I'm so glad my father raised me with THIS and not the modern shitty music. Saxon are the fucking best, I'm gonna see them live this October and it will be the highlight of my live.
I remember they came to "El teatrito" in Buenos Aires, I had them at 2 metters from me. They got in, Biff said "what a small venue", but they rocked their asses off. Totally loved that last show in here.
Saw them 1979 Dixieland show bar Colwyn bay North wales Graham Oliver Steve Dawson, guitar and bass guitar wheels of steel tour met the guys awsome band , shame the pier succumbed to t he sea and was never re built, still got the tour scarf 40 plus years later
Great live version and something I noticed about a certain era of camera-persons that for some reason thought it's cool to NOT show the soloist and pan around the stage to everyone else. Hey if you do camera work for pro bands...don't do this for fucks sake! Couldn't believe this person did it twice in one song #Moron
One of my all-time favorite bands on vinyl, but when you watch them live you know why they never made it big in America...they are a complete dud live with no show, or treats, or production value, or anything. Great songs but zero vision or marketing gimmicks or charisma or anything. You compare them to Judas Priest or Iron Maiden and you can realize there’s a huge difference in presentation.
I think Saxon sound exceptionally good playing live. Better than Maiden. They don't invest much in that old "monster" show stuff as Maiden or Alice does, but... neither Zepp nor Beatles ever did big shows with weird costumes, stage machinery and all that shit. For Jimmy Page it's enough to wear a t-shirt and a simple pair of jeans. When people come for the music, there's no need to play that heavy metal theater. They are neither Maiden nor Manowar.
Disagree. I've seen 'em on... at least 10 occasions, and they're ALWAYS entertaining. A frontman like Biff isn't a dime a dozen. Bruce is. Priest had ups & downs. Not my favourite band, but ALWAYS entertaining live!
The crowd is DEAD! But than all my bands I love are... Gene Simmons said it best OUR MUSIC is gone... I mean FOO FIGHTERS are good ( don’t own any albums ) but I seriously can’t think of a album I’ve bought with 1990 or above on it. The 70’s & 80’s were the best EVER for metal. Dan McCafferty said it best in 2013 singing for NAZARETH... Were going to do a song( crowd cheers) off our new album ( crowd moans ) naw just kidding this is 78’s EXPECT NO MERCY ( crowd goes crazy :)
That's original founding member, Paul Quinn (now bald). He was balding since the band started really, but wore a wig (yeah, I know...they're the real Spinal Tap btw), from about 1983-84 and to 1997/98. He then dropped it, since it looked strange on a man apporaching 50, and they weren't trying to qonquor the american music market anymore either, where looks matters.
I don't think that it's the lights, maybe he had a trouble with the strings, tune or something like that,he really change the guitar, and because they haves two guitars we can't hear when he stops to play the blue guitar to change for the purple. Both of them are bealty guitars....
@@grahamtaylor8912 i will...i lsitened some new songs like Battalion of steel and another and i like them..i don't like so much the other guitarist..scarrat ..really worse than great Oliver

Biff is such a good live singer!
Is that a pfp of Fifth Angel I see?! They are awesome🤘
A few years ago I was driving a fast car through the Welsh mountains in the dark, flipped the stations, this came on, floored it.
I remember they came to "El teatrito" in Buenos Aires, I had them at 2 metters from me. They got in, Biff said "what a small venue", but they rocked their asses off. Totally loved that last show in here.

They're better than Judas Priest, just. But nowhere near Maiden, obviously.
They probably didn't have good management.

anyone know what model of Lag guitar the lead guitarist (paul quinn?) is using?
Is Quinn wearing a wig ????
Yes
Rufus D Tonebug that's kinda funny huh everyone knows he's bald and he comes out with a wig Haha
is that actually quinns hair? whoa
WOW!. Is that Dave Mustain with the purple guitar????
;-)
No,then it was new guitarist Doug Scarratt

Most of it is. Not the wig, tho.
WTH!! What a weak crowds?! They always got the weak crowds
