@@Nangoncrazy it’s already technically very difficult at a „normal“ big ski racing jump and only the top 10 can do that properly, but at the „Mausefalle“ jump…?! That’s the steepest and longest jump of the season and doing it there is either suicidal, big ballsy or just the biggest boss move ever. Didier had all of these three attributes! 😂
@@Nangoncrazy here are two videos of how not to do that jump ua-cam.com/video/ts-I4H0oJhc/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/Fzn8_Ne5WRE/v-deo.html That was Hans Grugger the day before on the training run. He was an awesome downhiller, and put in a coma after that accident (induced I believe). The fact that Cuche was the only person to be able to tuck mid air is impressive, especially in one of the toughest jumps on the World Cup.
my favorite ski race of all times. this guy, this year, this race. I enjoy and watch(ed) many different ones and it's my personal opinion: this one = all time favorite. so unique and confident, incomparable. And yep, let me edit:ORF does the best job of commentating. Also for football. No bullshit, just pure fun, passion and knowledge.
There are two runs to decide which one is the greatest kitz run ever. Eberharter 04 or cuche 11. Just because of this mausefalle, my vote goes to cuche. This was absolutely insane...! I was panicing in front of the tv
First class than fast , Didier was one exciting guy to watch on any hill but here we see just how good he really was . Missing those days when he ran & Lindsay was kicking ass on the Women's side !!!
@@realtruth9346 Absolutely. They are so much more objective and enjoy and celebrate everyone. The Swiss ones are too technical and critical. Then again that is who we are as Swiss.
Great victory, very great athlete but by changing even one of a track like 'LA Streif', one, there is less show, and second: they say "victories count"! But do the stones also know that Peter Fill's victories, and the one that divided it into two heats? Whoever wins is like a half win for me in the end! Cuche's 5, in comparison with Paris's 3 victories over the real Streif and with the green ice, are worth triple. Then for heaven's sake, leave and immediately find the mausewalle and stretches of sliding, technical points, and other crazy points, to get to the Ausbergh take the jump, the traverse and go down at 160km / h until the arrival it takes coroggio just thinking about it to throw down the tips of the skis! However, at the World Championships in Cortina in 2021, some really bad ones for me. Sport without an audience makes no sense. But if he didn't stop for a coffee, Paris would have won with almost 2 seconds over Feutz!
Holy fucking shit did anyone else see that form on the first jump? He fucking tucked well before he landed this guy is a total boss.
What a hero
Honestly don't get it. Why is it so awesome to tuck far before landing?

But now you Have Sarrazin 2024.
Der Oesi-Kommentar ist einfach der Knaller! Geiles Rennen, geiler Typ, geile Berichterstattung!
He was a legend of downhill and giant slalom❤❤❤

Legend. Bode is cool as well.

Also eins könnt ihr besser in Österreich: die Abfahrt der Schweizer kommentieren :)

MAESTRO
The greatest
Die Streckenlänge der Abfahrt beträgt 3312 Meter, unter 2 Min.....
I am Swiss but I prefer our Austrian commentators over the Swiss ones. Would have loved to see Klammer and Herman Mayer together with Cuche.
Seen this video after watching the Jamaican guy made a fool of himself at the 2022 Olympics 😬
Fa sempre male per me non vedere vincere Bode, ma davanti a Cuche... giù il cappello!

faster, yes. different year, different conditions, not comparable. This one sure is more iconic though
