Nice video but personally I would have done better because I have a strong sense of empathy no offence since it’s just my opinion and opinions don’t matter.
They should make a Netflix style mockumentary for Total Drama where all the former contestants talk about their lives being changed by the show for the worse and call it _Total Trauma Island._
Honestly, Lindsay egged on three people just to make sure she got herself eliminated. She already said back in Island that if she knew there was a resort for the losers, she'd have lost in the first episode. In All-Stars she keeps her word and gets herself eliminated on purpose just to enjoy the loser privileges.
For lindsay, it was confirmed that she voted herself off because she didn't want to be there. This is backed up by the fact that earlier in the episode she says "I forgot how hard this game is, no amount of lip gloss is worth this!" She was actively throwing to get herself eliminated.
"I can't put her next to Cody, that seems cruel*." Followed by "Here, she can hang out with brick. They can do make up together." Is both hilarious and weirdly wholesome.
"He's too dumb to care" Nah, Lightning is a champion for not falling for Heather's crying game. It was so satisfying watching him tackle her for that million dollar case. My boy said "you're crazy" 🤣
OCD is an anxiety disorder and the idea is its characterized by distracting, attention-consuming thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors that are performed to relieve said anxiety (compulsions). If anything, trent's behavior is a much more accurate portrayal of the condition than the stereotypical neat freak behavior.
yep, I can confirm. the thing about OCD is the symptoms besides the stereotypical ones are just not talked about, and I don't know for sure but I want to say that OCD can start to appear later in life

Analysis on how samey would be affected: Her life at home would've become even worse. It's already clear that her parents favour Amy more than her to the point they probably neglect her. So paired that with the stunt she did on live television, her title as the "evil sister" would destroy any possible futures she would ever have and even make the abuse from her parents and her sister and those around her worse. So you can probably tell she's gonna be affected horribly mentally and physically. I'm just hoping she enters the Foster care system cause that's the only hope for her. Don't forget that she's just a teen who decided to stand up for herself so after the show she'll probably let others do anything to her now cause of the fear of being shamed for her actions
My theory about Mike is that his trauma was being put in juvenile detention for something he didn’t do, and Mal was the first personality he developed in order to survive in prison.
@@CalliopesigilThat actually isn't true. DID is most commonly formed in early childhood but there is actually no specific cut off age for its development. The 7-9 age range thing comes from the theory of structural dissociation, with has been scrutinized, called into question multiple times, and is largely considered outdated. Because DID just isn't that simple or straightforward
@@Calliopesigilyou can end up developing alters later on though so maybe he had something bad happen during childhood but the alters didn't fully flesh out till later?
@@sacchicaroDID is formed because of the failure to properly integrate one’s personality in a child, it is something you initially develop before… i believe eight is the rough ‘cut-off’? and from ages nine to twelve you’re more likely to end up developing OSDD-1
For real, the "TDI is hell and Chris is Satan himself" theory isn't as far fetched considering the years worth of therapy a lot of the contestants need after the show.
I low-key agree with that given what these characters have been through and yet they can't die and escape it given all the injuries and what not from the show should kill them debatably.
As funny as I find Chris McLean in the show, I would certainly be livid and disgusted by him if he was real. Essentially, Total Drama in real life would be played out as a death camp.
Especially considering that the prize Chris is offering is money. In the series between the first and second seasons, everyone was only concerned about money, and in the first episode of the second season, Beth said: “Admit it, money is the only reason we put up with Chris.” At the end of season five there were three couples and it looked like everyone had found love, and it looked like Chris was supposed to be the "final boss" rather than a contestant's opponent, but as soon as Chris mentioned money, everyone came back to competition (to be honest, I don’t really like this). It is not for nothing that the Bible says: “(First Timothy 6:10) For the love of money is the root of all evil, to which some have abandoned the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” And in one Soviet cartoon it was sung like this: “It’s all about money, money, all the evil comes from it, I wouldn’t see it again for a lifetime.”
Fun fact: Scott's Trauma Chair was a reference to the character Captain Pike from the original Star Trek! He's a ship captain that, having sustained physical and mental deformities, is bound to a mechanical chair where he can only respond with beeps. Still doesn't make Scott's treatment any less morbid, though
I watched that Star Trek episode recently and it made me deeply uncomfortable and I couldn't figure out why. When he showed Scott in the Trauma Chair I realised I prpbably repressed the heck outta that memory.
@@maxwellmarques1607 Agreed, it's a very viscerally disturbing punishment for a character to have to endure. I've always thought Scott's punishment was WAY worse than he deserved, honestly, and it's way creepier than I'd imagine even the writers intended.
Captain Pike was actually the captain in the very original Star Trek pilot! The more you know! I guess the creators then wanted to reference him in some way despite switching to a different captain, so brought him back as someone who preceded Kirk but was put into a debilitating state.
Personally I also found pretty disturbing the fact that everyone was just laughing at his misery... and omg the scene where he shed a tear because no one was caring about him (or something similar i cant recall): that scene still haunts me as an adult
I'm glad you adressed the issue of Chris McLain having sexual intercourse with his pet plant. I rarely see people talking about it but you had the guts to adress it. You have my eternal respect.
Back to the hypnosis thing, remember when Izzy did the Dance Of The Rattlesnake? Prior to this, Owen didn't even notice Izzy, but afterword they were basically a couple. So maybe Alejandro isn't the only one who hypnotized Owen after all.
Asides from the contestants I think another person who was severely impacted by the show was Chris. There’s a huge contrast between season 1 Chris and reboot Chris. In the first season he’s not ‘abusive’ and more of just a bully. As the seasons went on and grew even more popular he was sucked in by the fame. He would do anything for ratings, no matter whose lives he was putting at risk. I don’t think his time in jail helped either.
Yeah Chris goes through the opposite of character development. Like Chris is legit disappointed in season 1 when Justin is eliminated instead of Heather in the episode where Heather reads Gwen's diary during the talent show. Wish there were more analysis on Chris that aren't just war crimes theories and bad faith attempts of diagnosing him with mental disorders or illnesses.
My own theory is that, as the show got more and more popular, and he ended up getting more and more demands from the producers, he slowly began becoming more morally corrupt as long as it got the show its rating and him his fame. He already started off quite full of himself, and the show was already pretty harsh on contestants, so it was really a slippery slope where Chris becomes more unethical and cruel. The fame got to his head.
Along with Blainely, we see Anne Maria in the background of Manhattan in Ridonculous Race. My headcanon is that Anne Maria actually made quite a lot off the gem she found in the mines, because although Chris claims that cubic zirconia is, "practically worthless" he's not exactly correct. While yes, cubic zirconia is valued as little as $10 per carat, the one she leaves with is absolutely massive. It's larger than her head! The average diameter of the human head is 14.4cm, or 144mm. The gemstone seems to be about double the diameter of her head (288mm), so we'll go with that. A 40 mm cubic zirconia round cut is equal to 374 carats. Why is this random gemstone in an abandoned toxic waste mine already cut? I don't know, let's not question it. Scaling that up we get (288/40)^3 x 374 = 139,595 carats. Mother of God. (For context, the largest semiprecious gemstone, faceted, is the “El-Dorado Topaz”- which weighs in at 31,000 carats. Yeah.) So, at $10US/ct for Cubic Zirconia, 139,595ct x $10/ct = $1,395,950. It's worth more than the actual grand prize of the show. Our girl Anne Maria not only made off with over a million, but broke a world record while she was at it! So much for, "practically worthless." ...Aside from the radiation and toxic waste, but let's just ignore that part.
Theory about Mike: Manitoba is an example of him developing a personality through trauma. Manitoba wasn’t just because he put on a hat, it was a response to the trauma of being in an extremely dangerous island and needing to be as brave and daring as an Indiana Jones type. And the thing about Mal is that we never learned why Mike went to Juvie. The problem with a system that criminalizes mental illnesses results in people like Mike going to jail over misunderstandings. Now, we know imprisonment is traumatic and since Mike has created new personalities as a defensive mechanism like with Manitoba, there's truly a chance that Mal was technical innocent and born out of requiring a tough personality to survive Juvie.
@dudewithnolifepoop it's juvie. It's just prison for young people. It's in the name "juvenile detention center" and is generally consider a messed up place. We can easily imagine a scene where Mike shows up, makes some clumsy mistake, gets attacked, and after a while of having to behave like a mouse, trying not to get hurt, decides that he needs to take an offense approach with a personality built on ruthless cunningness and inability to care about others getting hurt. Because we can see Mike can't stand hurting someone, so he has to have another personality do it for him.
@dudewithnolifepoop ironically, I kinda always imagined that being the case because of how dark the show kept being. Heck, Duncan's entire personality is having a criminal record and they had censored boobs in season 1. That not your regular Saturday morning cartoons.
I find it VERY funny when a character has green screen green in their picture and suddenly, they have a forest hair or shirt. It's just my favorite thing ever (Genuinely)
I think that Trent’s derailment (while bad writing) is realistic. He’s a high schooler suspecting all of his friends non-stop for weeks on national television. If that doesn’t make you develop paranoia and obsessively latch onto the one person you fully trust (Gwen), I don’t know what will.
And the one person you fully trusted backstabs you and gaslights you into believing there’s nothing between her and a dude that keeps flirting with her
Adding to the dj being a "raised by women" guy, I believe that in his audition tape that he has a picture on a stand of his mother, but she looks completely different- so it's possible that he has two moms which I think is a cool theory
It's also possible his parents divorced and the dad remarried and his step mom really stepped up to the plate to be a second mother to him. There is also the theory that his mom died, which is why he was emotional during WT.
To add onto Beth's new found misfortune, in one of the aftermath episodes, the ex contestants get a chance to compete in world tour. Beth makes it through all of the challenges and is about to win, but then Blainley blurts out the answer, and Beth is scammed out of her chance of rejoining the game.
I always thought it was quite ironic that Heather got her hair cut off in season 1 of total drama. Heather had previously threatened, after the cooking challenge, that if Lindsay ever betrayed her again that she would cut off all her hair. I don't know if Lindsay knew that Heather was going to get that dare but it was still quite funny that that came back full circle.
Idk why but the thought of Heather being only nice to DJ, who is probably one of the nicest guys in the show, makes me immediately like Heather even more
Total Drama Therapy should be a thing. that way we can see how completely f*cked their lives were after their respective seasons. it's too bad Beardo died though
to strengthen your point to about Mike: the show was trying to portray something called "final fusion" which is a real thing in therapy for some folks with DID; HOWEVER, its being questioned on whether it should be what's strived for since even after you go through it... you can *still* split alters after it if you go through any traumatic events. and uhh mike seems to be under the impression that he's fully "cured" which isn't the greatest and is unfortunately a somewhat common false confidence that people who underwent final fusion in the past once had as well thanks to psychiatrists not fully understanding that it wasn't permanent. so good luck to mike if he ever shows back up on the show. they'll definitely traumatize his ass again and god knows what'll happen to him at that point 😭 btw i should clarify that i have DID myself 👍
If he gets traumatized all that fusion might become useless as it will all come apart like a cloth sown together. Once you pull the string there's no turning back until you're at the starting point again.
They're relationship is about one of the few things good from All Stars. Just a nice small friendship formed between 2 very opposite people at first glance from the separate casts that is simply based on them being regular sane nice people that have the minimum pf empathy in a sea of absolute crazies that was that season
@@ddraven3180 I’m just glad that Gwen didn’t end up completely alone. She was my favorite character since I was little, so Action’s treatment of her, and especially World Tour’s, really pissed me off. I like to think that they went on to be a good support system for one another. Cam helps Gwen remember that she’s still a good person, and Gwen helps him with keeping away from falling back into his bubble. Their height difference is also cute. Saying this as somebody who has several friends that are a whole head taller than me like that-
I do want to mention Anne Maria, because she actually makes a cameo in the Ridonculous Race and appears perfectly fine. Presumably, she came out unscathed.
I am so happy that you actually pointed out Sierra’s creepiness, everyone seems to like her and she’s known as a fan favorite but I always found her really annoying. On her own, I think she’s a decent character, but with Cody she’s unbearable to watch. And people actually find her and Cody CUTE. It’s a shame Beardo died though :(
I think Sierra’s stalker-obsessive shtick would’ve worked more if she was consistently punished for going too far with it. Every once in a while she gets consequences for being creepy, but for the most part it works out in her favor and I feel like that’s what puts people off the most. Cause I agree, on her own she’s pretty funny and quirky, and I wish that aspect of her personality was more focused on. But I honestly think that’s a problem with the entire show as a whole. The more the seasons go on, the more one-note the characters become, and Sierra is no different.
Unfortunately, female characters who do this often get excused or brushed off as harmless even though it's no better than when a male character does it. I recently rewatched some episodes of TDI and realized how insufferable characters like Ezekiel and Cody were but they were also heavily punished and rightfully disliked. I'm not surprised there's a noticeable amount of ppl who like seeing her with Cody.
I'm a bit surprised to find out Sierra is as popular as some other characters (especially compared to Alejandro in the same season, who's popularity is a lot more understandable). I assumed the fanbase would dislike her for the same reasons as Cody and Ezekiel. If it was just an innocent crush and she respected Cody's boundaries, it would probably have been an easier pill to swallow when it comes to her creepy behaviour.
I’m pretty sure Dorris is his middle name plenty of people have a middle name they don’t want people to know a earlier Cartoon Network show ed, Edd and eddy has an entire episode of a character trying to hide his middle name
Something else worth mentioning about Gwen is her call from home. Her mum and little brother are there, but her dad is conspicuously absent. Also, her mum wants to create a Gwen replacement dummy?? Very strange, to say the least. Like Leshawna, I'd take this to mean that Gwen has a weird relationship with her family. Maybe her dad walked out on them or died? It would definitely explain her mum's implied abandonment issues and Gwen's general caginess/bad attitude while secretly craving approval. And why she NEVER talks about her family beyond one line about Cody "being like a little brother." Also, I think Courtney might have a severe case of golden child syndrome based on the "mama didn't raise a quitter" line but that's another discussion.
There's speculation from fans that the reason Courtney is the way she is (obsessed with winning, uptight and bossy) due to her homelife. Basically her parents were controlling over and demanded she be perfect at everything, would not accept her getting less than 100% in schoolwork. It would also explain why she has poor social skills-to focus solely on school to meet their unrealistic expectations.
can we just take a moment to acknowledge the commitment of this man. i have never seen someone take an entire year to make a 2 hour long video discussing a childhood television show and watch the show repeatedly to create this script for entertainment. He created and analysed multiple total drama theories, proved them, debunked them and created new ones. This man shaved his head to make a point about how hair is an essential part of mental being. BHultra is the epitome of dedication
When you have dissociative identity disorder, you don't know what the trauma was the personality that you made to endure it does. Mike didn't tell Zoey because he doesn't have any clue. Most people don't even know they have the disorder because the point of the disorder is to hide the trauma from them. That's why it took so long for me to realize I might have it.
I always thought it was an accidental implication that he had an altar that only showed up when he was shirtless, who was aggressive and overly masculine.
I think this varies from system to system cuz some systems I’ve listened to mention that the host has no idea or vague ideas or full knowledge. I think it also depends on where your system is on your healing journey too, I believe it’s a non-linear thing.
I used to think I had DID because I could kind of go into other headspaces and act different as a defense for other crap I was dealing with and no one really challenged my beliefs. The ironic thing was, I kept thinking how I was missing the childhood trauma factor. I say it's ironic because I found out years later after I woke up from my delusion that I have childhood PTSD from my well-intentioned but abusive parents
@@ionastewart8814 Gollum that's the pop culture reference I was missing... Thx now I can edit. How tf did I remember Captain Pike but forget Gollum. 💀 Also agreement, Zeek was trauma... Also wow the most horrifying moments of this show were all pop culture references...
The psychology of the characters is fascinating. Scott had a tough mother while Duncan had an overly permissive one, and they both ended up becoming attracted to aggressive women, and DJ lacked a father figure, so he seeks out donineering male role models. 🤔 I never noticed that when I watched this show as a kid.
As someone with DID, it's nice to see people talk about Mike's theories about his trauma or system. I have my own theories I can't share because I don't have any friends that like the show or the character as me. I'm craving a video about Mike's system, I don't think he was left with psychological damage from the show but he must have some fucked up backstory.
A theory I heard about was that Mike developed his personalities from getting abused by his Grandfather. Chester represents Mike’s anger towards him and his way of trying to retaliate was to simulate his Grandfather which didn’t work, Svetlana represents how he felt demasculated and how he started to try evading him, Veto represents the result of the abuse hyper sexuality, Manitoba could be a figure that Mike wants to be a confident ladies man, and Mal was the last one. While Mike was getting abused during a blue moon he finally snapped and killed him leading to him being sent to juvie.
When you're talking about Heather being nice to DJ, I remembered she hugged DJ in the group hug when he left in the first season. Not something Heather would do normally, I wish they expanded on that friendship a bit more, I feel like it would've been cool.
I feel like heather outside of the show is probably a totally different person, like, sometimes we need to take the role of a villain to entertain people
@@70Lu07thank you for commenting that! I always thought that since a lot of her actions are for the show. I don't deny that she's still mean to some degree outside the show.
Another thing that points me in the direction as to *why* Trent is mostly paranoid and obsessed with Gwen is because she was with him during ever head trauma he suffered
I'm so glad that you talked about Scott being in the trauma chair scaring you as a kid. I had horrible nightmares after seeing him like that and it freaked me out for years after lol. I can't believe that got cleared lmao
I think Duncan's story is really sad In jail, you can't be sensitive. You have to be tough and emotionless, because if you show weakness you can die. In season 1, Duncan mostly acts like he's supposed to, as a big scary bad guy who doesn't care about anything or anyone, except for the rare moment of showing more, especially when talking about his lost dog. Which is also the first sign that he likes animals. But after that, season by season and gets more and more soft, probably having trouble hiding it, especially when it comes to Courtney and, well, animals. (Talking about animals I think that having Harold accidentally kill his pet was really dark especially for someone traumatized by the loss of his dog. And no it's not more okay because his pet was a spider) And it all comes to a high in all stars where he's put in the "good guys" team, which makes him realize how soft he let himself be ON LIVE TV (which, again, is potentially dangerous for a guy in jail) and decide to prove that he's still a bad boy tough guy by, well, arson And that's what lend him in big boy jail So yeah all I see if a teen who tries really hard to stick to a role society gave him even if it's litterally sending him to prison
i mean, its total drama so the depiction of juvie isnt gonna be great, but as someone whos brother was in and out of juvie for my entire childhood, and who has a lot of family in prison (not jail), its not really...THAT dangerous, as in deadly, provided youre in minimum security and dont actively look for trouble. it definitely changes you, and if he had to deal with someone like mal running around then yeah he's gonna put up a lot of walls to protect himself, but i think his attitude has a LOT to do with his dad as well. he seems like a hardass. its also important to note than duncan is punk, and while punks arent assholes, they do tend to take less shit and be more upfront with their opinions, which often gets them in trouble. you also tend to be pretty disillusioned with #society (because we do live in a society), and pretty anti cop, and isnt his family like....all cops? lol
@@nocturalTragedy yeah punks are super based lmao And yeah also there's a scene in action where the campers have a chance to see a close one for the night, and like, most people have their parents or friends there, and Duncan has... The cop that makes sure he doesn't get in trouble again, basically. Not his parents. That's not a good sign I think Also, historically the punk movement always was kinda self-destructive. The "no future" slogan also means not really caring about yourself and your safety because there isn't anything to protect anyway. So that's that
@@BananaFaceDude56 I just don't think that happened, even if he and the others still die it was probably the atmosphere poping the balloons and then they fell to their deaths but since Trent survived a pretty big fall maybe they did also. but hey I may be wrong and they are connoncly dead but I don't think they did.
RR gave Geoff/Noah/Owen happy endings and pretty much fixes the reasons they were on the board to begin with. Geoff makes a ton of new friends and wins in certain timelines, Owen is a reality tv pro and would definitely have money now, and Noah finds his life fulfilment in Emma.
Eh to be fair Owen would be a joy to have on any show. I mean seriously he’s so likable and funny that no one can say anything bad about him. Only thing that anyone might hate him for is his excessive farts. Other than that I’d say anyone would be happy to have a friend like him.
1:40:09 My theory is that Chris was doing some sort of experimentations with the Tiki idols and his own DNA, maybe has a way to fuse the Tiki idols into his bloodstream or something like that so he won't have to keep getting idols. This plan presumably failed, since he still wears the pouch around his neck, but, through some mishaps or as a by-product of the experimentations, the Tiki idols took the shape of Chris's face and, through accidental cross contamination, some of the plants also became fused with Chris's DNA and also developed a similar visage to him as well.
@@JonathanLopez-fs5lt Only people in universe like the other contestants. Everyone thought she would be on the heroes team when AS was first announced.
Remember being called New Heather in WT and in Action being forced into sacking challenges, and whatever happened to her in All stars accidentally harming Courtney when all she wanted to do was reconcile with her.
trent’s number 9 thing is definitely OCD - you’re right about the “having to do something specific or something bad happens” in most cases of OCD. while it does vary, numbers and repetition is a common intrusive thought among people with it, like flicking a light switch 14 times or your dog will die. i always encourage more research from medical and mental health websites, since it’s always been a very misunderstood disorder. but you got it just about right and very respectfully! source: have ocd
Yup, it’s characterized by unwanted, intrusive, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and ritualistic behaviors that often serve as a method of temporarily relieving oneself from the stress of those thoughts (compulsions). You already said you have OCD and I do too but I just wanted to add a couple things because this disorder is very misunderstood •People with this disorder experience obsessions AND/OR compulsions. You don’t actually have to have both. • The obsessions or thoughts can pretty much be anything. It can be a specific thought/topic/issue, or a range of thoughts and issues (I.e religious OCD, Harm obsessions, contamination obsessions, etc) •Telling a person to use common sense or that it’s pointless to worry who has OCD does NOT work. The majority of people with OCD are aware that these obsessions are not “rational”, or rather, we know that the thoughts carry little significance, there is little the thought can do to actually impact us, but we can’t help but worry. People without OCD can simply turn off a thought that bothers them. With OCD, you keep thinking about it and you give the thought more power over you than it should have. • OCD ≠ Neat freak. Contamination, mess, and organization related OCD is only part of the spectrum. You don’t need to have obsessions regarding these things to have OCD. Additionally, these subtypes go far beyond being a neat freak or just really liking things to be clean and organized because the people with them experience significant cognitive distress due to these obsessions and coping with them.
yeah, i don’t like that so many people think ocd is needing everything to be perfect, i was diagnosed with it when i was 11 but showed signs even much before that and it’s not just always about being neat and perfect
also to note the thing with the hair and why it is traumatic is not just that its something that people often tie to their identity, but these were people who didn't have a say in losing their hair. It's like how some parents are known to punish kids by shaving off their hair as public humiliation tactics-- the loss of hair is somewhat of a joke but can be a real for of trauma by having something forcefully taken from you without the true consent.
You could also make an argument for him being in both as alongside the physical trauma sustained to his sac of nuts he probably won’t be able to have children in the future which may weight on his metal health. But hey that’s just a theory
I just realized when he gets eliminated in Island, you can see Trent’s paranoia set in when he’s says “we’re still ok, right?” when talking about him and Gwen’s relationship
57:30 from what the amazing world of gumball taught me is that when a balloon is close to the sun it just pops so its possible all of the balloons popped when they got to the sun
Then they’d fall a couple hundred feet and splat on the ground or have retina damage from the sun or get cancer from getting close to it. Either way physical damage and dead.
It’s not out of the realm of possibility either that at the time he was a younger sibling but then his parents had a few more. I know plenty of people including myself that had younger siblings born when I was a teenager
In The Ridonculous Race, Owen does admit that he still gets a little nervous while flying. He even carries a teddy bear with him on every flight, until he eats it
Owen talking about his “younger brothers” is a direct quote and reference from the Goonies, he is the youngest of his brothers and does NOT have any younger siblings it was just a reference. You can look up “Chunk confesses to the Fratelli’s” and it’s word for word what Owen says. Hope this clears things up!
I feel bad for Gwen. At worst she was antisocial at the beginning of the show but she did nothing wrong and could’ve asked out of it with, at the very least, some new friends if she was typecasted as the bad guy
Gwen wasn't even the LEAST mean of the total drama girls. The only thing she had going for her is that she wasn't the MOST mean either. She was a fairly simple, plain girl, whose worst aspects were brought out of her. Then, when she saw how bad she'd been, she radically overcompensates in the hopes of being able to live with herself -- because she DOES feel bad, but when Gwen feels bad about something she goes to ridiculous lengths to make it "right".
There's a reason chris was recast. The original voice of Chris had multiple charges of SA on him Edit. I wanna make a correction. He was accused but never charged. I'm sorry
good for them for changing it then. I just wish they got someone who sounded more like the original Chris. It wasn't as jarring when Alejandro's voice actor for example got replaced in all stars because at least the new one tried to sound like the old one. They didn't even try to match Chris' voice
I'd include Blainley, Harold, Brick, Gwen, Lindsay, Zoey, Owen, Geoff, Duncan, Courtney, Rodney, Scarlett, Max, Sky, Heather, Sierra (Blainley is humiliated on live TV, Which might sound standard but remember that she's a celebrity) (Harold is the most bullied contestant on the show and has his embarrassing full named revealed live) (Brick pissed his pants live, he'd get eaten alive back at the army) (Gwen is villianized for breaking up with Trent and Duncan cheats on Courtney with her, that will follow her forever) (Lindsay will be seen as a "dumb blonde" stereotype) ("If she had trouble making friends before then being a LOTR character and shooting arrows while swinging from trees isn't gonna help") (Owen can't hear the word "revenge" without publicly embarrassing himself) (Geoff lost some of his friends) (Duncan becomes a felon) (Courtney ends with no friends and is shown to be hard to work with on live TV) (Rodney is portrayed as a dumb hick) (Scarlett committed an act of terror and Max is considered an accomplice, on TV, they're going to jail) (Sky cheated on her boyfriend on TV) (Heather's Regina George behavior is shown on TV, that kind of shit follows you for the rest of your life) (Sierra's obsessive behavior is shown on TV, again that kind of shit follows you for the rest of your life) And reminder that these are teenagers with _future employers_
@@nitrodark7027 Also about Heather, we know from her backstory that she most likely didn't have a good upbringing and was abused by her parents basically making her mean she was also sent to electroshock therapy to cure "the mean" in her for gods sake.
My personal theory on why Chris's voice sounds different is that it's Topher in such a perfect Chris cosplay that he may as well BE Chris. it's completely unserious but it may as well be the end point for Topher.
I thought that too!! Like he had plastic surgery to look like him and created another season of total drama to finally become the new Chris!! When I first found out about the new voice for Chris first I was upset and then I thought did topher took Chris's identity or something.
@@hiddencrystal1316not just plastic surgery, he probably killed him nd made a skin suit of the guy, otherwise the real Chris would have been hounding him with legal threats faster than you can say identity fraud
I like the theory, the actual reason is the original voice actor, Chris Potenza (I think that’s how his name is spelt) got fired around a year ago, I might be wrong, but he got fired regardless and got replaced by the voice actor of don from the ridonculous race
@@Riceyricericeyay No, that's not true at all. The writers had already planned the Duncan vs Beth finale way back before the season even aired. Lindsay was never going to be a finalist in Action
Another thing I want to point out about Zoey's trauma is the fact that she literally had to watch her boyfriend slowly go insane, and eventually attempt to kill her. I know everyone argues with that whole shebang because "omg she's so stupid how could she have seriously believed Mal for as long as she did," but I think we should look at things from her perspective. She wasn't shown the same things the viewers were. Sure, we got the truth that Mike was actually Mal handed to us on a silver platter, but Zoey did not get that liberty. She did not see everything we saw. And you can't blame someone for wanting to think their partner is a good person. A really big reason I believe Zoey was so adamant about Mike being alright is because we already know she's a very shy, anxious, and unconfident girl. When she finally found a guy that actually liked and cared for her, she was so happy to finally have that feeling of self-worth. She didn't want to believe that Mike turned evil because then she would lose the only thing she felt truly confident about. And lets be honest with ourselves - If people were repeatedly talking shit about your best friend/partner, you'd be pretty hesitant to believe it too. Anyway, back to trauma. She was beaten down throughout all of AS, from Mal manipulating her to everyone believing she was stupid and 'blind'. And even when she finally came to the realization that Mal had taken control, she still couldn't bring herself to hurt him because she knew deep down the boy she loved was still in there somewhere. Unfortunately, Mal did not give her the same mercy. He hunted her down serial killer style and attempted to drown her. I can't imagine how terrifying that must've been for her, to look into the eyes of the boy who used to love you as said boy tries to end your life. It's so sad to think about the kind of PTSD she likely suffered following the show. All in all, I believe that Zoey's extremally overhated and quite frankly, underestimated. However, these are just my opinions/theories, you can believe in whatever works for you:)
I tend to agree with the vast majority of people when it comes to All Stars issues, but everyone dog piling on Zoey always felt unfair. I completely agree with your analysis
I'm just saying what if Leonard isn't delusional? What if he just REALLY committed to larping. He will not break character, even if he is losing. It makes watching him way more entertaining lol
@@you.................... there's a theory that Mike _was_ an actor, specifically a child actor, and his alters are either his co-stars or roles he played.
About Jo: they definitely humiliated for her for her body which she talks about at one point I’m pretty sure. I think that counts as psychological but idk if it effects her bc she flew into the sun
Random notes I'm adding as the video goes on: - In defense of Beardo, I think it's been confirmed that the canonical reason for his gimmick was because he was really shy and could only express himself through sound effects, and it was through that method of expressing himself that he not only got eliminated, but also blew his chance of getting over his shyness and actually making a few friends. Now put yourself in his shoes. Imagine you're really shy and the only way to cope with that is by making random sound effects. Now imagine annoying your teamates so much that they eliminate you. That would hurt you mentally. It hurts to get a chance to make friends for once in your life and end up pushing them away. Also, it was a shame he died tho. Lol. -That is actually some really great foreshadowing (I'm not telling you if I'm talking about Zoey's audition tape or Anne Maria's)
Explanation for the balloon incident: It was confirmed that the All Stars cast in the balloons landed in a nearby lake. Theyre not dead luckily. Although i do agree that they shoudlve adressed it in the show since now everyone thinks theyre dead 😅😂

39:00 OK, I don't care for Zoe much, but are you seriously telling me that people *wouldn't* want to be friends with a jungle elf who fashions her own bow and arrow to hunt down a psychotic manhunter? *That's the most badarse talent lineup possible.*
Beth's curse makes so much sense, only thing that I would change is that the curse lasts as long as they are in possession of the idol. Once it was returned it would start to fade, or would at least be on a time limit.
I have a soft spot for the Revenge cast since it’s actually the season I started with (made the legacy character episodes VERY confusing lmao) so it was nice to see the psychological torment they all went through represented here. For the record though, Jo went through more than you give her credit for. Her relationship with femininity was constantly scrutinized due to her masc appearance and tastes in a way other more masculine characters like Eva never got, even when she expressed a deep desire to be seen as pretty in the makeover episode. She’s shown as disgusting by the show for no reason for the crime of not even being that unconventional, and despite having a really solid run gets nowhere near the love other female villains like Heather and Courtney get from the fandom. Had she not died in the sun she probably would’ve spent a long time wondering how much of herself she’d have to change to have been a “cool masc chick” and not a gross one. Luckily in half the timelines she gets to open a gym with cam’s winnings before her tragic sun-related circumstances.
25:52 my guess is that her talent is mechanics! Because she was able to build to bicycles, one with stolen motorcycle parts, SUCCESSFULLY, and in TDA she supposedly couldn’t even push a carriage
@@stephenxue5607 In all honesty, I always loved that outfit. Maybe it's because I've always loved societal statements and abstract art, which is pretty clearly the inspiration for the outfit she put together for him. I always saw it as perfectly walking the line of runway obscurity, and with the state of the fashion industry she actually really nailed it. Analysis on how samey would be affected:
Her life at home would've become even worse.

My theory about Mike is that his trauma was being put in juvenile detention for something he didn’t do, and Mal was the first personality he developed in order to survive in prison.
the criteria for DID states the trauma has to happen before the age of 7-9 though, and juvie is pretty much _never_ a sentence for someone under 9.
@saturn1486 That might be true, but total drama has never been super realistic so I stand by it
@@CalliopesigilThat actually isn't true. DID is most commonly formed in early childhood but there is actually no specific cut off age for its development.
I can see this being true however some people come out of hell improved, But let's be honest all these kids need therapy
"The therorizer" did a whole set of theories about it
As funny as I find Chris McLean in the show, I would certainly be livid and disgusted by him if he was real. Essentially, Total Drama in real life would be played out as a death camp.
Especially considering that the prize Chris is offering is money. In the series between the first and second seasons, everyone was only concerned about money, and in the first episode of the second season, Beth said: “Admit it, money is the only reason we put up with Chris.”
At the end of season five there were three couples and it looked like everyone had found love, and it looked like Chris was supposed to be the "final boss" rather than a contestant's opponent, but as soon as Chris mentioned money, everyone came back to competition (to be honest, I don’t really like this).
It is not for nothing that the Bible says: “(First Timothy 6:10) For the love of money is the root of all evil, to which some have abandoned the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.”
And in one Soviet cartoon it was sung like this: “It’s all about money, money, all the evil comes from it, I wouldn’t see it again for a lifetime.”
Yikes! I am glad Scott was eventually able to talk and walk again a year later in Total Drama All-Stars.
Captain Pike was actually the captain in the very original Star Trek pilot! The more you know! I guess the creators then wanted to reference him in some way despite switching to a different captain, so brought him back as someone who preceded Kirk but was put into a debilitating state.

Yeah.)
So, at $10US/ct for Cubic Zirconia, 139,595ct x $10/ct = $1,395,950. It's worth more than the actual grand prize of the show. Our girl Anne Maria not only made off with over a million, but broke a world record while she was at it! So much for, "practically worthless."
...Aside from the radiation and toxic waste, but let's just ignore that part.
i'd hope she invested in that money, btw i like the fact in the 2023 revival we see references to other characters in the background
i genuinely love the amount of work that went into this calculation. a comment to match the detail level of the video it's under
Im glad anne got a happy ending, shes my fave ❤
Cubic Zirconia is typically a synthetic gem, that’s the reason it isn’t worth a lot. I really don’t know what it would be doing in a mine.

Now, we know imprisonment is traumatic and since Mike has created new personalities as a defensive mechanism like with Manitoba, there's truly a chance that Mal was technical innocent and born out of requiring a tough personality to survive Juvie.
if thats the case then what in the fuck is wrong with mike and duncan's juvie that made mal, uhhhhhh mal
@@floridasavannah oh god i do not want to imagine that
@dudewithnolifepoop ironically, I kinda always imagined that being the case because of how dark the show kept being.
It is realistic. I can relate to that even without having it been broadcasted to everyone
And the one person you fully trusted backstabs you and gaslights you into believing there’s nothing between her and a dude that keeps flirting with her
I think that plays a part why Trent was one of the more rememberable characters on the show. He does seem like someone I would see in real life.

to strengthen your point to about Mike: the show was trying to portray something called "final fusion" which is a real thing in therapy for some folks with DID; HOWEVER, its being questioned on whether it should be what's strived for since even after you go through it... you can *still* split alters after it if you go through any traumatic events. and uhh mike seems to be under the impression that he's fully "cured" which isn't the greatest and is unfortunately a somewhat common false confidence that people who underwent final fusion in the past once had as well thanks to psychiatrists not fully understanding that it wasn't permanent. so good luck to mike if he ever shows back up on the show. they'll definitely traumatize his ass again and god knows what'll happen to him at that point 😭
btw i should clarify that i have DID myself 👍
If he gets traumatized all that fusion might become useless as it will all come apart like a cloth sown together. Once you pull the string there's no turning back until you're at the starting point again.
Interesting I learnt something today thanks to you. Thanks for taking the time to clarify that.

Gwen actually gained a friend in Cameron. They were on good terms when the show ended.
Finally! Somebody else remembers! I like their friendship a lot. Not expected, but sweet all the same
They're relationship is about one of the few things good from All Stars.
Finally someone said it. Always hated that girl 😣
@@mr.sandman7339Uh no. Cody on likes her as a friend. Why do fans wanted Cody to be paired with her of all people?
I'm a bit surprised to find out Sierra is as popular as some other characters (especially compared to Alejandro in the same season, who's popularity is a lot more understandable). I assumed the fanbase would dislike her for the same reasons as Cody and Ezekiel. If it was just an innocent crush and she respected Cody's boundaries, it would probably have been an easier pill to swallow when it comes to her creepy behaviour.

And why she NEVER talks about her family beyond one line about Cody "being like a little brother."
Also, I think Courtney might have a severe case of golden child syndrome based on the "mama didn't raise a quitter" line but that's another discussion.
I would like to say that I'm also in a system and I remember a large amount of our trauma just not what the trauma holders deemed "too bad"

I'm so glad that you talked about Scott being in the trauma chair scaring you as a kid. I had horrible nightmares after seeing him like that and it freaked me out for years after lol. I can't believe that got cleared lmao
I think Duncan's story is really sad
In jail, you can't be sensitive.
And no it's not more okay because his pet was a spider)
And it all comes to a high in all stars where he's put in the "good guys" team, which makes him realize how soft he let himself be ON LIVE TV (which, again, is potentially dangerous for a guy in jail) and decide to prove that he's still a bad boy tough guy by, well, arson
And that's what lend him in big boy jail
So yeah all I see if a teen who tries really hard to stick to a role society gave him even if it's litterally sending him to prison
i mean, its total drama so the depiction of juvie isnt gonna be great, but as someone whos brother was in and out of juvie for my entire childhood, and who has a lot of family in prison (not jail), its not really...THAT dangerous, as in deadly, provided youre in minimum security and dont actively look for trouble. it definitely changes you, and if he had to deal with someone like mal running around then yeah he's gonna put up a lot of walls to protect himself, but i think his attitude has a LOT to do with his dad as well. he seems like a hardass.
its also important to note than duncan is punk, and while punks arent assholes, they do tend to take less shit and be more upfront with their opinions, which often gets them in trouble. you also tend to be pretty disillusioned with #society (because we do live in a society), and pretty anti cop, and isnt his family like....all cops? lol
@@nocturalTragedy yeah punks are super based lmao
And yeah also there's a scene in action where the campers have a chance to see a close one for the night, and like, most people have their parents or friends there, and Duncan has... The cop that makes sure he doesn't get in trouble again, basically. Not his parents. That's not a good sign I think
Also, historically the punk movement always was kinda self-destructive. The "no future" slogan also means not really caring about yourself and your safety because there isn't anything to protect anyway. So that's that
and then he flew into the sun
Wait... wasn't Courtney the one that killed Duncan's pet? It was Harold? I need to see that season again
@@BananaFaceDude56 I just don't think that happened, even if he and the others still die it was probably the atmosphere poping the balloons and then they fell to their deaths but since Trent survived a pretty big fall maybe they did also.

trent’s number 9 thing is definitely OCD - you’re right about the “having to do something specific or something bad happens” in most cases of OCD. while it does vary, numbers and repetition is a common intrusive thought among people with it, like flicking a light switch 14 times or your dog will die. i always encourage more research from medical and mental health websites, since it’s always been a very misunderstood disorder. but you got it just about right and very respectfully!
source: have ocd
Yup, it’s characterized by unwanted, intrusive, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and ritualistic behaviors that often serve as a method of temporarily relieving oneself from the stress of those thoughts (compulsions). You already said you have OCD and I do too but I just wanted to add a couple things because this disorder is very misunderstood
•People with this disorder experience obsessions AND/OR compulsions. You don’t actually have to have both.
• The obsessions or thoughts can pretty much be anything. It can be a specific thought/topic/issue, or a range of thoughts and issues (I.e religious OCD, Harm obsessions, contamination obsessions, etc)
•Telling a person to use common sense or that it’s pointless to worry who has OCD does NOT work.

Maybe the younger siblings were fostered/adopted later on in the series. The parents might've needed that government paycheck

Edit. I wanna make a correction. He was accused but never charged. I'm sorry
wait what
i like to hc that he sounds different bcs hes topher in disguise
@@TDPanic that sounds more positive, I like it
WHAT! 😭
good for them for changing it then. I just wish they got someone who sounded more like the original Chris. It wasn't as jarring when Alejandro's voice actor for example got replaced in all stars because at least the new one tried to sound like the old one. They didn't even try to match Chris' voice
I actually screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOO" out loud the second I realized what was happening during the hair bit.
Have I ever watched Total Drama? No. Have I binged your videos about it? Absolutely.
I think you should have added a third category for how certain characters were affected: social. Example: Justin, Tyler, Leshawna, etc.
I'd include Blainley, Harold, Brick, Gwen, Lindsay, Zoey, Owen, Geoff, Duncan, Courtney, Rodney, Scarlett, Max, Sky, Heather, Sierra
(Blainley is humiliated on live TV, Which might sound standard but remember that she's a celebrity)
(Harold is the most bullied contestant on the show and has his embarrassing full named revealed live)
(Brick pissed his pants live, he'd get eaten alive back at the army)
(Gwen is villianized for breaking up with Trent and Duncan cheats on Courtney with her, that will follow her forever)
(Lindsay will be seen as a "dumb blonde" stereotype)
("If she had trouble making friends before then being a LOTR character and shooting arrows while swinging from trees isn't gonna help")
(Owen can't hear the word "revenge" without publicly embarrassing himself)
(Geoff lost some of his friends)
(Duncan becomes a felon)
(Courtney ends with no friends and is shown to be hard to work with on live TV)
(Rodney is portrayed as a dumb hick)
(Scarlett committed an act of terror and Max is considered an accomplice, on TV, they're going to jail)
(Sky cheated on her boyfriend on TV)
(Heather's Regina George behavior is shown on TV, that kind of shit follows you for the rest of your life)
(Sierra's obsessive behavior is shown on TV, again that kind of shit follows you for the rest of your life)
And reminder that these are teenagers with _future employers_
@@nitrodark7027 Well Duncan was technically a felon before.
@@nitrodark7027
Also about Heather, we know from her backstory that she most likely didn't have a good upbringing and was abused by her parents basically making her mean she was also sent to electroshock therapy to cure "the mean" in her for gods sake.
@@nitrodark7027 but Lindsay, Duncan, Courtney and Sierra are dead
Wait what!
Nah, Don's just wearing Chris' skin. He's the new voice actor, after-all
I believe Don possessed Chris’ body as he was dying like in Child’s Play
I like the theory, the actual reason is the original voice actor, Chris Potenza (I think that’s how his name is spelt) got fired around a year ago, I might be wrong, but he got fired regardless and got replaced by the voice actor of don from the ridonculous race
Lawshauna was actually supposed to win but her voice actor had a medical emergency so they changed the script
in action? that was lindsay...
@@Riceyricericeyay No, that's not true at all. The writers had already planned the Duncan vs Beth finale way back before the season even aired. Lindsay was never going to be a finalist in Action
I honestly thought it was Lindsay.
No, Leshawna was going to be voted off by Heather, we can see that the Playa des losers episode was originally a fashion challenge.
Blainley comes out the other side (probably) better. In the Lightning All-stars bonus clip you can see Blainley with Bruno in the swan boat
However, these are just my opinions/theories, you can believe in whatever works for you:)
so true zoey did nothing wrong !!!
I tend to agree with the vast majority of people when it comes to All Stars issues, but everyone dog piling on Zoey always felt unfair. I completely agree with your analysis
I completely agree! ❤
THIS!!!!
@@Zoey_Soloshas zoey and Mike broke up or did they fix it out
I'm just saying what if Leonard isn't delusional? What if he just REALLY committed to larping. He will not break character, even if he is losing. It makes watching him way more entertaining lol
He knows there’s no magic and is just REALLY committed to the bit

For someone who didn't see past the first season, this is some great video content I must say.....it's a shame that Beardo died though~
exactly! it’s such a shame beardo died
About Jo: they definitely humiliated for her for her body which she talks about at one point I’m pretty sure. I think that counts as psychological but idk if it effects her bc she flew into the sun
Thank you for finally shedding some light on Beardo’s death, scariest moment of the show
Random notes I'm adding as the video goes on:
- In defense of Beardo, I think it's been confirmed that the canonical reason for his gimmick was because he was really shy and could only express himself through sound effects, and it was through that method of expressing himself that he not only got eliminated, but also blew his chance of getting over his shyness and actually making a few friends.
@autism-chan2517 what's your 5 favorite total drama characters?
It’s a shame Beardo died though

Explanation for the balloon incident: It was confirmed that the All Stars cast in the balloons landed in a nearby lake. Theyre not dead luckily. Although i do agree that they shoudlve adressed it in the show since now everyone thinks theyre dead 😅😂

Landing in a lake from that high of a fall wouldn't be that much better than solid ground.

As someone with diagnosed D.i.d who was a fan of the show and specifically Mike as a child, the way you spoke about him and described my disorder was honestly really refreshing to see. Thank you for also admitting that you yourself don't know that much about the disorder as it is, incredibly complex. He was one of the first cases of D.I.D we ever saw, that ever resinated with me Even if he is Bad rep, he will always have a special place in my heart
sameee he was the first example i saw and i got very attached and invested in the disorder for a long time after watching the show, without realising there was a reason for that...
We also have DID and I bet if we had seen this show sooner, we would've been able to figure it out. I agree that he did a good job admitting his knowledge on the subject instead of just assuming! Glad to see another system in the comments :) -Connor
same! Mike actually helped us find out about our own D.I.D and we'll forever love him for that(despite the, uhh, "dated" terms/depictions lol)
As an adult seeing this for the first time he's inaccurate rep, but if we saw it as a kid it'd probably have been a really big aha moment
Fake
Sure i'll incorporate that into my worldview
Pretty sure it would've been fashion considering she showed that as her talent multiple times.
Did you see her fashion tiebreaker in wt 💀 tyler looked liked a gremlin
@@stephenxue5607 In all honesty, I always loved that outfit. Maybe it's because I've always loved societal statements and abstract art, which is pretty clearly the inspiration for the outfit she put together for him. I always saw it as perfectly walking the line of runway obscurity, and with the state of the fashion industry she actually really nailed it. I never understood why people thought it was bad, until I realized most people took it at face value, only seeing it as a "would I walk in this down the street (canvas frame included)" kinda look. Which I think is sad

I always assumed Owen's parents had more kids while he was competing because the dates on how long they would've competed based on the 1 episode a week schedule gave his parents more than enough time
