Killing Ocelot would have featured a cameo from the voice of Colonel Campbell in the game over telling you not to change the future.
In the first version of the game on PS2 there was an easter egg in the prison section, to activate it we had to save the game, Para-Medic would talk to us about a movie as usual but this time Snake would stop her because he is afraid of vampires saying that he even has nightmares about them , after saving, close and load the game, once the game is ready we will find ourselves in a warehouse and we will not control Snake but a guy with swords and we will also be fighting against vampires , then Snake will wake up revealing that all that was a nightmare and we will return to the normal gamplay. This was actually a demo for a game that never came out.
The bullet Ocelot is carrying as a necklace is the one that jammed in his gun on the very first encounter with Snake. It’s that one bullet that made him hit the floor and lose against Snake. Ever since, he keeps it around with him as a reminder and also as a thank you token to send back to Snake, with interest.

As terrifying as the Shagohod concept is, it is ultimately unrealistic and unpractical. Not only would the runway be demolished every time a missile would be launched, the acceleration of the Shagohod does NOT increase the missile's range.
Just a note regarding Eva's lipstick During the Cold War, female KGB agents were given lipstick devices that actually contained a basic gun mechanism with a single bullet, the 'Kiss Of Death', which could be used to kill someone from close range. It was shown Eva had one at the start of the game on the helicopter, her pulling out her lipstick to threate Sokolov was a little fake-out, for both him and the audience. Also, Volgin's not gay, he's bi. He's basically been abusing and assaulting Eva ever since the game began. Also also: 'Tanya' is short for 'Tatyana' in the Russian language. The same with 'Anastasia' being shortened to 'Anya'.
1) Lmao about Rikov personally invading your space and grabbing Snake Package, when I saw that when I was younger I was like wtf?? You were like what just happened!!! lmao You can technically open the locker where he is and then put him back in.
Back when I was a child The Sorrow's "Boss Fight" was the single most confusing thing I have ever experienced. It was before I went back to MGS1 and fully understood what a "Kojima fake-out" meant.
Do you want to know how reckless U.S. government spending is? The Philosophers' Legacy is $100 billion in 1964. In 2024 dollars, that is a bit more than $1 trillion. The current US deficit, not total debt (which is a bit more than $33 trillion), but *annual deficit* is around $1.3 trillion. The amount of money that the U.S. doesn't have but is nevertheless spending *each year* is more than the entire Philosophers' Legacy. Back in 2004, when this game was released, $100 billion was about $610 billion. That year, the U.S. national debt jumped up to around $7.4 trillion (this was the year of the Iraq war), which was roughly equal to the annual national deficit at the time. The game posits that $100 billion in 1964, when the U.S. national debt was around $310 billion and the annual deficit was around $6 billion, would have been enough to fund mass production of Shagohods; in the real world, that amount would not even pay off 1/3 of the U.S. national debt that existed in the year the game was released, it was still only 1/7th of the amount of that year's annual deficit spending amount. In the year the game was set, the Philosophers' Legacy was a bit more than 1/12 of the national debt, and even the annual deficit was about 12x more than the entire Philosophers' Legacy.
You just have to be a little closer to hold the enemy up but you did good. I never tried CQC in this game because it was too difficult for me and I hated being spotted, causing more enemies to come out. Also you got CQC down pretty good for a newbie 😊
looks like Volgin will say something differently depend on your medical history, last time I play this game,In the torture room he said:what a body you have, like a new born baby😅
Little fun extra fact about Raikov: The name "Raidenovich" is not only a nod to Raiden, but Kojima also intended it to sound like "Raiden no bitch" in Japanese, or "Raiden's bitch;" Raiden being the Japanese god of lightning, thunder, and storms, who in this game is represented by Volgin.
Maybe you weren't able to use the Revival Pill because you could only use it on the Game Over screen. However, if you wait too long on the Game Over screen, you won't be able to use it because you will be truly dead.
FiRsT! If you ever replay the game; when you're in the cell, the guard will give you food. Throw the food back out at him three times for a cutscene...
This isn`t relevant, but in that video where I saw the Fear for the first time, Vulgan said I know the major better than the major. Thought it was funny that`s all. It was one of those ytp video`s. Dialogue gets twisted in those on a regular bases often with helarious results.
Yeah, I really hate that Kojima made the code to the cell so obvious. I almost hope they remove that in Delta. I think you would have love seeing the origin story for Johnny. Also the Nightmare sequence is also amazing. I wonder if they'll include that in Delta.
I agree, it was too easy!! Funny idea with The Sorrow though, but just the frequency on the board would've been enough. I was so proud to catch that just to get it right in my face again by The Sorrow 😅 And it should do something other than just unlock the door, make it more complicated. Gotta work that jailbreak!
Fun fact: Raikov's sexuality probably had something to do with many male gamers' reaction to Raiden when MGS2 came out. At the time, one common complain was the impression that Raiden wasn't as "macho" as Solid Snake. That made sense, since Solid Snake's character design is inspired in 80s American action movie heroes, while Raiden's was inspired by Japanese androgynous beauty standards concerning men. In any case, it seems that making Raikov gay was a way of saying "you said he was gay, huh? So check this out". Unfortunately, that was also a time in which homophobia was very common in gaming, even more so than today.
i know you've finished, but nonlethally disabled enemies drop two items and dead enemies only drop one when you shake them down. think it was like that in two as well

@@ZekeDeLaMeme that is possible too. I tend to assume other reasons before jumping to the conclusion they were being a hater, but it is quite likely it was a derogatory comment. But since fairies and fae creatures can also shapeshift I figured that was another possibility as well
@@ZekeDeLaMeme I dont think the boss really cares about gay people or not
seriously, you have to perform the snake eater song in the final live session!!! i got goosebumps when you started singing the song in the underground! ;>
You're too kind thank you 🥰
Fr she hitting them notes!
I'm at minute 34 so maybe you find out later on, but they mislead you over the radio when they said the scientist outfit wouldn't work in the lab. It doesn't work to gain access to Sokolov, but you can freely roam around the lab with the coat on.
OK 4 minutes later, nevermind.
If you focus in 2:50:45 just below the R1 in right corner will notice someone standing in the shadows ( recommend watching the vid in slowmotion on TV because its not clear in mobile)
I noticed that too. It's hard to make it what (or who) that is.
I love all the "👁👄👁"
2:36:06
‘I’ve killed a lot of people with like, the neck 🔪’
‘I love this, this is great.’
HAHAHA when you put it like that 🤣
6:38 7:06 one of the best conversations of Sigint.
7:10 "ah hell no!"
7:14 that laugh
48:13 if you don't know what that "Acid" mean, this is another Metal Gear game called "Metal Gear Acid" and there's Metal Gear Acid 2 as well, both of them are for PSP only and Metal Gear Acid isn't canon.
53:44 58:46 59:22 1:50:57 2:07:21 her reaction tho
1:18:22 1:19:08 she got spoiled what's gonna happen to Snake
1:37:58 * a Hideo Kojima game *
1:40:06 1:44:44 1:45:40 1:50:50 this is going to be REALLY brutal in remake
1:42:32 I hope in remake they show what's happening there
1:43:45 the dialogue changes depending how much damage you took during the game
wow, didnt know that dialogue changes, I love how you just dont stop learning new stuff about this game
So a really neat Easter Egg is you can actually see The Sorrow's body at the beginning of the game after the Boss tosses you over the bridge.
It's a first person prompt that the game doesn't tell you about, and you can look to the side and see his skeleton.
Can’t wait for episode 9
The less people you kill, the shorter the boss battle, either way it's a pretty cool boss battle
Never thought the radio could be used that way.
I didn't know Raikov grabbed you like that, lol.
Hearing your laugh when the sorrow put his frequency up was so adorable
He's legit so goofy lmao I love it
@@WhimsyPsyche he’s also an easy cosplay. Theres always a few sorrows at Metal Gear conventions
1:50:51 your reaction is exactly what I felt 20 years ago !!!
Love watching you play this and enjoy it
MGS FAN 4 life
As terrifying as the Shagohod concept is, it is ultimately unrealistic and unpractical. Not only would the runway be demolished every time a missile would be launched, the acceleration of the Shagohod does NOT increase the missile's range.
You’ve got such a great face, seriously. Great expressions, great voice. Your channel is underrated as hell.
Just a note regarding Eva's lipstick
During the Cold War, female KGB agents were given lipstick devices that actually contained a basic gun mechanism with a single bullet, the 'Kiss Of Death', which could be used to kill someone from close range.
Actually Anya is short for Anna(which isnt even shorter just not formal) while Nastya is short for Anastasia
@@knightcommander5694 just like how Jack is 'short' for John, even though they both contain the same amount of letters and syllables lol
Oww, this cap, THIS CAP, this going better and better!
1) Lmao about Rikov personally invading your space and grabbing Snake Package, when I saw that when I was younger I was like wtf?? You were like what just happened!!! lmao You can technically open the locker where he is and then put him back in.
After beating on European Extreme I can say the escape part was MADE for European Extreme! Maybe the whole game was made for it, it just made sense.
Back when I was a child The Sorrow's "Boss Fight" was the single most confusing thing I have ever experienced. It was before I went back to MGS1 and fully understood what a "Kojima fake-out" meant.
Sorrow is the only boss you can't defeat....because he is already dead. Even i messed up the first time when "fighting" with him.
53:40 I am dying of laughter xDDDD
Volgin: Hey! You're not Raikov! Raikov was circumcised!
You just have to be a little closer to hold the enemy up but you did good. I never tried CQC in this game because it was too difficult for me and I hated being spotted, causing more enemies to come out. Also you got CQC down pretty good for a newbie 😊
So beautiful as always ❤️
So if you use first person view when snake is injured at the end of the Virtuous Mission you can see the bones of The Sorrow.
Don't forget to use your cardboard box when waiting for alert countdowns to finish 😊
The Sorrow, well he`s a special boss. I wonder if the sequence changes depending on how many enemies Snake does or doesn`t kill.
It’s funny they make fun of snake for being a little dumb. But he eventually becomes the legendary soldier, Big Boss
Love your voice Whimsy every time you say, “Heya! It’s me Whimsy”! love it!
Your conjectures are so good! Youre so smart. I have to say, you're pretty good!
looks like Volgin will say something differently depend on your medical history, last time I play this game,In the torture room he said:what a body you have, like a new born baby😅
I look forward to Sunday and Wednesday Metal Gear uploads 😊
Just as a fun fact, you can use the fake death pill to avoid the long river when going against the Sorrow.
Maybe you weren't able to use the Revival Pill because you could only use it on the Game Over screen. However, if you wait too long on the Game Over screen, you won't be able to use it because you will be truly dead.
Wow I never noticed that Eva was wearing a mask
Oui c'est un poster de Raiden ! Quand tu recois le masque au debut du jeu tu peux directement faire le lien avec raiden aussi
FiRsT!
If you ever replay the game; when you're in the cell, the guard will give you food. Throw the food back out at him three times for a cutscene...
8th 😭
LMAO Crotch grab reaction was the best!
So the funny thing about the sorrow fight is you can end it instantly but diving under and drowning. You can use the revival pill then.
what a thrill! ;>
1:02:20
Yes, it was a Raiden poster
Can open lockers that are locked by hitting them =P
Not sure if you know this, but there are 64 of those frogs in the game!
34:13 USE THE BOXXXXXXXXXXXXX LOL
i know you've finished, but nonlethally disabled enemies drop two items and dead enemies only drop one when you shake them down. think it was like that in two as well
1:26:25 Snake looks at the risque poster, immediately pulls out tissues 😂
