I didn't really catch anything about this in your video and I'm been looking around for a good answer: Do antlers contain more of one compound over another? Is there any reason for a small scale grower to strive for large conks? Other than spore collection?
With some species, like Cordyceps, we grow them slower. Not looking for large fruits because we want to concentrate the compounds. Is it possible to do something similar with Reishi?

I was out scouting for reishi in the eastern Adirondacks today. 80 degrees, a little humid and I'm, almost 64. About a half mile in I was starting to melt down. This was like my 3rd water break when I remembered I brought my secret weapon. This is a chaga dual extract mixed cranberry juice and a splash of reishi dual x. Well I didn't exactly run out but had plenty of energy to finish the hike. I know some are thinking , wow a mile hike , way to go granpa , but this is Adirondack lite not a yuppie state trail. I've been using this concoction for a few years now and it works. Anybody wanna go reishi huntin , hit me up , if you dare.

Here in Thailand I can go to Makro (Thai Costco) and get a bag of reishi for a little over a dollar and the tea I brew with that can last me the better part of a week. Mushrooms are amazing. They are so so good for you. We had a dog called Alfie and he had cancer, we were told he only had a few months to live. We get offered many many many options for his treatment and one was mushroom treatment. He loved for over a year more, but lived very well. he was so healthy. I think that they have so much potential to grow and become fundamental not just for eating but for all types of treatments.

We had a husky named Cha Cha who had seizures. Meds were killing her , and did eventually destroy her liver ( IMHO). I started giving her chaga dual extract ( alcohol cooked off) and we reduced her meds and she had a couple "good " months before she took a turn and passed. The chaga really seemed to help. I have my current dogs on it and cut out bread and they get either grass-fed beef of venison stew with there nuggets, every day. I raise beef so if I butcher myself I get about a trash barrel full of food to cook down and freeze. A good year of hunting the same 2-3 deer will yield up about 30-40 lbs of trimmings, innards and parts I dont want. Love my fur babies.

And normally use between six to eight grams in two divided doses, one in the morning and another at sunset. It does have a great many benefits. I've been using it now for almost fifteen years. As even left leaning new organizations are now admitting, both covid deaths and covid positives were GROSSLY OVEREXAGERATTED. Great video, thanks! I have these growing in my garden, but I have my first indoor ones ever starting to pin now. Any idea if there is a difference in beta glucans and terpines in the final product between plain past sawdust vs nutrified sawdust vs log grown vs wild? Id be very curious to learn more on that.
Also, do you know any good resources to understand extraction efficacy at different times and temps for water and ethanol extraction methods? I really want to improve my tinctures. Thanks!

I think at some point I'll try to soak one if these in cognac for 24 hours, the throw them into a 6-hour minimum short rib braise.
That'd add a mushrooms flavor to the braise and yet the alcohol soaking and hot water would hopefully extract some of those important health benefits from the fruiting body.

definitely preparation methods contribute to its efficacy, the heating of it in tea activates it, spore capsules or fruiting body needs to be carboxylized
