you have got to find a niche and stick with it. i think a good way to take your channel is vehicles because a lot of people like vehicles. also throw it some music and editing. you will get more views I guarantee you.

Hi, I really appreciate the suggestions. I would actually love to have a bunch of niche channels rather than just uploading a random variety of stuff to this one channel.
I really wish UA-cam would let me have one monetized user account and then allow me to create lots of monetized niche channels.
But since they demonetized small channels back in 2018, I just put everything on this main channel.
In order to start a new channel, a creator would have to wait until you have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of view time before you can apply for monetization.
I'm not going to spend a year or more trying to build a new channel for my other interests (R/C cars, drones, travel, pets, home repair, etc.) while waiting to monetize it (which might never happen).
Most people find my videos via the search feature. So if they are looking for dog ASMR, a specific car repair DIY guide, foster kittens/puppies, or a car show walkaround video, they will find it that way.
I do edit my DIY videos. I understand that some people like background music but I personally find the music on a lot of other videos to be annoying when you're just trying to learn how to do something.
I've had a lot of people thank me for not having distracting music on a DIY video.
I only put background music on videos like on-board R/C car track videos to make them a bit more exciting. 😁
Another good idea for UA-cam would be if they would allow people to subscribe to a "category" of someone's UA-cam channel. So if you subscribe to one of my "pets & animals" category videos, you would only see those types of videos when I upload them. Another person might subscribe on one of my "autos & vehicles" videos and only see car videos in their subscriber feed.
So until something changes at UA-cam, the theme of my channel is my life and whatever I happen to be doing that day. 🙂
Thanks again for your comment. I do really appreciate the constructive criticism.

@@Paul79UF thank you for this intersting take. i hadn't thought of that while scrolling through your account. although I can GARUNTEE it would be much much more profitable for you to stick to one subject or another but as you say and you are correct its unfair to those still learning patters of viewers to get started on a fresh channel
