- When I’m jetting off on a city break, I know I have a packing challenge ahead of me. It’s all about creating a capsule wardrobe of versatile pieces that I can mix and match for whatever occasion may arise, from sight-seeing to relaxing by the pool to evening drinks. For me, that means choosing complementary tones and taking a few handy items - like safety pins and hair-ties - that I can use to switch up my silhouette in an instant. Although I am usually a notorious over-packer, I think I might have cracked the hand-luggage code with this one…

As much as I love every Closet Confession that was one of my favourites. The ideas, practicality and simplicity was just amazing. Firstly, I want the tonic she has just taken, she seems giddy, full of life and looks younger than her last video. Secondly what a lovely set of clothes, the first dress was 👌🏻then the next outfit 😊 , superb.
Perfect way to play around what we bring on a light luggage: more outfits carrying less is what we all wanted. I feel that choice of blue apart from brightening our skin is timeless and ageless with a curled hair 🤗👏

Have you heard of the 'TopTote' hat clip? Would make it easier to just clip it to the outside of your bag when you can't wear on your head (like going through airport security).
Another vote for doing a modest wardrobe (capsule), please - could be useful for travel but also dealing with freezing airport AC!
The grey and blue long dress (day one) is perfect. I wish clothing designers went down this road more with dresses. I am not one for florals or too much pattern and these are perfect for day or night, if they made more like this I would have a dress collection, but sadly a lot of dresses are just too much. Too fussy and not easily dressed down.
Trinny, maybe it's time for a Zara shop up? I would love to "go shopping with you"

Could always do with more 🌞hat options. 👒 Realised recently that most of my wide brim hats looked 💒church/garden wedding💍 &/or beachy 🏖. Would love an elegant resort option that could be worn from seaside to a city setting 🏙 for a lunch or museum date.

@Gill Perkins You probably know all the good tips. But if not - there's a blonde, American lady with a YT channel. Her schtick is that she's married to a pilot, and travels frequently with him. BUT - they both can only take carry-on board luggage. She makes quite a few videos about how to travel with carry-on only. The bag weight and size allowances are more generous on US airlines. But you may pick up some ideas if you can find her. /If I was dressing you - I'd have you fly wearing say a stretch flared pant, dark jean or cargo pant. With a cotton knit or shirt, perhaps a light puffer liner vest or denim jacket, and even a trench coat which you can take off when you board. On your feet are trainers for walking or a comfortable boot. The idea of course being to WEAR as many of your heavy weight garments as you can stand! What you wear does not count towards your baggage allowance. (The Americans are full-on about this 😄. They can buy or make a special travel vest that has so many zip pockets to store toiletries, tech, clothing, socks and underwear - that they can board wearing an extra 5-7 kg!) Once you're aboard you can undress a little, or rearrange your bag. /Your one 'Personal Item of Luggage to stow under the seat' could be a small backpack. You could have some toiletries, tech, and maybe a bulky puffer jacket, knitwear and jeans packed inside that. /The bag/s you would use for daily sightseeing may actually be packed inside your cabin bag. /Oohh 😮 I just remembered. I've seen some helpful tips about thieves and scammers in Italy, and how best to protect yourself. I don't wish to alarm you - but it may help to have some understanding of how scammers and thieves target tourists so successfully. /Have fun preparing - it sounds a really lovely trip. (Jealous ✈🍝🍕)

@@JamJarGill I'm not a subscriber because her videos are often a bit too long, and I can only take her accent in small doses. But I like her upbeat personality! and she's closer to my age. She reviewed an excellent backpack for travel in the last one I watched. From memory she has over 50k subscribers. Perhaps try searching 'Travel with Carry On Luggage Only + pilots wife + US'. /There's all kinds of UA-camrs making Travel Light video tutorials. Believe me when I say, you can spend hours of your life watching other people pack!! I've learned to avoid the younger ones, because packing three bikinis, a sarong, and two pairs of micro-shorts is not realistic for my lifestyle 😂. Good luck - I hope she pops up. She always travels with a curling iron because of her fine, flat blonde hair. /As for the other, maybe search 'Tourist Safety Tips Rome'. And, as Trinny repeats in her video here - Yes to packing footwear for lots of walking, standing, steps and cobblestone streets!!! Have fun 🍀
