At the end of his encore, I helped him walk down the semi-dark stairs at the rear of the stage. He thanked me for the help, and I told him that he put on a great show...2 days later he died of a heart attack....RIP Juan Gabriel

The guy kills it, the audience is enthralled and the cherry on top; he jumps the rope with the microphone cable. This guy is at a total different level 🎚️
Fun fact, this concert was held in Palacio de bellas artes which is the biggest and most prestigious venue for cultural and classical music performances in Mexico. Juan Gabriel was the first popular artist to perform there and opened those doors for everyone else.
It was a popular saying back in the day that "Juan Gabriel is not for Bellas Artes"; after such performance people started saying that same thing but adding "Bellas Artes is for Juan Gabriel"

His performances were always this great. There's one time he performed at a dinner with the governor of my state. He made the governor and his wife to dance on top of the table! He always involved the audience so much and always made funny and sassy comments.
The singing is excellent, technically right on the money while delivering real emotion. The Mariachi band is really good, not La Cucaracha style for American tourists but the real thing for Mexicans. This was one of his best concerts ever, Prime Juan Gabriel at his best. To think these didn't realize the show they were about to see when they sat down in their seats that night. I wish I could've been there to experience this beautiful performance.
