Plants VS Zombies 2. is a game that has a lot of variation in the former and latter elements. The former is often discussed, but the Zombie variety? Nowhere near as much, so lets talk about it in relatively low depth in a brisk format. This video took too long to make and I am sick and tired of editing this and will never edit like this again, but the video is decently cool so I ain't complaining. Hope you enjoyed it as much, or more, than I did editing it.

It's worth noting that basics actually vary in what gimmicks they are affected by. For example, only Wild West basic zombies can dance when a Piano Zombie is on screen.
Is like Gargs in that regard, some of them have special traits that diferiante between others (FC can't be Frozen, only peasant zombies can become into knights, and BWB have gender variants)

Edit fun fact: They were scrapped concept for female zombies on PvZ1 , one zombie were in the form of Kids, which probably were replaced by Imps due that the image of Doom-Shrooming one of them could had been controversial to say the least. The other is even more wacky, a mother zombie, whose baby she had in charge would resemble a Gargantuar(!!!???).

Jester zombie seems like something I would design when I was young, as in "my zombie is immune to everything and destroys everything"
This makes me think some developer’s kid actually designed this
Fun fact: there’s actually a veteran version called Clown zombie; which has the same abilities as Jester zombie but instead of merely reflecting the projectile it turns it into a Curving Laser that deals 1.5x the plant’s damage to all plant’s in the same diagonal row as the plant. It also has 1.2x the Hp of a jester zombie

You forgot to mention that bonk choy will always kill both the bug and the zombie at the same time without dropping the zombie, and always with the same amount of punches, regardless if it's a basic; cone or buckethead

One thing I noted with Swashbuckler, is that PvZ2, really, *really* enjoys to put zombies in the first fourth lanes, mainly in special zombies and ambushes.
Even Jurasic Marsh main gimmick is based on that!

The hidden plate is a reference to A Fistful of Dollars. The Back in the Future reference refers to the same.

The Brickhead zombies can actually vary from world to world they don’t have the same health schools all the time because they will change the health rules of each enemy occasionally so their health is not fully global, but in most of the worlds, it is the same
Not entirely. All of the fourth tier basic zombies that don't follow the Brickhead stats were introduced to the game as part of the world that they belong to before Brickheads were created. Brickheads And they're variants were created specifically for the worlds that got expansions, so the only variants of Brickhead are Pyramid-Head, Barrel-Head Cart-Head, Holo-Head and Amber-Head.
Blockhead, Fossilhead and Knight are not variants of Brickhead because they were introduced prior.

2:30 Imps eat slightly faster than standard zombie types. The jurassic marsh variant is even faster at eating.
Something you forgot about seagull (and pelican) is that they're the introduction to flying zombies, thus making you learn their immunity to low plants like spikeweed/rock, potato mine, spring bean, iceberg lettuce and so on.
They're a little taste of certain zombies that you will find later in the game like jetpack zombie or zombug.
Also the fact that butter is a oneshot for them and the dragonflies (I... think?)

I love the lack of intro in this video, makes it feel really rapid-fire and to the point. Keep intros for your other videos though. Great watch, even though I know most of these guys by heart.
There are some special zombies in events such as the carnie zombies although most event zombies are only retextures.
Penny's persuit also has the z-corp zombies, some of which are unique.
Oh and there's also Imp Pear's imps and Zoy Bean's zomboids and Solar Sage's redeemed zombies.
I'm no expert but,who thought it'd be OK to make the imp amd gargantuar variants for z Corp both have gargantuar's installed kill move and have the imp equivalent still have its speed, it's a gargantuar the size of an imp with the speed of an imp and the strength of a gargantuar and the only thing to balance that insane combo is that (as far as I'm aware) they can't be thrown like normal imps
@@monke7919 I suppose that Penny's Pursuit is supposed to be hard so having OP zombies isn't surprising. They just wanted an extra challenge.
And we also have the Roman Zombies, which also have some unique ones.

The Wild West basic zombie did have a unique quality back in the day. The hat would be able to tank 2 peashooter hits I remember counting it to make sure. Making the zombie take 12 pea hits in stead of the original 10 hits to defeat it
Nah, I recall that too but after the hat is knocked off the zombie only needed 8 peas to kill. I distinctly remember the wiki calling out the almanac’s “Protected” toughness for Wild West basic to be wrong
I remember its almanac entry used to say "Solid" instead of "Average"

it caught me even more off-guard. it's still weird to me being able to talk about the game outside of the beta tests.
One little unknown about a lot of the Imp variants is that they can in fact be countered by blover as they are technically counted as airborne when thrown, its a very tight window tho so is not too worth it unless its something like Far Future with the bot swarms

One thing to note about Imps (at least when I last played this game, which was… forever ago, so this could be outdated info), on levels where they can spawn on the lawn normally (aka walking from the far right side of the lawn like most zombies)- namely in endless modes- if an Imp spawns in the early part of a level the game sometimes incorrectly registers this as the current wave timer being at 0 which brings in the next zombie(s). This can be especially bad in levels like Greatest Hits which can trigger the Hair Metal jam (which almost always spawns Gargs in every lane) in less than 10 seconds if you get nothing but Imp spawns.
Love to see a new video from you man, wish you would upload more often, I would enjoy more content about mods.

P.S. Turquoise Skull Zombies don't actually charge up faster with the absorbed sun - their laser beam just grows in length, allowing for more far-reaching attacks.
P.P.S. I love the Undertale Yellow soundtracks being used here. It's quickly becoming iconic and I'm all in for it :D

As an additional note, the bug zombie in the explorer levels can also be countered by Bonk Choy, which uppercuts them as a final blow to instant kill the zombie when the bug dies, rather than having it drop on the field.

The only thing that i noticed is that you did not say what would happen when balloon zombie looses his balloon.
Well i have a way to counter the fisherman zombie, resuming, you bring infi-nut "wall nut that has low hp but recover h.p after a while from far future" the plant food effect make fisherman zombies useless while active, also works for imps as well "with they are lauched they hit the force field and get stuck"

Seagull, bug and pelican zombies all have separate HP for the bird that's carrying them (usually less than the zombie itself) and killing the bird also kills the zombie. Catapults and other lobbed projectiles deal damage to the bird/bug directly.

I hate when dragon burns out the lane and then INSTANTLY fires a dragon imp on it focing you to use powers

The Cowboy Basic used to be able to tank 2 more pea shots and afterwards the hat would fall off in older Version. It has been changed an update somewhere though. It's also on the wiki

Yeah, UTY is very underrated, mostly because Undertale is not popular anymore and that's sad when you see such a good and dedicated game just not really get any attention.
