Samsung refrigerator RF27CG5400SR vegetable crisper shelf glass removal

  • This video will show you how to remove the glass from the Samsung RF27CG5400SR model refrigerator. It doesn't show you how to remove the shelf itself from the refrigerator because there are several other videos that do that. You just squeeze (hard) the tabs below the shelf and above the water filter at the front of the shelf and lift up on the shelf. Hopefully this video helps people with the glass removal, because as near as I can tell, there's no other video on UA-cam that covers this.
    Also, I said that this might be a Bespoke model, but I don't think it is.

    Now that my blood pressure has returned to a normal level I’d like to say thank you for taking the time to explain this obnoxious design. My shelf is clean, my wife is happy and now I may rest.

      You are very welcome! And I must confess that it was also my wife that drove me to find a solution, because I really didn't care that much. lol
      But after being asked to figure it out and going through all the other videos, documentation, and websites, none of which were the least bit helpful, I felt compelled to make this video, just for the rest of you. I'm glad it's helping people.

    Darrel doing the lords work a million videos and not one on this model, god bless you man!
    I was having trouble taking the plastic off, my wife had the idea of just hosing it down with pressured water and it worked like a charm, no need to damage the plastic!

    • @pumpknhd
      @pumpknhd  3 місяці тому +1

      Yep! God said "Make this video." I'm just being obedient. lol
      Great idea your wife had. I think as long as you're careful, you can remove that plastic strip without damage. I didn't damage ours and I wasn't yet sure of what I was doing. You might be able to tell that after I found the solution to the first step that I was kinda winging it after that, but it all worked. If I had to make the video over again, I'd do it a little differently (and also have my wife watch what she's filming more closely - lol), but I think this video works so there's no need to re-shoot it. It's helping a lot of people, so I'm happy about that.

    Hi thanks for the video it really helped, I wanted to let people know for removing the gray part instead of using a knife, you could use a metal spatula that also works if your are scared to break the glass or the metal. I also had a hard time removing the glass, it was already loose, so I just put warm water and soap in it eventually got in the nooks and crannies of the glass without moving the glass and cleaned it itself if you are too scared to remove the glass and break something.

    • @salmanuman5821
      @salmanuman5821 Місяць тому +1

      So as a summary of the video you don’t have to remove the glass since the corners became loose little bit after you remove the horizontal gray part , when you flip it to wash it the water will get under the glass and get drained from the corners❤

    Thank you for this video! Anyway you can show us how you put it back together? We can't get the glass popped back in

    • @pumpknhd
      @pumpknhd  3 дні тому

      Hi, Kim! I think what I recall doing to get the glass back in was to set it as far back in its spot as you can, so you'll be making sure the back of the glass is seated in its place towards what would be the back/rear of the shelf. Then, you'll want to pull slightly down on the front lip which should have the effect of exposing the gap at the front of the shelf and then giving you space to then press the glass back into place. I don't recall using any special tools to do this. Do note that the glass does have SOME flex to it if you need to bend it a LITTLE to get it in place. If you're still having trouble, you might consider putting the shelf by the sink and then pouring some hot water over the plastic to soften it up and allow it to flex easier. I hope that helps you.

      Thank you, Kyla! Yeah, the lack of documentation and ability to find anything helpful anywhere is what prompted the video. I couldn't let other people suffer like I did. Hopefully people are using the model number to search for the video, because there are so many other videos out there that aren't helpful at all, and if they don't search by model, they might not find this one, though I did put a lot of key words in there for searching.
