It was good intuition and feeling to not fully trust emperor and try to free Orpheus to see how he really is. I did the harder way and didn't get the contract then found how to get to house of hope and stolen that hammer Raphael mentioned about. The afterfight dialogues were awesome too, Lae'zel gone to fight Vlakid and if u convince illithid Orpheus to go with her, it feels like its instant success since what powers he have. He for sure later on will give Laezel to be queen and sacrifice himself because he can't live as illithid. Emperor while killing netherbrain, you can get the ending when he is alone at the street and people killing him lol. Sure both endings are good because somehow emperor "trust" you, but his ending is more bittersweet than happy, while Orpheus ending is amazing, especially with DC roll without killing him. Spoiler! I think the only one who should turn into a mindflayer without hesitation should be the dark urge. In the end this entire thing is their fault. But that's just my opinion.
You have to do all the side missions before the big final boss fight (the netherbrain fight) as after this battle the only other thing is Withers end scene party.
Orpheus is a hypocrite. He was infected all along and he was hiding it. Thats why it didnt take effort to make him turn. Through the whole game all the githyanki are portrayed as cold warmongerers and the connection with them is pure necessity. If Vlaakith stays in power, literally nothing changes. If Orpheus takes power, whats to guarantee he wont be a nuisance in the future? There's no positive relationship with the githyanki. So its very hard to sympathize with them. Orpheus dying is pretty dumb as well. Orpheus isnt a good guy by any means. He's a cold calculating githyanki with allot at stake. He would have had Lae'zel or some other loyalist become a mindflayer. And thing is, if you turn mindflayer you technically die. Withers said mindflayers have no soul. And when the main character makes the suggestion to Orpheus, there's an option to revoke the suggestion with the commentary "Keep your soul". Its like becoming a vampire. And when you become a mindflayer, not only does the mindflayer look like the wimpiest mindflayer ever; it looks and behave like nothing your character was. The only thing left is the voice and memories. And that goes away. It doesnt matter if Lae'zel gets to to die serving Orpheus or die rebelling against Vlaakith, she will still be the same old Lae'zel. I say, let the githyanki hold that L and move on to the next chapter tadpole free.
It was more than likely Balduran who infected him. During Act 3 private dialogue with Balduran, you can drop the pleasantries and insult him for being a mindflayer. Balduran will drop the act and call you an inferior thrall he dominates. And that you dont have a choice but to do what he says because he is superior. Orpheus becoming a mindflayer wasnt a shapechanging spell, it was an infection while subjugated by Balduran. @@__Infinity_Hearts__
I’m pretty sure he was tadpoled by the emperor so he can control him. Idk why you say he’d rather have one of his followers do it when HE LITERALLY does it himself lmao. He also seemed to really care about you killing his honor guard and was willing to work with you despite doing everything the elder brain and emperor railroaded you into doing. Also since his honor guard were mostly monks I’m guessing he has some connection to the githzerai so it’s likely he will unite both githyanki and githzerai against vlaakith
If you watch the dialogue between Orpheus and Voss while he is and isnt a mindflayer between both scenes you will see the contrast in both Orpheu's confidence and Voss's confidence. If he isnt a mindflayer he obviously has more influence on the Githyanki loyalist and the Vlaakith supporters. As mindflayer that drastically dilutes his influence and Voss has to cover up he was a mindflayer when he defeated the Elder Brain. It should really go without saying, but I will explicitly state Lae'zel or any loyalist would give their life for Orpheus without a thought. Any of them could have chosen to turn mindlflayer. With so much at stake and with the customary coldness of the githyanki, Orpheus would have actually sacrificed one of his followers to more effectively take down Vlaakith himself. Imagine that, Orpheus with his unique powers rally his people against Vlaakith. Versus no super-powered Orpheus and just Voss or Lae'zel leading the fight. Obviously the intelligent option would have been Orpheus sacrificing a peon to give his plans the best chance possible. @@JordanJumpin

Wait.. He was tadpoled at some point?
Did he have a tadpole tho?
How did Shadowheart do 4 spells in one action?
how did he become mindflayer without tadpole?
Used his powers and planted one in his brain
I thought that was weird. Interestingly if you take the tapole from the emperor and you dont use it immediately, and then betray the emperor, the scene involving the transformation of orpheus plays out that you give orpheus the same tadpole you put away
Rolled a nat 20
He is just that powerful :)
So wait was Orpheus infected already when he was imprisoned?
This is the best ending. His entire race is fucked up and him winning the war against vlakit would unleash a greater evil upon the stars.
Does this happen if you get the Hammer? I didn't have it and I never got the option but now I have it
so will i become a mind flayer if i choose this option or no i just wanna b sure
Yes you'll become a mindflayer. 100%
Do you get unlimited spell slots at the end?
Spoiler!
I think the only one who should turn into a mindflayer without hesitation should be the dark urge. In the end this entire thing is their fault. But that's just my opinion.
Once you've finished the campaign, is the game over or can you still do the side missions?
Over
You have to do all the side missions before the big final boss fight (the netherbrain fight) as after this battle the only other thing is Withers end scene party.
I say, let the githyanki hold that L and move on to the next chapter tadpole free.
just play as tav as a gith, you will understand it better
@@JordanJumpin
is there anyway I can make other companion to be a mindflayer? I'd love to choose gale or wyll as mindflayers since I never use them
How did you get shadowheart to change her hair white? I made her spare the nightsong but it’s still black when I get to this cutscene
U had to have removed the shadow curse
Edit: I'm wrong btw, you just have to save the night song and get shadow heart to switch goddess, MB
@@fedbans5445a big nope. She changes her hair white regardless whether you dealt with shadow curse. The trigger seems to instead be nightsong telling shadowheart about her past at camp and having long rest afterwards.
You need to convert her to Serlune, then she will change her hairstyle and ask you about how is her new look.
@@fedbans5445 No
You have to save night song and yurn against sharr then she will be free and will turn her hair into white cause she belives in selune now..
how do you dress shadowhearth like this??
Easy, just buy every single piece of clothing you meet in game. With Astarions pickpocket, it is easy to have 15k gold minimum by the end of the game, also, you can pick up lots of keys from the Bank vaults throughout the city where many riches are
There's a mission at the docs in the city, there will be a ceremony, proceed with the quest and they'll ask you to avenge their fallen mermaids, go to the Steel Watch foundry and proceed that mission as well you'll eventually meet the murderer of the mermaid, make a deal don't kill, he'll take you to the Iron Throne, when you get back, the mermaids' people will be waiting then let the mermaids take the murderer they'll award you with the outfit
@@petrskalak5070 It's merely a protection fee. if it weren't for your Mary band they would all be livestock or squid people slaves
that was funny lmao@@petrskalak5070
Easy difficulty 😂
Sorry but only canon ending is Tav becoming illithid to me.
We need a dlc to get dragons and kill vlaakith
