Thanks for having me again! I couldn't stop laughing at the animation! This video kicks [PG term for Gluteus]! Can't wait to come back...hahajk....unlesss? 👀👀👀
Honestly, I really like your take on Bomberman vs Dig Dug. I never thought about how it translates to season 1's simplicity so well and how it wouldn't be done better in any other season. That's a genuinely interesting point.
Storytime: I was once hanging out with someone I had a crush on at the time, and at one point we brought up fictional series that we were fond of. I decided to take a risk, and ask if they heard about Death Battle. Their response was “wasn’t that the show that made Justin Bieber fight Rebecca Black?” …a fact I regretfully had to confirm. Our conversation went from gushing about stuff we loved to instead them going on a tangent about how vitriolic media treats young celebrities, and at that point I had never been more ashamed of the show. Yeah, I’m glad they moved past these kind of episodes, and I revel in every opportunity to join the modern fanbase in thrashing this episode at every turn
Indeed, everytime I decided to binge the old fights, anytime I reach the mistake, I just switch to Death Battle Merch vs Your Wallet, a legendary piece in comparisson.
The Michelangelo segment in that death battle episode, is the main reason why I went the opposite direction with my rundown on Mikey on my series. Instead building him up has not some kind of random goofball to laugh at, but instead of this wild card that is so unpredictable and unorthodox that he's actually probably won't the strongest turtles on the team by proxy.
One day, when Death Battle closes its doors for good, and the community comes together to rank all episodes ever made, we can rest asure knowing, what will be at absolute rock bottom.
Holy heck Goomba VS Koopa was also my first episode- I had massive brainrot over Nintendo and Mario stuff, I used to watch TONS of animation videos on it, especially like Lego ones. I simply saw the thumbnail and thought 'eh, why not' and just like that I was hooked. Great video by the way.
I started watching Death Battle right around when Eggman vs. Wily was getting made and hyped up. My first episode ever was, oddly, Goomba vs. Koopa, which made the DBX all the more special for me. Season 1 will always hold that special place in my heart. Also let it be known that I remember the hellish waiting period for Goku vs. Superman. I WILL NOT FORGET.
What a charming review of the season that started it all for Death Battle. Looking forward to the journey through future review videos on all the seasons
It's so good seeing you talking about all 24 episodes of Season 1 again. All 24, not 25. There is no 14th episode, it just goes 13 then 15. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.
This was a amazing start to the remakes hopefully you do the others! Also Robot Richie killed it with that animation loved how you didn't even talk about the mistake and killed it as quick as possible
As addressed in one thing or another (I forget if they covered it in the Q&A Video or not) And ultimately has been confirmed in the case of fighters for whom Death is merely an inconvenience they could bounce back from like one would a punch to the face? Starscream still lived technically, but the most advanced thing he could take over in EQUESTRIA would be a....Sewing Machine. Which cannot fight at all. And foes who have that ability to bounce back from death actually would have something of a timer, like if their restoration/regen/resurrection takes too long to reach, the fight is called there. (See Discord vs Bill Cipher) So even if Starscream ran all the way back to a place where he COULD get a body, it'd take so long that the fight would be called there.
Ahhh, the video that I watched when I found your channel. Nostalgia points all around, shows how much this has improved, lot's of luck! This is gonna be great!
To give Harry Potter vs Luke Skywalker the only credit. They are the only episode that I can think of at the moment where there rules on “removing the characters moral compass” actually applies. Because in this, Harry knows he has a one shot move and goes for it everytime
This video was such a nostalgia trip for me. I remember binging season one when I was way too young too (which made it very embarrassing when my dad walked in on me watching Kratos vs Spawn just as Broomstick was making a joke about Aphrodite). Being very sheltered myself I actually liked the analysis more than the fights as it was basically a crash course in pop culture for me. I can count on one hand the number of episodes where I actually knew both characters (Batman vs Spider-Man, Goomba vs Koopa, the TMNT Battle Royale, and Luke Skywalker vs Harry Potter). Half the time I didn't know either character but it was still fun. For reasons I can't remember my favorite episode was Starscream vs Rainbow Dash (despite not being a fan of either Transformers or My Little Pony at the time).
That's interesting. I always thought starscream shared a voice actor with the laughing coffin fanboy from SAO abridged whose name I can't spell(it's pronounced something like kuradeal but idk). Seriously, aside from starscream's voice filter they sound near identical. Also, I'm never gonna unhear that rainbow dash's VA is also Diane from The Seven Deadly Sins.
Eggman vs Wily was the first Death Battle I remember being super excited for, to the point where I made a playlist of every preview that came out revealing the minions. Meanwhile, Blanka vs Pikachu was probably the only Death Battle that got me angry because I was more familiar with Pokemon and that led me to believe that Pikachu would win.
Death Battle did Harry Potter so fuckin dirty 💀 I refuse to believe Harry would just spam the Killing Curse over and over like a COD player, or that Luke wouldn't react to being badly slashed across the chest
I wonder if the community likes the new Goku vs Superman more than the original. Can someone more versed in the community tell me how the community feels about it. I sure know I prefer the 3rd Goku vs Superman, but I wasn’t in the community for the first time
There's a few things I want to get off my chest about this season. 1. Vegeta VS Shadow was my first episode and I had zero knowledge of Team Four Star at the time. 2. I was a huge Dragon Ball fanboy back then, so I was extremely angry that Goku lost to Superman, but I've matured since then. 3. I also used to like Justin Bieber VS Rebecca Black when it came out, but I obviously don't feel that way anymore because I grew up. 4. Carrick choosing to ignore Death Battle VS The World and ignoring that Rouge VS Wonder Woman is the first Marvel VS DC match is incredibly based.
For whatever reason Bieber VS Black scared me as a kid, I have no idea why but I almost got nightmares from the deaths. So as a result I thought the episode sucked even when I was younger...yea-
55:57 holy shit, someone finally says it!!! Like i know the fight is a representation of the research and all but still annoying when people use it as part of the abalysis in of itself instead of an add on of sorts
As bad as Luke vs Harry is I still have a soft spot for it as it was the very first episode I watched in 2013 or 14 I think. BTW I was like 8 or 9 back then
I can see your point on goku vs superman 1. Even though(in my opinion) Goku vs Superman 3 is a better episode in just about every way, the legacy and initial hype will never be the same. When the third one was announced everyone(including me) was disappointed until the episode released.
Like he explained in a previous episode. Because he's remaking videos before wade was on the show he won't be in the remakes that happened before he showed up
I’ll admit there are some good ones like snake vs Sam or Wolverine vs raiden (I thinks that’s how you spell it) and Deadpool vs deathstroke isn’t that bad but I’m saying most of the battles in that Season aren’t memorable or good i’m saying it could be better (also, what am I saying he already did A season 2 review in 10 words what is wrong with me)
@@jasonweiden9167 Season 2 is very hit or miss i'll admit, but that's kinda expected. Not only is it the biggest season by far, but it this was when the series didn't really have a proper scedule yet so episodes would vary heavilly in lenght and quality. It's still my favorite season pre season 6 tho, the peaks just elevate it enough for me to like it more then seasons 1 and 3-5.

Nate’s reaction to “the mistake” should be every reasonable human being’s reaction
Totally warranted. Wish it was covered but the original still covers it so as long as it’s up I’m fine.
