I think the scenes of Tristan being in the asylum and going to Jamaica should have remained in the film. It makes so much sense in how long he was away, and how he came back much more psychologically sound than he initially was after his brother’s death.
Sometimes you wish scenes wouldn't be cut out of the movie. But that does not count for this one, Legends Of The Fall. Makes me more aware how insane perfect the movie already is.
DAMN!! WOULD'VE BEEN NICE KNOWING TRISTEN WAS IN INSANE ASYLUM AND LIVED IN JAMAICA. HE WAS GONE FOR ABOUT 10 YRS BUT MOVIE LEFT HIS WHEREABOUTS SO MYSTERIOUS!

The scene with the doctor asking about sculping Zwick ended up using a slight variation of the lines in The Last Samurai 👍🏻
It’s the another way around mate. If anything, the Last Samurai copied this scene
Well yes but this scene was not used in this movie but it was used in the last samurai by the same director. The director (or whoever) decided this scene didn't contribute enough to be in legends of the fall but Edward Zwick (the director of both movies) felt it had a place in the last samurai and used the scene in that movie.
can see why they left out scene.....makes Tristan look like serial killer... not angle they wanted to use
All of it should have beeb kept in.

Glad they cut these scenes out because they added no value.
Interesting seeing these deleted scenes but the movie is perfect without them. Sometimes its better left to the audience to make theire own assumptions. The final cut just followed the rest of the movie regarding timejumps. I didnt needed these cut out scenes.
