  • This Landcruiser has been on the back burner for years. Finally after being pulled out of a storage unit years ago in pieces and moved around into 4 different resting places. She now finally is ready to get a well deserved power plant. There isn't a lot of videos out there with detailed information on how to put one of these v8s into an old Landcruiser. So I tried to highlight the main areas of attack when undertaking your own swap.

You're my favorite TLC builder on here. I can actually do this stuff myself but I am not tackling an 80 series chassis under a 60 series body. And I am not spending $300k to have some boutique fabrication shop do it either. Keep going, bro!

When and if my Tundra fails, dropping a Toyota 5.7L would be interesting

Hey man, you would make good money offering complete wiring harnesses for 60/62, I know i’m not the only one who had a pain in the butt trying to workout all the old cooked cables in my LC. By having all that experience, you can get it sorted out and get someone to make them for you just to distribute. TLC4x4 posted about doing something similar but for LS conversions

I am assuming that you broke in the camshaft....... Also those flex fans don't always cool that great. think of going with a clutch style fan with a shroud for best cooling. I would have to go back to some earlier videos to see if you talked about what bellhousing to trans adaptor and clutch you are running. Can't wait to see more of this build. Have a great week. It's a Roller Cam. The Fan seems to be working just fine. But appreciate the headsup. I'll be going throught he Trans stuff in the next video. It's a Ranger Overdrive twin stick set up.
