You boys saved the motor with your hard work. We have the 3FE motor in our 89’ . It’s a bit thirsty so we have a 40 gallon tank ( 151 liters) keep up the great work.
That was definitely one big Mesh 😢. Years ago they use to empty the oil out and replace it with diesel drive it for a week ((( But had to top up the diesel in the motor frequently it cleaned the engine internals. (( But the draw back a lot of Smoke out of the exhaust when taking off.
That's a very nice FJ60. It's a keeper. The stripes were classic too. Since it's going to the NT it needs a sun visor (sold my Mr Landcruiser). I'd also add headlight protectors. I like the Hella halogen driving lights. The whole thing is just classy and stylish. Fred Dibnah would approve.
The FJ62 with 3F carb models, square headlamps started in '88, up to '90 I believe? Mine is a base FJ62 from '89, in the South African Bushveld. I just finished the front axle and hubs today, seals, tranion bearings etc, now needs a new Aisin waterpump, etc.

I’m surprised with the amount of carbon build-up that the engine did not require rebuilding.
Lucky you found it before the engine let go.
She’s like a little time capsule

Great content! Are you interested in testing some vehicle lighting from Suparee? I mean sponsorship.
