Another good day Paul, nice lead token there, you dont take yourself too seriously or try to make yourself look clever, excellent entertainment mate, well done !!
Awww thanks mate that's very kind of you to say. I'll look daft if I tried to be clever 😂. I never take myself too serious and glad you enjoy the videos.
Me neither they are normally just small with few faded details on. Nice to find one with lots of detail on it. Thanks it's good to be back out filming. 😃
For a second, I thought that lead token was gold when it came up, nearly crapped meself! Still a nice find mate, never seen or heard about one like it. Keep it up Paul.
Amazing that lead token is Paul. Never seen one like that. The tool thing I'd say is possibly broken pliers handle or nut crackers. Jim'll fix it badge ... made me laugh 😃. Nice day there mate. 👍
Yes I've not seen one like that before it's like it was made yesterday the condition of it. Ahh yes that's a good call on pliers handle or nut crackers. Had a cracking day thanks mate.
Diameter, please? that might help to resolve. Agree mimicry of Elizabethan but just working out what coin it is trying to imitiate. Either it is a token in its own right or it is the basis of a fogrery designed to deceive the illiterate, who would not pick up on its descriptive deficiencies; not that the latter would have much cause to handle the higher value denominations anyway. 16th cent tokens with traditional coin designs and verbiage round the outside are usually boy bishops, but there is no hint of that; whilst, commercial tokens of that period are normally very small {12-13mm across}. Not that they have to be, there were no set rules. Can I please put in my lead token newsletter thetokensociety.org.uk/ltt/ ? it is a bit unusual.
Many thanks. That is shilling size, and far larger than almost every other token of the period; implying, I guess, that it was a piece made to deceive. Yes, by all means attempt some more photographs, although I think the original one should be adequate.
Let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
