Your front cable from the pedal should have a threaded rod on it with two nuts. The front cable goes into one end of an adjuster bracket(similar to the one used to connect all three cables at the center rear of the chassis), with one nut securing the bracket to the front cable. The intermediate cable attaches to the adjuster bracket in the same manner as the left parking cable attaches to the same style of bracket where all three cables are joined. The purpose of the adjuster bracket under the driver side rocker is to provide enough slack in the assembly to join the intermediate and front cables manually(without the cable strap and vice grip technique), and by tightening the adjuster on the threaded rod, the slack in the cable can be taken up. The second nut on the threaded rod is a lock nut to keep the adjuster from loosening. So, for this job, you need two adjuster brackets, and one cable joiner bracket. Otherwise, good job and thank you very much for posting this video. Now I can do the same for my 1995 Buick riviera.

From one "Smitty" to another, thanks for that "not suggested" way of pulling the rear section of the cable with the ratchet strap. That's the final process I needed to know in order to separate my cables and complete the total removal of my sub frame in my 2005 LeSabre. Soon as everything is ready, the black POR 15 paint gets applied to the entire sub frame and the control arms will be removed, cleaned real well with my wire brush wheel then clear coated to protect the alum. from any more chances of getting corrosion. A lot of work for just me laying under the car on cardboard in my shop. Wish I had a lift! Good thing I'm retired and have another car to use in the mean time.

I have a 2001 Buick Lesabre and my Emergency Brake just recently quit on me...Is it expensive to fix? Will my emergency brake light and the emergency chime go off after it is repaired? Thanks! Also in May 2022 I changed my front and rear brake pads, did this cause my Emergency Brake to break? Will I be able to drive the car three miles with the chime warning going off? Will it hurt my computer to drive it like this to the mechanics?

Sorry for the slow response. Guessing a couple hundred in cables. Dinging comes from the sensor on the pedal. If the tension in the cable pulls the foot pedal up and presses the button on the switch it will shut of the light. It doesn't roll without pressing the gas, that means that your brake is stuck and I wouldn't drive it. If it rolls easily, you are probably ok.

You never showed the front cable going from the parking brake pedal being installed, bad
