Anything before the 1980's was just too soft, too slow and too calm to be considered Heavy Metal music LoL
2000's metalcore was sick but we still have most bands from this period like BFMV or Trivium so it's good to have these djentcore bands. I still remember chilling in my room in 2006 at the age of 15 years, jamming to amazing Rock bands I just discovered that day by accident...
literally my entire life changed from that day on, I was obsessed with it for years to come
Personally I like the modern 2000+ music more, it has more complex structure, it's deeper and more diverse, with more emotional range and more vocal range and can be a lot more energetic and intensive than compared to the older stuff from the pre-90's
There are so many new sub-genres today that didn't even exist before the 90's (Grunge, Post-Grunge, Nu-Metal, Symphonic Metal, Metalcore, Post-Hardcore, Pop Punk) these are all my most favorite sub-genres, which is probably the reason why I'm not so much interested into the 80's music because it was missing the genres I like the most today
Metal in 2004:
Lars: "Imma use my cooking pans in my drums instead"
That Loathe t-shirt tho
Best band ever 🗣️🗣️
Yeah i looked away and heard just one fucking rad song that i thought just got "more"... beginning is so rugged and jagged, fucking awesome, and then we went straight to my crazy brain side and i was like, "TURN IT THE FUCK UP YEAHHH!!!"
All that remains vs. Dreamwake
Love em both so much, and excited to hear what metal in 2044 sounds like
04 riffs make me wanna play more 🎸🤘
I am so happy that I stuck in the past when it comes to music, doesnt matter the genre.
2004 all day.
Y'know, I love both lol
I would like more bands to sorta "bring back" some trends and stuff cause not gonna lie, I feel like bands start to sound pretty much the same beyond just "oh but we play the same genre of music"
The 2004 riffs kinda remind me of old Miss May I.
I actually Like both very much, many great Bands are established today, Like Electric Callboy or Solence
I prefer 2004 metal over this over exaggerated 2024 crap
Well that's just like your opinion man
2024 is something different that went past metal. Metal is still a relatively new genre so it has so much room to evolve
@@bigdane8828metal is almost 60 years old.
@@eternalfaeri1415 okay maybe not new but metal has been evolved into becoming what it is today
@@eternalfaeri1415 then again the "Metal bands" from the 1960's is hardly the same as modern Metal today, it's almost like a completely different sub-genre now entirely.
The "classic" Metal bands from the 70's sound more like generic Rock bands for modern standards; simple and easy Rock riffs, simple structure, simple drumming patterns (nothing too crazy or exessive like today)
Thrash Metal and Death Metal in the 1980's was the first real thing that can be recognized as actually "Heavy Metal" music, with lots of excessive drumming (blasting beats) using double-kick bass drums and more aggressive style overall.
Anything before the 1980's was just too soft, too slow and too calm to be considered Heavy Metal music LoL
A full version of the 2024 one would fix so many of my problems
Skill vs technology
this riff from 2004 reminds me of All That Remains, powerful and intense
NIKKKK I BEG THAT U DO A HOW TO PERIPHERY PLEEEEASE
FOR REAL
That's easy!! Have Misha Mansor Write Record and Produce the songs and then teach it to the rest of the band!
@@thomaslarson438 lmaooo that is so true
listening to early 2000 Dream Theater makes me so nostalgic
2004: let’s just make a bunch of breakdowns
2024: let’s actually make a bunch of breakdowns
2024: but we do them in strange timings
"Let's just make a bunch of breakdowns."
-yeah you did that bro 2004.
2004 will always be the best nice and simple and melodic. Beautiful
It’s good to see that metal musicians are finally hydrating in 2024.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
2000's metalcore was sick but we still have most bands from this period like BFMV or Trivium so it's good to have these djentcore bands. Some of bands sound the same but bands like Spiritbox with adding pop influences makes this genre more interesting. Even bands like Within Temptation or Evanescence added some modern metalcore elements on last albums.
What's the first song? I adore it
and the second one?
Definitely sounds like in flames
Bring back the 00’s! Of course there’s some incredible stuff out there now but that 00’s era 🤌🏼🤌🏼
5-7-8 kids where you at
Skillet has entered the chat
@@wishuhadmynamethat's the first band that comes to mind when you think of 578? 😂
Me!!!!
@@Blight_6 as I lay dying
I hit the Killswitch when I drove down parkway drive and got hit by a bullet meant for my valentine, then I wondered what all that remains as I lay dying
For sure brother. Any metal is good
This only happens with deathcore/metalcore
They both sound awesome and some 2024 tunes have them both like Invicible by Revnoir.
I can feel that NFSMW vibes in the 2004 metal ❤
Back when NFS and games in general had awesome soundtracks
The good thing is music doesnt have an expiration date and its always there when you want it.
Although some bands do it really well like Imminence, Grayscale Season, Humanitys Last Breath, Allt, Thornhill, for example
We want full metal 2024 song Nik!
and we still love both of them
I love 1980 metal
Love both with all my heart
70s and 80s metal is the best
🥱😪😴
Metal didn't even exist in the 70s
It wa just generic rock (just generic stander E rock riffs and slow paced Rock drumming and soft rock vocals)
heavy metal only started to exist in the 80s with the arise of Thrash Metal and death metal which had a very aggressive and heavy sound for the first time in music history, which actually made it very different from all the generic rock bands before
@@RockandMetal-u9x judas priest?
I was born in 05 and will forever love the 04 style metal
2004 and Drop C. Best metal. Modern metal can be good, but is largely bland.
Some bullet for my valentine type chords for 2004
Metal 1984 >
Ok drop e boomer
@@TF_ARCHIVES Drop e literally didn't even exist in the 80s, you probably meant Standard E 😂
2004: headbang
2024: party
2004 is better
For real tho those 2 riffs went together like a freakin glove
Ahhh so that's why metal isn't popular anymore
Literally more popular than ever.
@@tmw3489 Not modern metal though
