My advice for lay out is have a few beers and just stand there and look it everyday for a week and draw everything down, also build in a rod box so you don't have rods sticking up in your way and getting caught on mangrove (im guessing you know what i mean 😅) and last but not least
B ust
O ut
A nother
T housand 😂
That would have to be the best idea. 😂 definitely need a rod box or something to eliminate having rods taken out on trees.
@@BrisVegasFishing yeah man so much better, i have an old tender from Brisbane micat i decked it with aluminium frame and ply and carpet all on the cheap, casting deck up front, fuel tank underneath that, and made the rod box along the gunnel with a hinged lid strong enough to stand on with a long plug in anchor light (because i hate anchor light in my face) clipped underneath lid, hinged 5/8 floor where i stow click together oars and whatever else and side compartments for tackle, life jackets blah blah, built in box for a live tank that i never put a tank in🙄, the thing is only 3.7 but theres plenty of room for 2 or even 3 but i prefer just me lol, got all the aluminium sections from capral aluminium at kunda park was very cheap at the time 10 years ago bummings had FA and total rip off, all the framework was put together with sika and 316 ss rivets very very stong 👍
At last....... this boat is how I found you 12 months ago. Crabbing and fishing the past year has been a bonus :)
Haha thanks mate. Apologies for not starting the project sooner 😂 I’m pumped to get into it now
You will hate fibreglassing as much as I do by the time you’re finished. Good luck with it, look forward to seeing the results.
😂😂 I probably will aye. I’m feeling way too optimistic and fresh at the moment.
Nice mate, keen to see the finished product in the future!! Always interesting watching the process of a boat rebuild, it’s definitely something I want to do myself one day 👌🎣
I’m definitely more of a fan watching it as opposed to be the person physically doing it 😂
@@BrisVegasFishing Yeah you quickly realise how long it all takes and how many obstacles you have to overcome 😂
New name has to be “Hey Charger” in honour of the old white outboard. What a collectors item that is.
Love the idea. 👌😂 definitely need to pay homage to it.
been looking at this one on market place for weeks, nice one! My mistake it was a different one. good one anyhow
😂😂😂 if I get sick of it that’s where it might end up 😉
Goodluck mate! And hope you have a decent bank! Haha keen to see if it' breaks you or if you get it up to where you want!! Yew!!
Haha cheers mates. It’s definitely gonna be testing 😂
Keen too see the build , I have one set up as a skiff atm, very impressed with the hull.

Thanks mate. I’m really happy with the condition of it, there is one small hole they’ve patched up in the past. But other than that it’s in great shape.
Great start buddy. Keep it up . Cheers
Thanks mate. Really hoping I can keep up with it 😂
Awsome video mate
Cant wait to see whats next
Glad to hear it mate 🤙
Hey mate , looking forward to watcthing this series of episodes.
I recently aquired an old bondwood runabout and was considering modifying it into an open fishing boat like yours with the 70 tiller.
Just weiging up if it’s going to be worth it.
The hull and transom are solid / no rot.
Just wondering if it’s a headache to repower in regards to compliance / build plate etc.
Would be interested in your thoughts.
Ps really enjoy all your videos .
Cheers
Good to hear mate. Appreciate the support.
I’ve got so many plans and ideas for it.
If the hull and transom are good sounds like a load off 😅 is it already compliance plated?
Good to set the old refrigerator off the back of the boat
😂😂 love it. I can’t wait to get a fresh outboard to replace it.
@@BrisVegasFishing What motor are you planning to get?
@@davidlove7825 looking at going Yamaha again. Maybe a 115 or 130hp
Yes it had an old 60 hp Johnson 2 smoker .
Did you fit the Yamaha 70 tiller on your other boat yourself from new or was it off another boat.
How do you find the Yamaha and will you do the same to this boat ie tiller setup?
Thanks Josh appreciate your videos
We had Sunshine Coast Yamaha fit it for us back in 2017. I’ve put over 500 hours on it since then, love the reliability of it and we just like the responsiveness of having the tiller arm. But I’d say we will go with forward controls and put a 115 or even 130 on the back 👌
Love your content.
Thanks mate 🙏🏻
@@BrisVegasFishing keep it up a good mix of humour, education and most importantly catching fish/crab. The boat rebuild promises to be interesting.
Raise the transom and pod the engine.....
Read my mind there mate 😂👌
First comment again wow... lotto ticket time
Haha I’ll take a share on that 😉😂
