2:42:01 And it was at this point when me, as a young autistic person, realized and looking back on all their interactions throughout the game, that this man, too was on the spectrum. Honestly I'm so glad you're saying this, because I've been meaning to talk about how I personally feel like Snake is on the spectrum, or at the very least neurodivergent, which is so awesome because 1. It's represented quite well without it necessarily being the main focus, and 2. He's such a badass! But then I felt like it wasn't really my place to talk about this, and I didn't want to pose a 'diagnostic' like that. Anyways, hope I'm making sense 🤣 but I agree with you 100%
I get what you mean, both Solid and Naked snake seem kinda on the spectrum, but i personally believe both of them were conditioned to always have their head on the mission, that's all they ever known, and both of them start to grow away from that mindset as their stories go on, i think its more visible in Solid because you actually see him start to open up to people in mgs1. But i understand completely, that thing about not knowing how to read the room, just like autistic people, its not that Snake doesn't care or doesn't like Eva, its just that for him the logical response is his natural response, he's too used to not being emotional. EDIT: Sorry i just tought about this, Snake is an elite soldier, even here where he's a rookie, he's a rookie in terms of being an elite, he's really REALLY good at his job, but his kinda job ends up making you cynical to the point of sociopathy, or in this example make him seem kinda autistic. I'm not using sociopathy as something bad and of course i'm not comparing it to autism, but if you think about it doing what snake does takes some serious nerves of steel, and that comes with consecuences.
You've finished the game and you've probably realized by now, but if you didn't: Volgin revealing the location of the Legacy back in the torture room wasn't some old-school stereotypical villain moment. He did it on purpose: that was his way of luring the spy and finding out who it was. Eva listened and went for the Legacy and that's how she got captured.
Seeing you get the satisfaction of planting the C3’s stealthily is exactly what I hoped to see more of in this playthrough. There’s no shame in dying to start over. It’s much worse watching you reduced to just killing everyone.

You can procure beforehand, at the "Krasnogorje Mountain Top Base - Storage Room" near the food provision hut by a ZU-23 AA Gun.
Sushi did not become popular in the West until very recently, around the mid-1990s. Which was because lots of Japanese people started emigrating to the U.S. after the 1980s era Japanese economic boom (because they had money) and then the 1990s Lost Decade (because they had no money lol). No surprise Snake in 1964 has no idea what it is.

I watched a doc about Bruce Lee and they tell it that on that time people are looking for things like meditation and oriental philosophy as well
So glad this episode is already out. 1)Good job with all the headshots Whims very impressive! So in one of the lockers where you got the sneaking uniform, there’s also an engineer uniform you can use to walk freely around where the Shagohod is.
@@WhimsyPsycheafter you beat the game you unlock a demo theater with all the cutscenes. There's a section with bloopers! Would love to get your reaction to all of them!
@@anojahs29 from what we've seen I'm pretty sure Delta will be the exact same game, only with a fresh coat of paint / cosmetic improvements and better controls + crouch walking.
Also Whimsy, after you complete MGS3, YOU GOTTS PLAY Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Its absolutely incredible tying in MGS3: Snake Eater with MGS1 and MGS2: Sons of Liberty. YOU'LL 10/10 LOVE IT!!! -only thing is you need a PS3 and the MSG4 disc to play it - GOOD LUCK and looking forward to seeing you play the 4th Metal Gear Soon!
The thing about Major Tom being abducted by a UFO is I think a reference to Major Tom from Space Oddity, the David Bowie song (also the Major looks like David Bowie)
Sorry to say yes, you already had the RPG a long time ago 💔 since you finished from Volgin and started the Shagohod and you could have had it even before from one of the stores in the mountains before the Fury”

Hellow! Can't believe we're about to finish MGS3. Im looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the game. For many it's their favourite of the franchise, but it's more than ok to like others more. Having said that, we're very impressed with how you've handled the gameplay and on hard mode no-less. For a rookie you did well, Meryl would be proud to have your skills when she met Snake. We also hope that you will have the time to post a reaction to the "Metal Gear Solid 3: Secret Theater" which apparently isn't included in the collectors edition. I can already hear the MGS4 title song playing and man, are we excited to see you do some 'wet work'!
Snake: “Eva, I need you.” Eva: “Say that one more time.” Snake: “I need you. I can’t fly the WIG by myself.” “Reject modernity, embrace masculinity.” -Snake The Original Sigma Male
Whimsy 1) you taught me something NEW about the game I didn’t know you can shoot Volgin missiles down with the Scorpion. I always love how you find your own strategy quickly like going under the Shagohod and then shooting him never tried that either. 2) You can always see how kind and genuine your heart is ex. “Curing” Eva first before Snake and your reactions to other gameplay scenes like the Last of Us, there’s not many genuine good hearted people left in this world such as yourself 😊 glad to see that.
The scorpion thing is obvious. However it is impressive she discovered the non-lethal way by going under the shagohod on the first try. I didn't discover it before my third playthrough.
There is a parody of the same game within the same game, it is called "Metal Gear Solid 3: Secret Theater" there is a video on UA-cam that compiles all these moments. I recommend watching it after finishing the game, so you have a good time, it's very funny and shows that a great creator like Hideo Kojima also has the ability to not take himself so seriously and to laugh at himself!
I try as much as I can! But it's difficult because sometimes I just really want a detail oriented cosplay where it's basically exactly like in the game. When that's the case, sometimes I can't reuse that for something else 😭
I'm glad you discovered that the original camera turns cinematic during the chase! I reckon most players would just use the free camera and miss all that. I really love the camera work in the MGS games. Many cinematic games even today don't quite reach that imo. Also iirc, there was a maintenance uniform somewhere in the weapons lab that would've made the C3 stuff a cake walk, haha
There’s no doubt…. I love the fact that you acknowledge that Ocelot is getting shat on…. lol…. btw, this episode in particular reminded perfectly well the way I felt playing this for the first time!!!!!!!!! 2:13:59
So which of the series will you play after this? Perhaps MGS Peacewalker? Would be nice to see a Portable Ops but that could be difficult to set up. Also an Ocelot Cosplay would be so cool. Even though it'd be hard to re-use the clothing for general everyday use.
I love this part of the game so much. To hell with stealth and switching to action movie style with bullets and explosives. It is intense all the way through! Someone said a cardbox cosplay. I hope my wishes come true.
I forgot what an incredible cinematic experience the final act of this game is! Kojima is a Genius. Also, forgot what an ABSOLUTE BANGER MGS3 Main Theme is, when the Shagohod emerges from the Bridge. I am SO excited for Delta! Also, if you notice, Volgin gets hit by lightening the one time he doesn't say "Kuwabara, Kuwabara" when it rains :P (Kuwabara is the Japanese word for Mulberry Tree and there is a myth that lightening never strikes Mulberry, or something like that o.O)
Whimsy your analysis while playing these games is really really good. It’s a pity you never got to be a part of the MGS community in the periods before game releases. Analysing the game trailers before the releases was the most fun part. Sometimes even better than playing the games themselves.
@@gemini2195 I think she's plenty curious and tries things out that aren't out of left field like hitting lockers on a sneaking mission. This game was made to be played more than once, can't figure out all the things on the first playthrough...
The shagohod always just seemed like such a terrible design for a vehicle. Screw drive treads, literally dragging the back two thirds of the vehicle along the ground, it's got to be absolutely shredding the runway as it drives, not to mention it still has the same problems with rocket propelled vehicles in general - they just consume too much fuel to be used for more than a few minutes at best. Plus, 300 miles per hour is nothing compared to the boost provided by an actual first stage rocket
The sound you hear at 58:20 what you reacted on is your wounds heeling by them self’s! If you wait long enough, all your cuts and gunshot wounds heal :) check if you can see bullets lodged in the body when checking the x-ray in cure
1:32:20 Minor bugbear of mine, but someone should have caught Vogin's voice actor (the legendary Neil Ross) mispronouncing his own character's name as "VolJin". It's distracting, having him repeat his name back to Ocelot differently, when he's supposed be conveying annoyance at being addressed so informally by a disobedient subordinate.
@@WhimsyPsyche it'll do a little damage to the Shagohod but I can't remember if that damage carries over to the actual fight. It does help a lot against the motorcycles because you can take multiple out with one rocket. The downside to the RPG is the extremely slow reload but if you double tap R2 while you have it out, you'll unequip/equip it and it'll reload. So, you'll go from like a 10 second reload to half a second. Works with every weapon.
another fun watch, going the non-lethal route for the bosses, aside a possible trophy, which i cant remember if it is non-lethal for just the bosses or the entire game, it is just a fun challenge. the rewards are the same either way, with the exception of only 1 hostile. which i do remember is such a pain in azz to go non-lethal, but 100% worth it. looking forward to the next one!
Great performance on Vol'gin, it's isn't the hardest fight in the game but his set of moves is so varied, it's one of the funniest fight in the serie I think. And he can tank a bit which is good since he's such a punchable Vilain.
Imagine you intend to play a run with 0 soldier killed + shoot all the kerotan plastic frogs , during the motocycle there are 2 or 3 of them to shoot 😅 That sequence is a nightmare to accomplish 😅
I trully love the escape it's so cinematic and cool, especially when Ocelot chased you ! By the way will you someday make a video react of the secret Konami theater?
Whimsy you really be seeing into the mind of Kojima and his ahem, "artistic direction" 😂 If you want to know more you need look no further than the mo-cap actor from MGSV having a "feet mo-cap" session. Kojima really be one of a kind lol
For the Shagohod chase I recommend switching to the old pre-set camera angles since they're more cinematic. Edit: oops she changed it at the end :p In the original PS2 release of MGS3 that was the only possible camera option actually. It didn't have the behind-the-back camera at all. But it didn't take them long to release the full-price PS2 "Snake Eater" edition that added the camera option. It's the edition this re-release is based on. I was one of the suckers who bought both editions, but the new camera made your life so much easier during normal gameplay...

So glad this episode is already out. 1)Good job with all the headshots Whims very impressive! So in one of the lockers where you got the sneaking uniform, there’s also an engineer uniform you can use to walk freely around where the Shagohod is.
No waaay that would've made my life so much easier lmaooo
@@WhimsyPsyche I know sorry, maybe next time lol or maybe for Delta if they keep some things the same or similar.
Your headshots are really on point, Whimsy! Very satisfying to watch.
Aaah thank you so much, they felt so good to do 🤣
The thing about Major Tom being abducted by a UFO is I think a reference to Major Tom from Space Oddity, the David Bowie song (also the Major looks like David Bowie)
I think it's also a reference to MGS2 where colonel mentions something like that when he starts rambling nonsense.
Your face when the shagahod survived the bridge collapse xD hahahaha. Always nice to see a new MGS fan !
oh man seeing you playing with all the action reminded me the old good days thanks whimsy love from Dubai
1:17:54 the face she makes at Ocelot’s antics has me rolling lol
The finale to this game is probably my favorite ending of all time
Sorry to say yes, you already had the RPG a long time ago 💔
since you finished from Volgin and started the Shagohod
and you could have had it even before from one of the stores in the mountains before the Fury”
Solid snake is an extrovert, but dad snake is an introvert
8:35 - His name is now officially 'Horny Hideo'.🥵
Note: That being said Whimsy, feel free to cosplay as EVA in her waterfall bikini.👀
. . . that or cosplay The End with a plastic parrot glued to your head.🦜
You're wishing for two opposites ends lmao 🤣🤣
Yooo!!!😂
You got strange tastes, my dude XD
Snake: “Eva, I need you.”
Eva: “Say that one more time.”
Snake: “I need you. I can’t fly the WIG by myself.”
“Reject modernity, embrace masculinity.”
-Snake The Original Sigma Male
I’m just gonna say this without confirming or denying anything, but you are *so* smart it’s so satisfying to see you figure things out in the plot ^v^
Totally agree, I can't wait to see her trying to solve mgs4
1:17:47 "wait, while I twirl my guns around for a bit" he's such a child lol
Thanks for the performance of the song, now I can die happy! ;D
Aww thank you so much, that's very kind 🥰
Is there even a reward for beating the Shagohod non lethally? 😭
@@WhimsyPsyche not that I know of No, I don’t think you can since it doesn’t have a stamina gage.
Oh I meant the Volgin shagohod mix, he does have that stamina gauge. I wonder...
@@WhimsyPsyche no there is no reward for that. Good job by the way.
The Whimsy voice is 🔥 you need to sing the song in the game ending, that will be the perfect ending.
can't wait to see you play "The PEACE WALKER incident"😁
the use of cig spray on volgin is a funny and interesting tactic
2:41:51
On of the best lines in the game:
Snake: “I can’t fly the WIG by myself.” Snake makes two ladies laugh. lol
I would love to have a wardrobe full of "cosplay outfits" that double as my actual wear. That's so smart!
Happy MGS day y’all! I am getting SO PUMPED for MGS4GOTP
it will be a banger, all the plot twists for her to digest
@@Yebacheck I’m super excited lol
Whimsy you never fail to amaze & always bring the joyful enthusiasm to every playthrough you play thank you & i sending you The chef's kiss 💖🌻🐝🌻🐝🙏
There’s no doubt…. I love the fact that you acknowledge that Ocelot is getting shat on…. lol…. btw, this episode in particular reminded perfectly well the way I felt playing this for the first time!!!!!!!!! 2:13:59
Hahah I'm so glad!!
as an og fan i still get goosebumps hearing that song.
So which of the series will you play after this? Perhaps MGS Peacewalker? Would be nice to see a Portable Ops but that could be difficult to set up.
Also an Ocelot Cosplay would be so cool. Even though it'd be hard to re-use the clothing for general everyday use.
2:39:48 I remember telling my self that this should've been part of a Twix commercial "need a moment? Chew it over with Twix"
I love this part of the game so much. To hell with stealth and switching to action movie style with bullets and explosives. It is intense all the way through!
Someone said a cardbox cosplay. I hope my wishes come true.
looking forward for Friday! I'm gonna loot up with popcorn and beer :))
So glad you pressed R3 for the motorcycle chase, makes it much more cinematic!
Late viewer here, but watching you takedown throw Volgin and then proceed to Vape in his face is the most hilarious way ive seen someone fight this
you have to break the doors of locker rooms that don't open with grenades, you missed uniforms and objects....
Yeah, she plays like it's her first playthrough... oh wait, IT IS!
@@GamePaddyPat You have to be curious in this game...
@@gemini2195 I think she's plenty curious and tries things out that aren't out of left field like hitting lockers on a sneaking mission. This game was made to be played more than once, can't figure out all the things on the first playthrough...
@@GamePaddyPat right.
The back actually hovers a bit above the ground utilizing the ground effect. The screw treads though...that's gotta be bad for the pavement lol
The sound you hear at 58:20 what you reacted on is your wounds heeling by them self’s! If you wait long enough, all your cuts and gunshot wounds heal :) check if you can see bullets lodged in the body when checking the x-ray in cure
Been looking forward to this, keep it up! Can't wait for the next episode
23:29 That sequence of headshots tho 🙀
1:32:20 Minor bugbear of mine, but someone should have caught Vogin's voice actor (the legendary Neil Ross) mispronouncing his own character's name as "VolJin". It's distracting, having him repeat his name back to Ocelot differently, when he's supposed be conveying annoyance at being addressed so informally by a disobedient subordinate.
Yeah, that one always bugged me, too.
Yeah that one is odd, heh.
Has unlimited ammo during motorcycle sequence...doesn't equip RPG...
I honestly had not seen I had it!! 🤣 Would it have helped that much? I feel like for the motorcycles following you it's better to use a gun no?
I really hopping to see Whimsy react to Ocelot camo (leopard dots) in a extra or something.
1:47:42 actually you can shoot him anytime. Just have to be from the sides or the back.
Great performance on Vol'gin, it's isn't the hardest fight in the game but his set of moves is so varied, it's one of the funniest fight in the serie I think.
And he can tank a bit which is good since he's such a punchable Vilain.
Imagine you intend to play a run with 0 soldier killed + shoot all the kerotan plastic frogs , during the motocycle there are 2 or 3 of them to shoot 😅
That sequence is a nightmare to accomplish 😅
11:03 Wow, Eva's Superman Disguise really works! Ngl
Throwing a frog at Volgin frraks him out as well. I did NOT KNOW you could donthe same with Raikov's mask, too 😅
Whims really didn’t entire chase sequences without using the rpg! Boss!!! Haha
Should we tell her about the quick reload?
Haha I find out about it in this very video with the RPG!
8:50 Sushi is old.
It’s new for them. They have never eaten it.
I hope you dress as Sigint for the final episode cosplay
What an amazing game, I enjoyed it so much as a child ... 😢
I trully love the escape it's so cinematic and cool, especially when Ocelot chased you ! By the way will you someday make a video react of the secret Konami theater?
Eva gives you the rpg-7 at the beginning of the motorcycle section
Whimsy you really be seeing into the mind of Kojima and his ahem, "artistic direction" 😂
If you want to know more you need look no further than the mo-cap actor from MGSV having a "feet mo-cap" session.
Ok, I need a cover of this stat!! As a singer myself, that’s not bad at all!! Please do a cover!!!
It's going to be Eva!!!! Or, you could throw us a curve ball and do Ocelot! LMAOO!!
