Took me a few days (thanks flu) but I made it! This is very well done, I'd like to say I'm proud of you if not for how pretentious it would sound. Haha Chugga and I actually talked about this the other night after I saw your tweet, I brought it up to him and we slapped down 10 or 12 locations. He was a big fan of Magicant and I was all about the Grapefruit Falls (though he was quick to agree). We both agreed about the hot springs, Lighter's house, and Milky Well. The construction site in Mother 3 came up too, I was pretty surprised to see it on your list. I never considered Underground Prison before but that's a pretty good one too! I thought about Sunflower Fields, but I worry about it being too bright, and as you mentioned, bugs. If there was a tree there, that would be a whole nother story. I also deeply appreciate your agreement about the Scaraba temperature. Last comment I remember getting about that was something like "Imagine complaining about the weather man for five minutes." Heh, oh well. The temperature for Summers beach is actually 88, but Toto is 82 so no harm done. Like, that's how scarred I was by those temperatures that I still even now have them all memorized. And I'm still annoyed that Fourside didn't get one, although let's face it, Fourside may as well be 90. Sheesh. And now you've got me brainstorming about making another one of these. I've been leaning heavily toward Phoenix Wright being my next one, for a couple of reasons. Mainly 'cause it's been in my head for the better part of a year now (if not longer), and also because after that, I think I would want to start bringing it down to individual games rather than series. Like for example if I did Mario, there's just too many OF them, and I'd probably want to split it up because I can think of 10 spots in Super Mario Sunshine alone. The only exception for now anyway is Metroid, which is proving to be a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, and exacerbated by the fact I've never finished Other M. Anyway, what a mouthful. Yeah, great job !! NCS
Hi Tim, thank you so much for commenting, this is a dream come true for me, as I’ve been following you and Chugga both for about 15 years now. Thank you for everything you’ve contributed to this platform, and again, I deeply appreciate your comment. Hope we can talk sometime. 💛🌎
I'd love to sleep in Moonside. Here me out, while it is all weird and funky I feel like the vibe there is great an entire city lit by colours on the outlines of buildings, the endless darkness beyond the neon lit city. I don't know it just feel like a calm place if you don't count the melting clocks and cars that may attack you.
As someone with insomnia due to ruminating on anxious thoughts, the idea of trying to sleep in a spot where your inner voice is projected onto the wall as tangible messages you can read back is horrifying lol--I could have my back turned but I'd be too tempted to look 😆 Great video, awesome list! I love that you were inspired by another creator and made something uniquely your own, this was a perfect concept to apply to the MOTHER series. I especially appreciated you pointing out the places that had a character actually sleeping there in the game, like Apple Kid in Burglin Park!
I feel like any high place in Onett would be amazing, getting to look out at the massive town below you. Ness's house is the obvious choice, but giant step and the metepr crash site would be great too.
Very weird choice from me since I have different parameters, but I would fix up the broken house you could optionally buy in Earthbound and sleep there. A cheap house all by myself next to a beautiful ocean? Sign me up!
I love this video so much. I connect with it so much, as this is exactly the type of stuff I tend to think about in games. Also, I always thought that Dungeon Man would be well air-conditioned (especially with the hospital in there) I love the idea of taking locations in gaming and appreciating the pleasantness of simple activities like sleeping or having tea in such nice and cozy areas. There’s something oddly comforting about things like that and I love it; that’s why I love this video so much. Edit: I also share/agree with your appreciation for seclusion and privacy. Even if there was one or two others to share it with, the idea of relaxing in such places is truly a hermit’s/introvert’s paradise. A cozy and warm cabin in the cold of winter with a nice fireplace sounds lovely, too.
Ok, but have you considered that capsule Porky seals himself in at the end of the third game, the forever something... forgot what it's called... I'm certain that thing was built for absolute comfort for all eternity... just gotta get to it before he does though...
i remember leaving a comment on the original video about seeing this exact video. idk if tim would make it, but if he never does, this is a very nice alternative.
That moment when you realise you don’t have someone else to sleep next to because your an earthbound player. Also imo I couldn’t sleep in any of these places because I need a big puffy blanket on me to feel comfy… ye I hate summer…
okay, but isn't summers supposed to be like france-spain-italy-portugal? i always interpreted it that way bc of its location on the mother 2 map, the whole not-pronouncing-the-H-in-words-that-start-with-H thing, and the fact that you basically get to scaraba by just going directly south
I was fully expecting this to be more of a "bed/couch ranking" for some reason, but I think that ultimately that that might turn into something weird where you have to go "Duster's bed probably smells like Duster. So that's a 0/10 or a 10/10 depending on how much you want to smell him."
The sunflower field gets an A+ for concept, but my hay fever would see me suffering within the first 10 minutes 😭 truly a privilege to be able to sleep there
Nice vid but how did you not pick the area right outside the Tazmily Sanctuary where Lighter is stretched out on the bed and the song "soft rain" plays? I actually fell asleep the last 2 times I played Mother 3 right there.
I say "Tahn-ay Tahn-ay" now. Said "Tain-Tain" for a long time because that's how a lot of oldhead Starmen.net people would say it back when the Fan Translation was new.
This video feels like it was made exclusively for the protagonist of Omori. He rates every bed in town that he can examine on a 0-10 scale. It's a safe bet he'd pick Magicant.
0:11 "Every game in the trilogy begins with the main character waking-up in a bed. Especially this one." Why must you begin the video with blatant lies?

Mother is 100% fact checked by MonkeyNess to be the most comfy RPG of all of them
I'd fall asleep in a hot spring and drown immediately
The cave of the past could be quite comfy imo, allowing you to sleep uninterrupted for all of eternity
Agreed. Only problem ngl would be the creepy ambience
I'd love to sleep in Moonside.

Ness and Paula's houses are just so cozy and nice and the music is just the cherry on top to make you feel sleepy.

I was almost expecting the absolutely safe capsule to be number one with how much he wants to get away from everything.
Not quite to that extent lol
Maybe Porky’s bed mech would be nice now that he isn’t using it. Although it’s probably stinky because he probably had never gotten off of it before.
I'm gonna have to go with the seaside shack in Onette, the view is amazing :)
I would like to sleep in the Lost Underworld the music is so quiet

Ahh, this was incredibly comfy
top tier cozy level video
Top 25 places id smash in the mother series
I'd have to swap Alec's house and Lumine hall personally but I can see why they were the top two. Cozy as FUCK
