup wizard that has some pre programmed mixes, but you can do any mix with OpenTX.
Gracias

It does have delta mix in the model wizard, but I never use the wizard.

Do I just add the entire folder to the sd card or the individual audio files?
All folders and files inside the downloaded folder eg. EEPROM - FIRMWARE - LOGS etc.

What does fixed wings mean?
It means not helicopter or multi rotor.
means the wing can't rotate
